Haha what a catch phrase Simon. I'll use that next year 🤣. Yeah definitely mate. I learnt a very valuable lesson yesterday about myself and how it feels to perfectly execute a race. Rather than getting carried away. Thanks again for all your support mate. It's hugely appreciated 👏.
You know John I learnt a very valuable lesson yesterday, about myself. How my body responds to just holiday back , knowing the route and knowing when to kick on properly. Your spot on. It was perfect and it made for such a cracking day because of it. Loved it. Thanks again for the huge support, mate. It really is appreciated 👏
What a run! Huge kudos Stephen! 👏 So glad to see you get it done after the injury issues on the build up. You ran it consistently and sensibly and you smashed it. Huge kudos to Grant for grinding it out too and what a finish! 👏😎🤘🏅
Thanks Ben , it was s fantastic day. One of those runs that everything just goes to plan. I suppose staying sensible plays a huge part in that. It really was one of the best and strongest runs I've ever had. Yeah huge kudos to grant. What a legend for rocking up and getting it done. Thanks again for all the support matey, it's always massively appreciated 👏
Superb! Cracking time as well. Brilliant to see the wee fella crossing the line with you. He was buzzing about it this morning when I was talking to him about it!
Thanks Stephen! Aye both of them were super inspired yesterday by our efforts. Zander didn't want his uncle Grant crossing by himself, so he held off, coming with me to run with him. Super thoughtful of him. Everything we go to an event the question is always asked straight after, can we do this next year with you lol. They are in for a shock when they actually can 🤣. Really appreciate the support, all of the time. Thank you.
Brilliant Stephen & Grant!!...🎉🎉What a crackin video!!.. 😁...i did the 10k but just blew up at 8k and walked /jogged the last 2k...i just wanted medal and t shirt tbh. 😅I've just put it down too a bad day as its not happened b4... 🙃Great too see all these runners recognising you.. 🎉🎉Grant did brill for having no real training.. 😁😁x
Thank you so much Liz! Really glad you enjoyed the vlog. I loved making it and lived everything about that day 💪. It was perfect. That's the way, at least you got it over the line 👏👏. Well done. Yeah, it was so nice out on the course, people coming up to mr as well as the spectators shouting. It really was a very humbling experience. I was going to skip next year and have a cracking at G2E again. But a huge part of me just wants to relive that experience. Thanks again for all your support. It's hugely appreciated, always 🙏
@@runningwithstephen it is a great race I just had a bad day... 😂I'm hoping too do the half next year I do love that route and I've Done it twice b4....i run pollok /Bella a lot and the clydeside... Really enjoyed that video... The big bear in front of you at the start is my friend John he was running for autism... 😁x
Superb Steven mate. Well done. Looked incredible. That was amazing having your boy running with you at the end. Well done to him. Looking forward to your next vlog. ATVB Alan
Thanks Alan! It was such an iconic day. One of the best I've had from start to finish. Yeah they love it so much, zander hung back and ran with Grant. To help him cross the line. Both of them are little super starts. Thanks again for all your support matey 👍. Hopefully we can get another we run in soon. 💪💪
Thanks mate! I really do appreciate that 🙏. Yeah I felt in absolute control towards the end. Best I've ever felt, to be honest. I think I really learnt alot about myself on this race. It was epic. Thanks again for the support mate
Thanks so much mate 👍. It was an absolute blast and I gained a little bit more knowledge about myself and racing . Thanks again for your continued support mate. It's hugely appreciated 👏
Well in mate. Great run! Can’t agree more about the pipes btw. There was a pipe band at about 26k in Berlin, was a real struggle not to stop and take it in!
I know mate! I can't believe how well it went. The whole run I felt super strong 💪. Mate I really do appreciate that so much 🙏. Thank you for the support 👍. It really goes a long way 😌🙏. Oh and going forward I think this is how I'll run my races, about 30 seconds of pace and gradually build into them. It felt absolutely epic 😎
@runningwithstephen Aye you looked a lot more comfortable than you did last year. I've only got one speed and that is slow. I'm slowly learning to run with a new stride so I do intervals. 1 or 2km max then rest for 60-90 secs. I got round it in 2hrs 15 which I was pleased with as I nearly never made it due to an inflamed bowel. Thankfully that never caused any grief on the day.
@rydo2012 yeah I remember you saying mate. That's fantastic you made it round. Really well done mate. I'd maybe suggest pyramid intervals. Like 200m 400m 600m 800m 600m 400m 200m with 60/90 sec rest for the longer efforts. Well done mate 👍 👏
Thanks mate! I hugely appreciate your support as always. Yesterday was such a good day out. Can't believe how good it was for us both. You smashed it man. Keep up the hard work!
@barryure75 epic mate! Make sure you get on your recovery 💪. I'm feeling remarkable today haha. Might try a wee run tomorrow or Wednesday. To do the recap vlog 💪
Good afternoon Stephen , I don't want to remind you regarding last yesrs ultra marathon from Glasgow to Edinburgh but I am wondering if it's on, will you be running it this year?
I did the 10k, in 1 hour 27, but i hadn't ran in 2 weeks and my knee was pretty bad. Still, the motivation was there was a guy dressed as a clown, and i didn't want to be beaten by him 🤣🤣
Fantastic John! Haha I know the feeling. We had a guy dressed as a bear in front of us and I didn't want to be beaten by him 🤣. Well-done for getting it done though. Takes alot to see past and push through that injury. Hope you're doing well now. 🙌. Thanks for watching 👀 🙏
That was bad planning by the organisers having that ultra on the same weekend as The Great Scottish Run, only a few elite athletes could do that ultra on Saturday then run the next day the half marathon or even 10K of the GSR.
The Great Stephen Run! What a performance! It's amazing how much better it all feels when you don't push too hard in the first few KMs - nicely done 😁
To my mind this was a perfectly run race, (just on my second watch) . Very well done Stephen. You have come a long way pal.

Good afternoon Stephen , I don't want to remind you regarding last yesrs ultra marathon from Glasgow to Edinburgh but I am wondering if it's on, will you be running it this year?
Hey Alan , it was last weekend. It had crossed my mind for next year but I may do the great Scottish run.
I did the 10k, in 1 hour 27, but i hadn't ran in 2 weeks and my knee was pretty bad. Still, the motivation was there was a guy dressed as a clown, and i didn't want to be beaten by him 🤣🤣

Yeah I know mate. Last year ot was a week apart and by the looks of it, it's a week apart next year. So I may have another go at it 👀 haha.
