Thank-you, Jang. Excellent review when compared to some other channels. You always take play value into account and aren't at all snobby about size. I hope you continue doing reviews; they are very worthwhile.
I originally was not interested in this set but having watched several reviews I'm sold on it. They did a fantastic job of basically scaling down the UCS model for standard system scale. It looks great, has great play features and figures. I love the driving function especially.
Hey Jang ... thanks for a nice review with some good, fair comments and remarks ... The Sandcrawler is probably my favorite SW vehicle, so I was super excited to get the task of designing this rendition of the classic vehicle in LEGO :)
I actually appreciate this set being a smaller Sandcrawler. I can finally own one and fit it into my display collection. In this case bigger isn’t necessarily better :)
It's weird how sometimes a big Lego sets doesn't have as much space in its interior than a smaller counterpart, so I think this a win for Lego, very nice set!
Well, if you look at the first Lego Sandcrawler, you'd see why. It was very spacious inside and had comparatively little support structure. The first time I tried to move it, it immediately shattered because nothing was held together well. So it's been dismantled in my basement since I got it.
I got this set brand new on OfferUp last week for $40!! I’m so stoked. Great review as always, Jang. Your opinions always matter to us in our Lego buying purchases.
I was surprised to find that the Jawa vehicle from the Tatooine battle pack actually fits inside this Sandcrawler. Was that LEGO's idea from the start or just a coincidence?
Just ordered from Myer, can’t wait 😄 Honestly my biggest complaint is that the box art is in dusk weather instead of bright sunlight. Would have been a nice throwback to the original 2005 set
I think the large window is because you can push the little trolley of the ramp (inside out ) I start building it tomorrow changing all the blue and red pins into black and yes, I have a plate ready to cover that window up, just in case as it is a large cap in the vehicle. Driving it with such a hole on the side looks a bit silly indeed... We love your videos ! 👍👍👍
I own the UCS 2014 Sandcrawler, and I have to say, I largely agree that there should've been more to the interior. Besides that, I don't regret my purchase and I still prefer the UCS one over this edition. However, for a toy, this 2018 version obviously succeeds.
I would love to see A smaller (republic) gunship that is earlier to afford, like instead of 80 dollars, it could be 40 dollars and have 5 minifigs (including 2 pilots and 3 normal troopers
I’m really liking all these Tatooine sets in recent years. The most recent landspeeder, skyhopper, cantina, Jawa battle pack, sandcrawler, and the imperial dropship
If you take two cubes with one that is a third less in height, depth and width, the cubic volume is less than 40% the total amount of the bigger-so yeah, the hunch that this is about half the UCS edition's volume is probably right.
Why are people complaining about non inclusion of R2-D2 and C-3PO do you really want those two figures to take up minifig space when you can get them in a bunch of other sets.
The_Headless_Horseman For this set, I agree that the two droids should be included. LEGO, instead wasted the R2-D2, in a set where it doesn't belong: The Imperial Shuttle. Thanks Lego.
I just bought the UCS version but I think this one is fantastic. It's like a smaller scale version which could be preferred for some as display space can be limited
LostWhits definitely put this suggestion in his next mellemby video. I don't think he takes suggestions from videos other than those where he specifically asks for comments about it. Good idea!!
A Sand crawler set with no 3PO? And the other sets that are based off a new hope (X-wing, Landing craft) have R-2 and R2 is even in the star fighter set! I know it's appropriate for the X-wing and star fighter but Cmon 3PO could've been in one of these!
Why. R2 and 3PO come in every other lego set out there. Owen however would have been a good inclusion rather than Luke who you can get in the land speeder set.
Angrius Windstorm you can happily pay for them and get them elsewhere. I think it's good they have given us different droids here. It's good for variety.
Evan Blenkinsopp it’s because of the last Jedi and Soylo, a soy wars soyry. No Star Wars is selling. So they’re going to have to fair-up their prices if they even want a hope of moving stock, especially here in the UK where Star Wars is now ostensibly dead.
Including Luke was absolutely the right choice, but I can't help thinking that Owen Lars would have been appreciated more. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe only 2 Owen Lars figures have ever been released. One came in the original Sandcrawler which is pricey these days due to its size and age. The other was the UCS Sandcrawler which is pricey due to its size and UCS label. This could have been a "relatively" cheaper way to get Owen Lars.
Thank you very much for telling the actual length in cm)) You know,I'm not an american,so I never understand it,when you are talking about the length or height in inches..appreciate it,it helps a lot
I see this as the budget sandcrawler, since it's probably made for people who can't afford the ucs version. similar to how the 2ds is a cheaper version of the 3ds for those who can't afford it.
All the new LEGO sets coming it are pretty awesome, unfortunately I stopped spending so much money on them. If they keeps all this up though, I may need to go back to buying lots of LEGO!
The Super Nintendo game really made the sandcrawler's interior interesting to me. This doesn't live up to all the ore smashers and smelting pits, but it's still pretty cool.
I think it would benefit from a few more tiles and a few less studs on the sides - eg. they could switch out the 4x4 and 4x6 plates for those tile-plates with one row of studs only. Much like the UCS - it's a bit too studdy for my liking.
Did they do a good job creating a play set? Yes. I agree some capes for the jawas would be nice and at least one more or even two. Overall, the inclusion of Luke is a miss but I don't know offhand what would have made me go WOW (maybe five jawas) with the minfig selection. Really should have been four jawas and no Luke. Some more tiling might help the overall look with all those exposed studs. But for $140, this is a hard sell for all but diehard OT fans. I wonder how many kids nowadays are even familiar with this vehicle?
I personally prefer this to the UCS sandcrawler. Sure, the UCS one is much larger and more detailed, but considering the price of the thing, it's much more accessible. I still think it's funny that the steering mechanism here is more effective than the larger one but takes up less interior veritcal space.
Great review Jang! I only buy SW Lego sets & have a MIB UCS Sandcrawler set in the collection. Since I don’t build them, I actually watch your videos to see what it would be like. Yeah, its a little weird I collect them this way, but as a kid it was always looking at the box sets on the shelf that made me wonder what it would be like to build them. I still hold that thought to this day, even though I have the sets I always wanted. Thanks for sharing Jang.
stingray427man that's pretty funny. I've heard of people who buy 2 of every set and only build one, but never someone who never builds them. Just out of curiosity, why don't you buy the box on the aftermarket?
Don't want to spend 9+ minutes learning about this set? See my *quick* overview instead: ruclips.net/video/jiWhyWvAU40/видео.html
*3:30** & **4:56** the crane can be folded up even farther* by turning it up, parallel to the roof.
Love the vid keep up the good work
Love it I used to watch this a few years ago but stooped but I'm back now
Does the vehicle from the Lego set 75198 fits inside of this Sandcrawler?
JANGBRiCKS I would be down for even longer reviews for more important sets
JANGBRiCKS I love all three of the drodies
Wasn’t thinking about getting this set until Episode 2 of The Mandalorian just came out!
Sunset Rider same!
Me too!
Jang is the hardest working youtuber I have ever seen. Such how quality vids, the hard work and effort really shines through.
Thank-you, Jang. Excellent review when compared to some other channels. You always take play value into account and aren't at all snobby about size. I hope you continue doing reviews; they are very worthwhile.

As soon as I Saw this set i knew i had to pick this up by any means. Its so amazing that i can add a Sandcrawler to my Star Wars Collection
JediBricks is it out
@@jeanpierrehebert6031 it is now
This set is secretly a lego city set because it has a red mug
hehe .. my idea for the mug was "Cup of Java" ;) ... oh and we're quite fond of coffee in the LEGO Star Wars project .. so it kinda made sense .. hehe
KrokoHunter , seriously so you work for Lego
I got this set brand new on OfferUp last week for $40!! I’m so stoked. Great review as always, Jang. Your opinions always matter to us in our Lego buying purchases.
That "Nooom" thing in the 5:31 was very funny :)
I was surprised to find that the Jawa vehicle from the Tatooine battle pack actually fits inside this Sandcrawler. Was that LEGO's idea from the start or just a coincidence?
Great review of a great set. Love that printed clear panel 4:13 - bring us more, LEGO!
It was also featured in 75202, so hopefully we're going to be seeing it more.
Just ordered from Myer, can’t wait 😄
Honestly my biggest complaint is that the box art is in dusk weather instead of bright sunlight. Would have been a nice throwback to the original 2005 set
The 75198 just fits perfectly in this set! And that +2 jawa is always come good.
Nothing says dedication more than a man posting a video at nearly midnight PT! God bless you, Jang!!
I feel like a 3po or R2 or both should’ve been included
I'd say an uncle Owen would have been nice too.... who hasn't got a 3po and R2 already? :)
I think the large window is because you can push the little trolley of the ramp (inside out )
I start building it tomorrow changing all the blue and red pins into black and yes, I have a plate
ready to cover that window up, just in case as it is a large cap in the vehicle.
Driving it with such a hole on the side looks a bit silly indeed...
We love your videos ! 👍👍👍
For the jawas they should keep the stud shooters as a replacement for the old weapons
Nah
I own the UCS 2014 Sandcrawler, and I have to say, I largely agree that there should've been more to the interior. Besides that, I don't regret my purchase and I still prefer the UCS one over this edition. However, for a toy, this 2018 version obviously succeeds.
Love watching jangbricks
Dude, this is SOOOOO AWESOME! I loved the original UCS Sandcrawler and this is worthy of my praise as well. Great review, Jang!
Did not know Lego was in the interest of the FBI
Jang, I too, personally favour the area towards the rear.
Me: I'm getting it
My wallet: Nope
If you take two cubes with one that is a third less in height, depth and width, the cubic volume is less than 40% the total amount of the bigger-so yeah, the hunch that this is about half the UCS edition's volume is probably right.
My favorite part is the coffee cup in the cockpit. xD
This is a great design for a set but I wish there would be one or two more figures in this set
The_Headless_Horseman yeah, I actually really like that the droids are different.
Because the droids are iconic to the scene, because they're picked by Luke. So they should be there for the scene. But it's fine, I see your point.
It's because they are huge parts of the sandcrawler scenes :)
I just bought the UCS version but I think this one is fantastic. It's like a smaller scale version which could be preferred for some as display space can be limited
7:06 Darn LEGO and their anti-human agenda...
Great video as always, Jang!
A sandcrawler shaped Jawa Juice Food Truck would be awesome. Jang humour me in Melamby District
LostWhits it would be great!
Womprat on a stick! get your womprat on a stick!
It would fit right across the street from the Shop Star :D
LostWhits definitely put this suggestion in his next mellemby video. I don't think he takes suggestions from videos other than those where he specifically asks for comments about it. Good idea!!
You can combine it with the jawa “battlepack“
I wonder if the vehicle from that battlepack fits up the ramp?
That’s probably why they released the battle pack
This should have had an exclusive Aunt Beru figure :/
A Sand crawler set with no 3PO? And the other sets that are based off a new hope (X-wing, Landing craft) have R-2 and R2 is even in the star fighter set! I know it's appropriate for the X-wing and star fighter but Cmon 3PO could've been in one of these!
Ashton Andrade, you make a good point.
That Bit about Not having humans in sets had me dying. Keep it up jang
It looks exactly just like the previous one. I couldn't even tell it was the 2018 until I saw the title. Anyway great review Jang:)
I definitely want this Lego kit, it looks fantastic. But no R2 or Threepio?!?!?!?! Or Uncle Owen? I would happily pay more for these inclusions.
Why. R2 and 3PO come in every other lego set out there. Owen however would have been a good inclusion rather than Luke who you can get in the land speeder set.
Then you have to buy the ucs one to get them ^^ plus he is much better as this one (which is normal)
Angrius Windstorm you can happily pay for them and get them elsewhere. I think it's good they have given us different droids here. It's good for variety.
Just got this for $70 from my local Target. Worth the wait.
Same, loving it!
I like it, an approachable price and I am always a fan of the Sandcrawler. I just wish it came with Uncle Owen!
We need a new Tantive IV!
Great review and 5:30 “Nom” that waz funny
Yeah.
$130, *£110.*
No... That can't be... No... They didn't...
IT'S A MIRACLE!
Evan Blenkinsopp it’s because of the last Jedi and Soylo, a soy wars soyry. No Star Wars is selling. So they’re going to have to fair-up their prices if they even want a hope of moving stock, especially here in the UK where Star Wars is now ostensibly dead.
Yeah, that's a price that seems like it's from five years ago
I'm probably going to rip out the internal play features so there is more room for my jawa army hehehehe
The tread tracks look twice as tall, which looks really off to me. If the tracks were half the height, it would look better IMO
I am happy that they included a human, I wouldve been very mad if they didnt
Including Luke was absolutely the right choice, but I can't help thinking that Owen Lars would have been appreciated more. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe only 2 Owen Lars figures have ever been released. One came in the original Sandcrawler which is pricey these days due to its size and age. The other was the UCS Sandcrawler which is pricey due to its size and UCS label. This could have been a "relatively" cheaper way to get Owen Lars.
In design and construction technics it’s perfect.
Always loved the sandcrawler as a kid for some reason
Thank you very much for telling the actual length in cm))
You know,I'm not an american,so I never understand it,when you are talking about the length or height in inches..appreciate it,it helps a lot
Im on the fence. I think it looks sort of OK on the outside. THe inside is pretty cool and the cockpit area is UCS quality.
Your right I didn’t realize
Takes me back to the 2006 sand crawler set, my first “big” LEGO set
The box makes it look a lot bigger then it actually is
This goes good with the jawa battle pack
It looks like they just made a simpler version of the UCS, which was a great idea IMO
This is probably the set I was most excited for in the SW Fall wave.
I wish they at least raised the price just a little for a bigger sandcrawler. I still think the first one ever made was the best.
Well, you have convinced me that this set is good
They need a jawa battle pack so I can make a jawa army! 👤👤👤👤👤👤
Omg I just realized
They DO have a jawa battle pack!
I have it
Snagged this on clearance for $69, definitely worth it for that.
I had a Walmart price-adjust it to the current $35 clearance price yesterday. Definitely worth it even to this non-Star-Wars fan.
haha lucky im getting this for 460 RM, about 119 in USD
blargg
Dang it’s that cheap now? That’s amazing
I bought 7 of these for 69 each. Sold 6 of them for 75$ each.
I would get this with the battle pack
I love this set, its very nice. It’s also very fun to build.
I feel like this set is very good and i kind of want it
Great reviews and effort in making this video as always.👍
Ucs model is still way way much better in terms of display set and playable.
I see this as the budget sandcrawler, since it's probably made for people who can't afford the ucs version. similar to how the 2ds is a cheaper version of the 3ds for those who can't afford it.
We get skippy the true hero of Star Wars
I will check to see if I may buy this, might be the only Sandcrawler set as the others are out of my budget.
Yep valid point! Thats why i picked this one up UCS Sandcrawler costs too much money for me but the smaller one is good enough for my collection
Jang, you should build a desert in your steampunk world featuring this and other star wars or ninjago sets. Thumbs up if you like this idea
All the new LEGO sets coming it are pretty awesome, unfortunately I stopped spending so much money on them. If they keeps all this up though, I may need to go back to buying lots of LEGO!
You should have this thing broken down in Mellemby
The Super Nintendo game really made the sandcrawler's interior interesting to me. This doesn't live up to all the ore smashers and smelting pits, but it's still pretty cool.
I like that it’s small. It’s so cute!!!!
Miru Nui yeah but the whole point is that it’s meant to be huge
I think it would benefit from a few more tiles and a few less studs on the sides - eg. they could switch out the 4x4 and 4x6 plates for those tile-plates with one row of studs only. Much like the UCS - it's a bit too studdy for my liking.
I loved the more light hearted review! Keep up the good work!
Waking up to jangbricks review, awesome!
Interesting set. I am not a fan of the interior but the exterior is nice
Reagan Reviews 1939 i agree
Did they do a good job creating a play set? Yes. I agree some capes for the jawas would be nice and at least one more or even two. I wonder how many kids nowadays are even familiar with this vehicle?
Thanks for uploading this video just now! Perfect to start the day in CET.
I like this set, but I’m really glad I got the UCS version. I rank it among my all-time favorite Star Wars sets.
Really glad I got the UCS version.
I personally prefer this to the UCS sandcrawler. Sure, the UCS one is much larger and more detailed, but considering the price of the thing, it's much more accessible. I still think it's funny that the steering mechanism here is more effective than the larger one but takes up less interior veritcal space.
The proportions on this one are way off, but I actually prefer this one's interior details to the UCS version.
OH gr8 yet another sand crawler that I probably can't afford
Mason Gullett I can relate. But I'm going to try my best to get this!
I like the explanation mark after the gbp msrp
The droids look really good
Im just going to say that the sandcrawler is my favourite thing in all of existance
Hey Squidward 24 i agree, either the sandcrawler or the mtt
Thanks for using metric, very useful for your audience!
If they don't make an ARC-170 next year for the Clone Wars, I'll... I'll... be very disappointed.
What a great set, this is just what I wanted as a kid :D
Nice review
Great review Jang! I only buy SW Lego sets & have a MIB UCS Sandcrawler set in the collection. Since I don’t build them, I actually watch your videos to see what it would be like. Yeah, its a little weird I collect them this way, but as a kid it was always looking at the box sets on the shelf that made me wonder what it would be like to build them. stingray427man that's pretty funny. I've heard of people who buy 2 of every set and only build one, but never someone who never builds them. Just out of curiosity, why don't you buy the box on the aftermarket?
No Jawa capes?!?! What an outrage!
Jang, LEGOShop has it retailed for 139.99, not $130.
I love this set
Lego: It's so hard to make sandcrawlers!
*Makes 2 well done sandcrawlers in 4 years*
Really nice new droid minifigs
The only thing that confuses me is why no R2 or Threepio?
Very nice looking set is a good play set for kids
a samdcrawler without r2 and c3po? :(
I was expecting this in the male on Tuesday, but it is Thursday now. GPS tracking says it is still in Texas. Can someone tell me what’s going on?
It's probably in Texas
Broguy thanks, btw it came a while ago. I was just super confused with the time.
