Tip ahead You can remove ashes of war from your weapons without losing them so that would be a good way to test what’s good. It seems like you duplicated sacred blade because you thought the ash of war is permanently applied
You came back and absolutely bullied that Grafted Scion. Same one. You just went out, hit the gym, started drinking protein shakes, benched 300lbs, and came back like a new person 😂. Also, people hate on Raya Lucaria, but it grew on me. A lot of little secrets and a great atmosphere.
GAMEPLAY SUGGESTION BELOW: Actually, you can use an ash to apply a weapon buff to both hands: have it on your left weapon, and no ash on the right (right overrides left with two weapons). Two hand the left hand weapon, use the ash, switch to dual wielding, and use the ash again. In this case, have sacred blade Uchi in the left, and remove Unsheathe from the right hand Uchi, replacing with a blank. Otherwise, as you surmised, greases will work.
Achenar has discovered the utility of Ashes of War, and there was much celebration 🎉 Honestly its my favorite system in the game, gives you so much flexibility to your build when not using unique skill weapons

The acadamy of Raya Lucaria gave me that magical feeling when I entered it too, pun intended.😁 It's my favorite legacy dungeon, Im bias because I love all things magic!
Incant spoiler ..... Black Flame is actually one of the most powerful spells and usable upto and into dlc with good effect due to chargable status which adds 30% dmg vs uncharged version for a rather fast cast and being enhanced by several talismans you haven't seen yet along with using the Black Flame seal for extra 10%dmg with black Flame incants. For example with 60 faith I can hit upwards of 2k dmg depending on talismans and buffs for the simple Black Flame 😊 there are a lot of sleeper incants in-game that do good dmg for low cost and why testing on enemies is useful.
Testing area advice...... Grace at Gatefront is idea for general item/weapon testing against npcs without too much risk to see how item/weapon work against actual npc enemies.
My magic/Faith user issue 😂..... It's me, not you, but seeing an unused memory slot pains me as a hybrid faith user, and I didn't think it would 😅 Play on good Sir enjoying the blind playthrough.
