Thank you for showing us your style of this doodling. I’m excited to try it on plane paper as well as on some gelli prints. I think they would look cool cut into blocks to put on the front of cards.
LOVE your style of neurographic doodling...so INSPIRING!! 💗 Like you, I've embraced the doodling part of it!! 😉 Those Rainbow Sparkle crayons are AMAZING!! 💖🌈
Of all the videos I have watched about Neurographic Art I love this one the most! Actually, I just love your outlook on the whole thing. I have watched videos from neurographic therapists, and after those I felt more depressed and stressed than when I started out! Too many rules, do's and don'ts. I want to feel destressed after any art of craft, not stressed if I kept to the rules or not. So, let's coin our own term...Neuro-doodling. Then these therapists can just go do their therapy with people who pay them so much money for the name. In any case I believe that the psychologist who "found this" just thought back to the doodles we did while in beginner art class at school where you doodled like this and tried to make an animal or something in the colouring process.
Your prints are gorgeous and I love the doodling designs you came up with. To be honest, they are pretty enough to sell individually. Thanks for sharing your art.
I did one of these yesterday after watching another video. Now this morning, I see this…and lo and behold, Shannon’s back!!! YAY!!!!! Wonderful to see you again and thanks for sharing this creative way to relax. I’m adding zen doodles inside my colored areas today, then I’ll be doing another one!
...I have not heard of this, it reminds me of maybe 'free-form" zentangles? ...you have been a great inspiration to me, everything from using up old stamp pads to make patterned paper, to Journaling by Fives, & many other creative ideas. Thank you, Shannon! Keep posting! 😊
Dearest Shannon, I have just taken up this mindless activity!!! Was very pleased to see this “tutorial” on your you tube channel. I think I am going to try those Ooly markers!!! I am flying from Alabama to New Jersey and going to be there 2 weeks. I bought a fresh notebook to fill with neurographic doodling … I also have my chunky colored pencils!!! Thank you!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for sharing, Shannon. I have seen plenty, but not tried it yet. I'm thinking this will be a good use for that pesky fountain pen that's sitting idle.
Hey gal! Ain't these fun doodles? I got into them too and added them to my positivity journal. So relaxing! How you be? I'm with Gwen and glad you are back! I was inspired to create my own en masse journal so that's what I'm working on now! Have a happy Easter! 🤓
Thank you so much Shannon, I really really enjoyed watching you create this Neurographic art work. I’ve done some of this and it’s really really therapeutic too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
I've been doing that technique for years but I've never done a whole page like yours. trying it out now. The alcohol base markers are not the best to use on top of acrylic paint because the alcohol dissolves the paint and the tip gets gummy. The Molotow pen is perfect to write over acrylic paints because it is a water based ink. I am enjoying watching your videos again, you have been missed.
Shannon thank you for sharing your time and talents with us!! This is a cool idea without all the other rules. Positive Blessings, vibes peace, health and happiness! Namesta ✌️🐞🕉️
These are cool! I started doing neurographic “inspired” art a few months ago and am totally hooked. I’ve done over 100 so far. I would suggest using a corner cutting tool on your paper corners. I’ve found it really makes mine look more finished and impressive/professional. Your designs look very similar to mine, and I use some of the same materials you do. I just finished one today using my watercolor creams, so I perked right to attention when you showed yours! Haha! I also recently started doing gel prints, but have only done a few. Will experiment more this summer. I’ve watched a buttload of neurographic art videos, and yours is one of the best! Maybe I just like your devil-may-care attitude. Hahaha! Well, I’m off to try doing a swirly-flowery one like that last one you showed! All the best!
I think doodling is healing and therapeutic whether that's your intention or not. And these are BEAUTIFUL! The one going top to bottom looks like a cactus skeleton. I also think if you did this with a white pen, it could have a sort of batik look to it. There's a way to refill your markers by extracting ink from empty inkjet printer cartridges. It's AMAZING how much ink you can get out of there. I've only done this for fountain pens and highlighter markers (no Sharpies yet). But you can do it with water or alcohol, and just add it with a syringe into the cartridge and then suck out the colour. If the nib is splayed or frizzy on one of your pens, I can see you saying, "So I just turned it into a brush." Ha! 🙂
I'm (pretend) making you a t-shirt with: I got the gist - now doin' it my own way! Been too lazy to watch all those neuro vids. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting!
Thank you for clearly stating that this is not true neurographic art, but art inspired by the neurographic style. I have seen a lot of videos that are made loosely in the style of neurographic art but don't make that important distinction. Both have their places, for sure, but it's important that people don't expect to have the same results with a neurographic style doodling process that they can potentially have with following a true neurographic art process. All art can be therapeutic, but that doesn't make all of it art therapy.
This is the first video I have watched on neurographic style doodling and I loved your approach and thinking about it! Doodling over endless gel prints is very appealing. Thank you for sharing your prints, tips and thoughts about this fun style of doodling. It was great!
I just discovered this art form and I’m like you. I do Neurographic style paintings and break all the rules 😂
Shannon I’m so HAPPY you’re doing videos again! Missed you so much!
Thanks Gwen, I’m so happy to be filming again!

I love your method. I've been doing the same for several months. Thank you so much for sharing your work.
I’ve had problems navigating videos that focus on the mental aspects of this type of art. Thanks for the straightforward tutorial!
I’m so glad this was helpful for you!

You've got a fun, unique take on neurographica. I'm going to try it in an inchie challenge I'm participating in on Instagram right now. Thanks! ❤
I think I've done neurographic art w/o knowing it had such an impressive name! TFS! Yours are fab!
You were trending and didn’t even know it! 😄

Very beautiful and very creative.🙏

So glad you enjoyed it!
I live this. I doodle during meetings. I will use a notebook I have from now in. I usually go it on post it’s and throw them away. No more!
Save those doodles!!
Thanks for sharing, Shannon. I have seen plenty, but not tried it yet. I'm thinking this will be a good use for that pesky fountain pen that's sitting idle.

What a great video! A doodle lesson, a medical lesson and a good laugh! 😂
It checks all the boxes!
Oh wow absolutely love you’re relaxing creations, thank you for sharing. Lovely sparkle crayons.
Thanks Janet!
As I lose wrist and hand flexibility, this could be something I can do. Will have to give this a try.. and it’s a lovely excuse to buy some pens!😂

I really love the red page with the darkest area in the middle but they are all pretty and interesting
Thank you Rhonda!
Wonderful way while away a few hours! I’m interested to know - does the Gamsol have any effect on the pen lines?
I’ve never had any problem with it reacting with the pens I use but testing it on a piece of scrap paper would be a good idea.
This is so wonderful, can be done on canvases? 👏👏👏👏🙏
Don’t see why not!
I don't have confidence in my doodling, but this actually looks fun
It’s fun and very doable, you should give it a try
I use hot press bristol board for all of mine. I also just discovered Sharpie .38 gel pens.
I like the Sharpie gel pens, I just wish they were waterproof.
Awesome! For lazy people like me who want to create something good - looking without too much effort 😂🤩. Thank you!

I just thought of something else. If you use Bristol paper or hot press watercolor paper your markers will last much longer. All the best to you! 🙂
