Seen so many guys do it like this, totally not practical , takes 5 minutes to use a tube socket on a knuckle joint with a ratchet , done it numerous times even when the engine was hot.... And I've never trained as a mechanic , just hink logical and practical .

    Thanks! Great video.
I have a Seat Leon 1.6 with the same engine and may need to replace the coil and ignition wires.
What a lot of things to remove for a simple job.
I noticed that the secondary air pump is blocking access to the ignition coil, but did not see how the bracket holding the pump was mounted.

13 mm socket, and i think 5 or 7 mm hex screw. Use wd-40 on the hex screws before, because they round easily

I have a 2.0 gasoline engine + gas, and there are additional cables everywhere blocking access to the screws of the air pump cover. Can I remove the screws from the throttle side and the upper screws of the intake manifold, or do I need to find a way to access the air pump cover? I need to replace the spark plugs and wires.... Sory for my english, it is not my native language

what is the component that was removed from the vehicle at 2:00 ? This part is not installed in my Golf 4 with the same 1.6 engine.

The component that was removed is the secondary air pump.

Hey cool video, I went through something like this to change a leaking heater hose on my vw caddy with the same 2k engine but didn't have to take of the intake manifold. Is there no manifold gasket?

    • @Oppong21
      @Oppong21  Год назад +2

The intake manifold doesn't have a gasket but rather a rubber rings. The rubber rings are on the intake manifold itself. They can be replaced with new ones if they don't seal anymore. Have a nice day.

@@Oppong21 Cool I may as well try and get some new o rings before I take it off! Thanks bro, you have yourself a tip top day too.

It can be done without removing the aspiration, just the "cold air pump", and I have LPG and I'm not a mechanic. Just have the spark plug instrument and curved pliers. I'm watching this video because I'll have to do it again, after 5 years.
(And he didn't put oil or copper paste on the new spark plugs)

I was reducing the fuel pressure on the fuel line, after that I can disconnect fuel line from the fuel rail.

Is it mandatory the ignition module to be changed also, not only the ignition coil itself?

Do get to the PVC which is under the manifold, I guess you do the same process to get access to it? It's under the 'center' manifold. Perhaps you know?

There is no need to try so hard, there are already pliers to remove the spark plug sockets and the spark plug wrench in your hand is enough. It was enough to just open the engine cover and the spark plugs are visible anyway, the sockets are removed with the pliers, the spark plugs are removed with the magnetic wrench and put back on, that's all, there is no need to disassemble everything, it's a 10-15 minute job.
