Oh-my-God! I’ve heard other singers sing these notes, but they don’t hit the pitch squarely in the center like Celine does. Totally top of all awesomeness!!! ❤🎉😮
5:51 is incredible. The fact that this was put right next to the All by Myself F5 really highlights how much better she got at belting as her voice matured. The F5 in All by Myself was throaty (like a lot of her belts in the 1990s) then the new belt was mixed and just sounded a lot more pleasing, not to mention the ease with which she hit the note.
razrv3lc but that F5 was meant to sound strained. The emotion the song is supposed to portray is angst and desperation. It wouldn't be the same if it was all pretty and clear.
I actually think her belting technique was "better" during her early years, she did a more full chest belt and fully engaged her core to create a larger more resonant sound now she sings much lighter and mixed but doesnt carry as much weight so she doesnt have the same ring anymore (though her upper belts have gotten healthier and easier to acces but the below f5 notes used to be better imo)
So Adele is the top diva these days but I hate when people compare. She's amazing at her style of music and even Celine loves her. But comparing her to Celine is like comparing Mary j Blige and Whitney Houston. One has a truly soulful voice but that's about it. Range, power, control, versatility goes to the Trinity.
In reality, it does not really matter much on whatever vocal range that she has & comparing it with others. As long as she continues to produce fantabulous songs as long as she could, it means much more than anything else does. I love her since her first international album itself as I had all her assorted English & French language albums up to date. I had even repurchased any of her albums that I could buy in Blu-ray too. She is everlasting 'til the end of time...
On top of the natural talent, she always trained her voice with the best voice coaches she could find, and she took excellent care of her instrument. So no wonder she's that good, and that after singing for close to 40 years, she can still amaze.
CELINE DOESN'T TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED, SHE'S ALWAYS BEEN GROUNDED! IN THE VERY CORE OF HER, SHE KNOWS THIS IS HER TRUE PURPOSE & CALLIMG FROM GOD! ONLY A TRUE BELIEVER CAN POSSESS THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL!
i don't know why i haven't watched this sooner but it was a fun video to watch. i love that part 5:51 where she sings its a thing called love while singing up to a very nice F5. i also love all the little vocal warm up footage which there were more videos of all my favorite singers in compilation like this. aretha, patti, mariah, whitney, kelly, babs, luther, freddie
I agree! =) Céline is just wonderful and in a total different liga. Céline is far beyond "fantastic artist", "phenómena"... all the superlatives you can find. She's a living legend - and a true living person at the same time. I can't but love her!
I feel exactly the same about Mariah and Celine. I can hear through any Dion's albums, Her voice never gets me tired. Although I love Carey's huge talent and understand her unique skills, I can't say that about her,
Dear Noguez, it's called "Treat Her Like a Lady" in which she recorded with artitst Diana King from her 1998 album "Let's talk about Love" . Have fun listening to it! :)
What's the operatic song at 7:05? Can't get it out of my brain! Excellent video also, any thoughts on how her voice has actually improved in quality over the years??
+xColmGx It's not an actual song, just a short composition written in studio while she was recording "Taking Chances." You can find it by searching up "Celine Dion sings opera" or something. And yes I agree with you! Even though her voice might not be as powerful as it was in her prime her technique has definitely improved amazingly and she hits those high notes with much more ease!
razrv3lc She really doesn't though. She doesn't really start supporting and resonating until above F#3 where the low notes in this video end. For a soprano she has a ok/decent low range but not in general.
Well, of course I meant for her voice type lol. I certainly wouldn't say it's good compared to a contralto or another lower voice because in that situation, it really wouldn't be good. For what she has to work with, it's good is what I was trying to say lol
now i know mariah has 5 octaves but she in got on celine voice just her voice in general her tone is so angelic but mariah is amazing i am not hating whatsoever
Of what I've heard for the last years when Mariah is singing, I think she has lost a bit of her voice... And I can listen to entire albums of Celine Dion, being amazed by her voice, the sounds she's able to make... I've never been able to listen to an entire album of Mariah... I adore her, I mean a few songs... But I can't for the rest... For me Celine is much better
Treat Her Like a Lady from her 1997 album Let's Talk About Love. It's a pseudo-reggae song sprinkled with high notes. It's definitely a highlight on that album.
@@Supcharged her voice is so weird to me, sometimes it looks like she can so easily support high belts, and other times she strains tf out of them lmao
@@codygallagher5992 her upper belts had never been consistent compared to others in her level. In her prime in 1989-1993, she was consistent to Eb5, sometimes E5. F5 was strained most of the time regardless. Someone like Mariah in 1994-1996 was consistent to F5 or F#5, but almost all other areas of her voice was weaker than celine.
@@Supcharged I blame her inconsistency on being one of the most overworked artists of all the time. All the tours, residencies, talk shows, etc. Mariah did like 10 show tours in the 90’s lmao. If Celine rested her voice more often throughout her career she probably could have had more consistent upper belts. It’s hard to consistently do amazing highs when your voice is tired.
Why doesn't Celine Dion utilize her head voice more? It is supremely beautiful and resonant. I mean, she is sent so many songs by writers every year to sing, don't none of them have something that could exploit her head voice?
The song is called Map to My Heart. I think it was one of the bonus tracks on the deluxe version or the bonus track version of Taking Chances. I think she was just singing with the demo to get a feeling for the song--I think the demo singer is Kara DioGuardi.
@stardusth2o thanks a lot, bue i can see the video beacuse it says that its not aloud in my contry :(, what can i dooooooooooo!!!!! please my friend help me

I agree 100%.
I have every album (vinyl, cd, mini disc...) and every single (vinyl, cd...) french and english
Vocal range doesn't matter if the singer can't control it. Celine is one of the few to have a large range and nearly perfect control over her voice.
On top of the natural talent, she always trained her voice with the best voice coaches she could find, and she took excellent care of her instrument. So no wonder she's that good, and that after singing for close to 40 years, she can still amaze.

same! the reason sessions are just legendary
Yes Mariah can hit a whistle note but celines voice is much more powerful
Celine is very powerful. Just as much as Mariah.
Mariah Carey Fan I love mariah Carey she's one of my faves but celine has a lot more power behind her voice
Tristan Foster I can understand that. Celine is undeniably the greatest nowadays.
that is so true!!
yup nobody tops Celine's vocal power and stamina. She's a 5 octave singer which is already a very impressive & rare vocal range
I used to think she was terrible as a vocalist, but now I see that she sings with a such passion. She's very talented indeed.
Terrible vocalist .... are you crazy !!!! Lolllll
what a video! you've got a lot of those clips of hers in studio. and i love that second F5, followed by a couple of G5s at 7:12. great job!!!!

Her first note (A2) is the lowest note I can easily sing and I'm male. She has a great lower range. That A2 is where my speaking voice is.
