The thing with this clash is you can’t judge by the reaction in the room. Reason being is Devilman is from Birmingham and the clash was in London. All of Skeptas people was there gassing his rhymes which is why it seemed more hype when he’s rapping. By the way a lot of people think Devilman won, including me
I agree i think personally they both shelled it but devilman won after Skepta started repeating bars
@@410ghost5 yeah, Skeppy has said before that Devilman won this clash
@@410ghost5 and not just the repeating bars, the vast majority of the bars he spat here were already old he just wacked devilmans name into them
Devilman was on his own for this one - he'd been told not to bring his crew.
See room or crowd control even in a hostile environment is part of the rubric for American BR so I thought that would cross over I see it does not lol.
I will have to go back and listen again but I can say devilman had some crazy flow patterns and after hearing more about D Double E
I now know that is far more rated than actually what one might have said.
Bless for the details and comment and for checking the video out.
Yooo the craziest thing is Devilman has a bar that literally starts with “you’ve said that already blud why you repeating it? Talking about pussyhole you must be eating it” when I was younger I was a huge Devilman fan and to this day I still can’t believe he never said it at that moment!! Clash would of been over
The leng is the skeng
I’ve now been to office leng school. 😂
Leng means strap but can also mean buff (extremely pretty/sexy).
LOTM has no reloads.
Check out P Money vs. Big H at LOTM 5 if you wanna see a burial. It's from 2014 but recently got put on RUclips.
I thought Peng covers Buff and (extremely pretty/sexy)
Thank you for leng though.
Added this clash to the list too I love a burial.
Thank you as always fro the suggestion and comments.
@@Jurnalist_ peng/leng are interchangeable in that context
Leng dont mean buff lol.
Sorry bro but they are two different things.
Leng means a strap.
You really are digging deep into Grime history. This started a beef that still gets people hyped. There's a lot of tracks and sublimal over the years but check out the Skepta track Nasty from 2014 when he bodies Devilman for mentioning his name on a Chip Diss.
As for this even though I'm a BBK fan I think Devilman beat him since skepta repeated bars. Also Devilman came to London and challenged so he has to get some respect lol
Bashment jungle dnb dancehall I want the roadmap into grime and drill and the UK music scene.
I know my countries music scene like a history book. I need that same knowledge for over there and everywhere I enjoy music from.
You gotta tell me the chip diss I want to hear this in chronological order or as close to it as I can get.
See I was answering comments today and learned he was on his ones and that the parameters are different for a grime clash vs American BR. Devils flows and originality is weighted far heavier in this dynamic than I accounted for I'm learning.
I will watch again and see if I change my pick. I also learned Skeptas level of repeating is frowned upon this is also a detail I'm having to learn as I hear repeating a lot in UK grime but there's a difference and that difference is what lessens the impact of Skeptas verses. To the initiate they know but I'm just now learning.
Finally I've also read Skepta said Devil won so no matter my feelings the guy in the clash called the other guy the winner I gotta respect it. Now the goal is to understand why more so than anything.
@@Jurnalist_ I think it’s probably the level of repeating that gets the scorn - lots of MCs repeat bars to some degree which helps gas the crowds sometime and also is why their boys join in, finishing bars etc. I think it’s just Skepta used the same bars a little too often over too many years so it began to make him look limited. It clearly hasn’t harmed him long term though when you look at the levels of his success and his albums and singles… definitely one of the most successful UK artists.
Fan to fan, I love that you really want to dig deep down into the history of the Grime scene. People have uploaded lots of official tv clips/docs and also unofficial films which together paint a really good illustration of the scene. I’m not suggesting you need to film reactions to all/any of these, but heavily recommend you just watch them in your own time for the schooling and for the enjoyment of seeing the scene evolve, and putting all the pieces together.
The following are all available on RUclips (have put the account in brackets so you can find the clips). Check out:
* Made in Britain: Grime (BBC 1Xtra/ 5.41min) - a good primer
* Open Mic film (ES Studio/ 23min)
* The Rise Of Grime (Endz Report Media/ 16.32min)
* Wot Do U Call It Grime Documentary (cal man/ 9.33min)
* Grime Documentary (Cal man/ 9.50min)
* Grime: The Documentary (Prod by Lims/ 29.20min)
* The Business of Grime (British GQ/ 20.18min)
* 10 years of Lord of the Mics (Documentary) - (LOTMVEVO/ 10.27min)
* What’s That Sound?: London (Revolt/ 21.58min) A bit more general, but still some very interesting bkgd.
There are more but the above are good starting points.
I’m off now to start a GRM Daily 4-part official documentary called Together We Rise that looks epic, proper levels. 👌
Devil man killed this
Devilman was there on his ones
, everyone else was with skepta
Always thought it was jokes that Devilman called Skepta Somalian when he looks Somalian himself lmao
Genuinely enjoyed your reaction to this, even if I disagree. I think Devilmans lyrics and punches are way more disrespectful and that's the main point of grime clashes. In grime people didn't clash to say how they were gonna kill their opponent really cos those bars are cheap. It was the "schoolyard" disses and rude shit that made you the better mc because the war is about who is badder on the mic. Devilman is a rare one that people barely dissed because he can roll off the most creative and rude diss tracks easily and no one can say shit back thats gonna hurt him cos he doesn't care and loves the beef. One of the greatest clash mcs of grime history in terms of mixing creativeness with disrespect. Always love seeing a non UK don sharing their perspective on our culture, keep hustling bro.
Devilman would’ve won if he was allowed to bring people, the room was 60%+ skeptas boys so it’s slightly impossible to gain the same energy
It was 99% skeptas fam. Devilman only had a driver with him.
double l and dialect vs izzie gibbs is a pretty good grime clash worth watching
Yo crazy thing I just recorded Dialect P101 freestyle man did a nice one for Leeds.
I gotta check the clash man needs to come back to music.
You should check out Devilman - Chipmunk Diss, so funny, and the only clap at Chip that was worthy in my opinion
will for sure check this out bless.
Mad thing I found Skepta through a Devilman diss. Now I know Nasty is about him and can put a face to the name. The record has a whole new weight now.
Leng = gun
Love ur u.k reactions bro. I see u dug deep into the origins of grime. Would love to see ur reaction to ghetto- threats. Ft griminal and brutal as I know ur familiar with them with the "ghetto birthday set" reaction. "Threats" is proper raw angry ghetto, think u will like it 👍
React to some Whos Da Boss clashes... Birmingham GRIME clashes that are based on tallying up reloads, I suggest 'Jeyeye vs Eyez Mastered (full clash)'. An underated Lord of the Mics clash is 'Bashy vs Demon'... put those on the list of GRIME CLASHES!!
Added all these to my grime list will start checking these out asap my g.
💥 💥
Bless
Skepta was just repeating bars he already wrote, he can't battle
They both had old/new writtens, Skepta's were just better.
Leng back then meant guns , these days it means a girl looks nice 😂 duno how it transitioned
Right. Maybe because she’s a knock out with the look?🤷🏾♂️
@@Jurnalist_ you could be onto something , ‘bang bang you shot me down’ as the song goes
My guy lol swag to me still means "shit/trash"
Yet now the meaning is basically the opposite
devil man won for sure skepta repeated his shi, also crowed hype means nothing in br uk as all the men there are skeptas boys, as skepta told devilman not to bring his boys cause skepta is scared of devil mans boys
Lotm 2 rage vs fudaguy. Griminal fuck radio. There's also a yt channel for old channel u videos. Check it out
You know the yt name also what is channel I?😅

Sure devilman got beef after this or somethint to do with calling skepta that 2:30
