Maybe you can help me. I need to update my lens firmware for the Samsung NX1's compatible lenses, but the only supposedly reliable source I have come across has broken links. i-Launcher has not been available for years... I bought it last year. ...maybe I should have invested in a Sony ZV-E10...
How does the Sony ZV-E10 in-body video stabilization compare to other camera's video stabilization?
If I choose it, it will roll in tandem with my Sony FDR X3000.
Also, you said money weirdly, because it is similar to how one says "Tony", and you pronounced it how you say Toneh. lol

Dramatically sharper and cleaner than the BMPCC4K camera. Plus, I sold my BM camera for $1,500 saving me money on the A7iv.

I don't suppose you have the time and random determination to do a side by side with 4x zoom so someone with a 1080p monitor who neither has a bmpcc 4k nor a a7 IV can see what the difference actually looks like?
      😂 kinda kidding 🙄
...cause 4k ("good 4k"/"actual 4k" eg footage that isn't crippled by codec, RUclips compression, bad lens, dirt, spit, vomit, karmic diarrhea etc) on common folk size screens is sharp. Good, native, unleashed, in focus raw 4k = sharp.

My recording studio just shot a live music video for a major label artist to be broadcast on VH1, MTV, BET, etc. We used BMPCC4K's and a C100 mkii upscaled to 4k in post. The artist, management, and execs at this label accepted our first submission with no changes or edits. This is very rare at this label. Despite the older gear being operated by mostly clueless audio guys, they loved it! A good eye, creative lighting, creative shots, and good editing/CG/post go a loooooong way, even on older/cheaper gear. That said, to Kasey's point, we'll be upgrading soon and jumping several generations. Waiting for the XH2 (non S) and or XT5, then comparing them all to the XH2S and R5C (yeah, yeah, I know) to make a decision. Main reason we're upgrading isn't even for better video specs, it's just to be able to occasionally take a damn picture. Aloha Kasey!

So true, another thing I've realized while researching different cameras is there always going to a million videos about that camera and why the various creators love it so much, and your feed will populate those videos, reminding you to buy the damn camera. But, after purchasing the X100V due to that reason, thinking it was the ultimate camera, I now know that every camera has it's fan base and RUclipsrs will always make content on anything they can and why any camera is the best thing ever.

You know whats funny... There are still endless people crying (or are they bots?!) how hard it is to get this and that camera or lens and that you have to wait for 6-10 months for arrival and whatever.
And meanwhile... i see these cameras and lenses everywhere aviable, new, 2nd hand, from china, from usa....
Im not sure, but i think its part of the modern economy to tell the people: Get it before price rise, get it before supply chain isnt working is intended, get it NOW because otherwise you dont get it at all,.... damn capitalism!
R7 for example... everyone said they dont get it, they need to wait for months,.... and its even true here in eastern austria. But if i drive a few hours to moldavia (or even ukraine!), its about 40% cheaper (!!!!!!) and aviable EVERYWHERE!

Good message: I was falling in the trap and I realized that, the reason I was spending money on new shiny things was to give myself some treat, but it was lasting less and less and I was craving more and more.
I started watching back what I had shot, and I realized there was no appreciable difference.
Find something to shoot and forget about the gear: Cartier Bresson had a Leica, not because it looked cool and trendy, but because it was small (for the standards of the time) and cheap, and it made him less conspicuous. He knew that camera well and he sticked to that.
I watch at all the Hipster and wannabe "Pro" lugging around 15K (whatever currency) and 1.5kg of brass like a yoke around the neck to look cool and I shake my head. They use it to shoot Kittens on instagram, out of focus most of the times.
I guess Today Cartier Bresson would be using a Ricoh GR and be fine with it.

The upgrade doesn't need to be substantial to be worth it. If the upgrade lets you optimize your workflow, then you're going to be making more money per hour. Also, if you upgrade frequently then you can sell the old gear at a good price, so the upgrade isn't that costly, but if you wait too long, then your old camera is worth nothing.

Only if you see photography as a job and earn good money with!
If its just a hobby, you CAN NOT UPGRADE THAT MUCH/OFTEN!
We should also see a difference between upgrading the camera (= replacing an older camera with a newer model) or upgrading the gear with an additional camera.
I just tried to replace the EOS RP with a EOS R6 (for wildlife). Thank god i didnt sell the RP because i absolutely could not handle the R6.... too big, heavy. Yeah a great camera, but i really could not "live" with it when used for daily, family and travel stuff, plus selling the RP would have been needed to compensate for the high price.
Instead, i sold the R6 within the same week i bought it for a good price and got the R7 as COMPLEMENTARY camera to the RP. RP does everything great and partially better than the R7, while the R7 is a far superior wildlife and video/hybrid camera!

For the still photographer have there been any upgrades worth having recently. If anything stacked sensors have reduced performance for the sake of read speed. The review scene is now the domain of videographers and I am sure most of us can just stick with our old stuff and ignore what goes on in the new releases. An upgrade involves funding a mass of video research and implementation of it in the new camera which seems more to satisfy the reviewer than the user.

@@CharlezRichard Again the emphasis on video and disc space in the cloud still costs money for backup and the camera is out of my budget, the lenses to resolve 40mp way out of my budget and I find even 16mp enough really. The camera industry is walking away from the hobbyist and in body stabilisation in anything larger than m43 expensive. In a way great to be of of this upgrade tread mill with the camera makers desperate for margin and ramping specs for stuff I would think few need. The new releases all seem for professional budgets and users so great if you need it and not knocking it. Nice to be off the upgrade path and plenty of good stuff around. Sold my last Fuji and not really missing it with an EM10 II and E-PL10 doing fine. Just a personal opinion and not trying to preach format or make. I have bought a secondhand Panasonic 14-45mm which is a design going back to the start of m43 for a song and it works fine. I think the term upgrade seems to be bandied around for any new model and at the affordable end more likely to be a downgrade if anything. Look at how Fuji have stripped down the XE's over time. Still a nice camera but there is cost saving and component shortages in the mix I am sure.

      @@cameraconspiracies big thanks!
It renders the handle on the RF 800 now useless since in shooting position its camera heavy and i dont want the camera to punch my face on a regular base lol
But mounting the camera on the clip works also great, so much better solution than any strap. At best im using a small wrist strap with smaller/lighter lenses which can also act with one turn around wrist like binding the camera grip with your hand, but it just works with light and not front heavy lenses (for example at a live concert for easy holding the camera one handed as high as possible)

I wanta upgrade to a MFT camera without IBIS wobble / warpy on my wide angle vlogging lenses 🥹

    • @Leptospirosi
      @Leptospirosi 2 года назад

You can't and you probably never will: it is a physics problem as the wide angle lenses are distorting the image and software compensate for that. As the image is not planar, the IBIS compensate well for up, down, left right and barrel roll, but when it compensate for pan left and right, the image wobble because you are moving a spherically deformed image in your sensor. The wider the lens, the more pronounced the wobble at the corners, while the centre is usually fine. M43 suffers more if that because the focal length has to be shorter then on larger sensors. Ideally a Fuji medium sensor would be the less affected camera format (Hass and Ph1 di not make videos and do not have IBIS).
It would require extensive AI processing to eliminate that and a very well made lens which perfectly couples with the camera body, ideally a non interchangeable lens one. That is why post processing on Sony makes the stabilization better then it does in camera.

I’m kind of old school since I come from actual motion picture film (16mm and Super 8) and standard def digital video. I like buying older cameras because they are better than what I had to use back in the day, plus they are extremely affordable! Instead of paying $2,000+ for the latest and greatest, I’d rather invest $500 for an older camera that has a great image over a ton modern features.

My question is are there any fun gadgets to get me by til they decide to produce more lenses? Maybe anamorphic adapters or some third party cinema lenses to keep things interesting?

I upgraded from Nikon D7500 to Z6ii, excellent choice, great for portraits and everything. But not good for subject tracking. Rely on single point or dynamic autofocus for Bird photography. I sold my D7500, but now feel like buying D850, only for its 45 MPs Sensor with 200-500mm.

    • @magicalwishlist6616

My advice get a used Z7. I did much better option than the D850, unless you have a big investment in F Mount glass.
The Z7 us the most under rated camera out there. I love the images it makes.

    • @OracleTestlab

@@magicalwishlist6616 Z6ii with 200-500mm doesn't feel like much reliable, Z7 may not be good either. What I have heard and seen other d500/D850 shooters say 200-500 works great for DSLRs like D500 and D850. And since D850 has 45MPs sensor I have a huge cropping options in addition to better Focus.

The new and upcoming Fujifilm X-T5 will be announced this year, 2022. My thoughts are that it will be released Feb. 2023. Will have 40mp sensor, no battery grip capability, will shoot 8k30fps video. Also, new lenses are on the way, XF56mm Ver.2, and more.I will stick with Fujifilm. It will not be announced on September 8th, it will be announced later this year.
