Hi, yelistener, imo the tables showing min speed with turn vs year would be better with year on the x-axis and turns on y-axis. Humans tend to process horizontal comparisons better.
It’s also worth noting that during the 2023 Bahrain GP qualifying, temperatures were ranging between 18°C and 28°C. While in 2024, it was a lot cooler, ranging between 15°C and 20°C. Considering that the RB20 still outperforms the RB19 despite the cooler track conditions is mighty impressive to say the least!
@@Nanoarciere track conditions have a huge impact on performance. So even if they would've had the same lap time this year as last year the car would've still improved because the conditions were worse. So the fact that they set a better time with worse conditions is even more impressive
are you mentioning air temperature or track temperature? Cause in Bahrain, even if it was evening, the track temperature would be so high that a slight drop in temperature would actually keep the tires alive in the slow corners towards the end of the lap. I don't know if the track was much more dusty this year. How many cars had failures on qualifying day last year vs this year (affects if there's oil on track)? But yea the 2024 cars seem better over bumps, much more compliant but stable. Good to see.

I've been following f1 since 2010, and yeah, I'm not an F1 fan. I'm a racing fan. I know F1 is always like this, it's just domination after domination. I just got spoiled by the 2021 season, and forget f1 was always this boring.
And with totally new car they opened an intact direction to developments. We shall wait for front limited circuits like Silverstone in the middle of the season to see how much they can improve their lap times. Let's not forget Ferrari and Mercedes improved as well, this year's Hamilton's lap would have got the 2023 pole if I'm not mistaken.

Track conditions rapidly changed and wind picked up during Q3. At first I was thinking that if Max didn't get the tow from Piastri down the main straight, he would be P2, but the wind was too strong for the tow to make a big difference.
honestly remove the cost cap in its current state. Its preventing teams from catching the team with the most sound concept (currently RB) Red Bull are currently protected by the cost cap, all these wins are inflated. Never has there been a cost cap and weve seen championship battles ALMOST every year. This is the worst the sport has EVER been. If there was no cost cap, mercedes, ferrari AND mclaren wouldve won a few races each last season and Red Bull would have still won. And this season we’d see challenge from the other teams. It was already clear in the pre-season testing that one of the weaknesses of the RB19, traction out of low speed corners, had been greatly improved. We saw this last year on a couple of the street circuits where the Red Bull car didnt excel. It's too early to tell if those issues are now completely resolved, but if they are whilst other strong points have remained, the RB20 could be even more of a beast then the RB19.
It's crazy how his inputs are almost identical year to year. It's like you're watching the same video side-by-side. Except for that understeer correction
RB20 is very tailored by W11 capabilities and Max's drive-style ( late braking and fast car turn), the biggest evolution is that RB20 can brake late, and can even brake + turn at the same time, someting that most F1 cars get issues with( one of the biggest W11 strenghts). Having grip, and not overheating the brakes is something thats needs perfect symphony between Aerodynamic and Brakes airflow.

It's common sense, if you don't push the engine to its limits, it lasts longer,. If you push it, it'll most probably just blow up or have its lifetime cut in half.
Red Bull is traditionally weaker in street circuits in the ground effect era. After 2 years we have a good picture of what tracks are good for Red Bull and not. Monaco, for example, is not a good track for them, as last year Aston Martin had the fastest car but Verstappen with driving ability got the pole. The Red Bull car is not that good in slow corners and for this the other teams will be very close in tracks like Monaco, Azerbaijan and Singapore.

Red Bull is traditionally weaker in street circuits in the ground effect era. After 2 years we have a good picture of what tracks are good for Red Bull and not.
Monaco, for example, is not a good track for them, as last year Aston Martin had the fastest car but Verstappen with driving ability got the pole. The Red Bull car is not that good in slow corners and for this the other teams will be very close in tracks like Monaco, Azerbaijan and Singapore.
