If you drive through Moon Pass, You can still see huge stumps and snags of the remains of the burnt trees. I have never heard an eye witness account before! Let us not forget Ranger Pulaski. I am going to take the kids to see the mine where they hid. It is outside of town, going up the canyon where Arthur lived on King street. (Entrance to Moon Pass) I believe it is about a mile hike to the mine.

The Big Burn was also known as the Big Blow Up. A book of the same title with a copyright of 1955 can be found in some old book stores.

he was talking about was my adoptive grandfather. My adoptive father was John Boyd who was the fire chief at the time. It was his father who passed away going back after the pet parrot.
