WTF???? my dad took me here when i was a toddler, this is where i was introduced to aviation. cant BELIEVE it's closed, i used to come here by myself and just pass time.

Just been to take my daughter for the first time and it was all closed unlucky we went on the day its closed. I wonder where the farmers have to divert now that lane is closed as they used that lane alot....
It's a shame to lose what was a really good spot, but at the end of the day it means we'll be CAT III capable on Runway 09 now as well as 27 so in all it's for the best!
This is the first i have heard of it being closed PERMENTELY!!!! what is is the reason for this ? Does anyone know as to why apart from some DIRTY SMACKHEADS using it to score a hot or three etc, etc. Or maybe the odd couple going for a late night horizontal pleasures ( if they can get horizontal ) 🤔🙄😏 or whatever position takes their fancy. 🙄🤔😉😁 Either way i would really like to know the real genuine reason please as to why this lane has been closed off. As was not informed of it ( i didn't know anything about it's forth coming closure). i use to go up there with my scanner to listen to the airwaves ( before they went bloody digital😠😠😠) Didn't really bother much after it went digital. But, did really enjoy it very much then. But, just like a answer please to my question thanks.

Hi Andrew, you can spot a Viscount Drive (Next to flying school) at Liverpool Airport. It has a mound & car park.

If you're on about the Aviation Park at Manchester thats ruined. The mounds have gone closest to the action and been replaced by a new private terminal. As for South Side. That's safe for now.

Yeah deffo
Not a runway expansion as such, we should be getting a CAT III ILS for 09 which will be situated at the opposite end to the Runway (so in Dungeon Lane). For a CAT III ILS there has to be an exclusion zone and clear area around it so the signals are not disrupted. So that's why the lane is closing
