I loved the 1st house they saw. It had a small, concrete, overlooked garden which can be turn up and grass added but with 5 bedrooms, including that huge master that an ensuite can be added to, coupled with extending the kitchen to add value, at 420k, 120k below budget, that was a nice property.
Yes, more, more! I'm on summer holidays, and supposed to be doing sth constructive, but I'm just watching these bloomin' things. Although I'm a (very homesick) Brit, I live abroad and had never heard of the programme until a few weeks ago! Watched hundreds of Escape to the Country over the years on RUclips, also all the uploaded episodes of Escape to the Perfect Town and Fantasy Homes by the Sea. I was going mad. So finding this programme on RUclips has saved me. Thank you, thank you RUclips and all the people who upload these things!!😍💜💙💚💛❤️
Yes. I don't care how old they are. I love Kirstie and Phil's chemistry as well as their individual personalities and I like nosing into houses. I don't care if it's an old show and the prices are out of date. I'd love to just watch the whole series beginning to end.
I'm the same. Watch them all the time. Love looking at all the different styles of homes and their interiors. I especially like cottages and houses with character.
When a back garden is all concrete squares or flagstone etc. it can always be broken up, then prepped for laying sod. I'm really surprised Kirsty has never mentioned this option.
My assumption is going to be that because it was so long ago, that their contact information has since changed and that no longer have a way to get in touch with them.
Why are people so obsessed with thinking they won’t be able to put their “own stamp” on a house that they already really like?! Do they not know that they’ll be bring their own belongings with them?🤦♀️
Some people have vision and some don't. I have trouble with imagining wall color. The brighter the color, the more I have to resist the urge to paint everything white. It's a knee jerk reaction.
2022 The majority of sales in Brighton and Hove during the last year were flats, selling for an average price of £325,131. Terraced properties sold for an average of £524,555, with semi-detached properties fetching £560,416.
They’ve definitely had the worse side of the housing boom. Over 17 years their house has probably only put 40k-60k. Houses in my area have easily tripled in the same time
I agree, why did Phil take the risk for them? They were happy to pay the price as it was under their budget anyway...also Phil then just leaves them to get on with it and find their own house (he just gave them a contact?) I love this show but this episode really annoyed me...
Its the overheated UK market - people prefer to make money than secure a home. Check the stats - in Britain there has never been a contraction this century, even 2008 was a minute 1% and the past two years has been insane
Clearly this was filmed 2006 as the clients were originally filmed looking for properties in 2005 - Kirstie and Phil went back a year later to see how the couple were getting on................
They are very good friends though as are their partners with one another. But, you can be forgiven for thinking they were they have such great rapport and chemistry.
The typical UK house interior is so different from a typical U.S. one. You never see bathroom vanities in UK homes, just pedestal sinks even in larger bathrooms. The tilework in many kitchens and bathrooms looks like the homeowner ran out of tiles for his project. Refrigerators and kitchen sinks are so small and impractical. I've never seen semi-circular shower stalls in the U.S. and find them unattractive. So many UK kitchens only have base cabinets, which is a huge waste of wall storage area. I've only seen radiators in the houses in this series. Most homes in the U.S. have forced air furnaces except in old houses--and those are mainly in the East. I imagine many people in the U.K. would think U.S. houses are as odd as I think theirs are.
So true. The land mass of each uk country is small given the population. So many very old homes that can be 300 or more old too. Such character and history
It seems to me that US homes are in empty voids with no facilities close by. They may be big but they lack soul. Granted the UK has serious issues but the older properties can be made up to date without losing the charm. Usually on the big plus side a bus or station is close by. In 2024 I'm horrified by what you get in London for a million pounds. NOT MUCH. Such is life.
I HATE people who sacrifice part of the main house so their brats can have their crap all over the living space! They should have a nanny, but instead, have to grow up with infantilized parents. They aren't going to die by having to play in their own bedrooms, and you can limit their mess to one or two toys - not a mountain of plastic CRAP to trip over. Children's paraphernalia indeed! Stupid and vulgar. Children raised as little kings and princesses grow up disorganized, spoiled rotten, and cruel. Think of your guests!
This was aired one year after their original episode, so 2006. It's easier to upload older episodes than newer ones. If you want newer episodes, you're better off going to the source and not rely on RUclips, lol.

I could completely binge on these if you posted more and more often. Just saying... Thanks!
They're already posting these fast enough. What do you want them to do? Post 15 videos a day? lol God.

Have you been through the Episodes of Escape to the Perfect Town or Fantasy Homes by the Sea yet?

I love watching these two, wish I could find more of their shows

You are right. They gave up a house that was 120k below budget because of a small concrete overlooked garden that can always be changed.
This was in 2005! Wouldn’t it be great to go back and see how their lives were after all these years ☺
My assumption is going to be that because it was so long ago, that their contact information has since changed and that no longer have a way to get in touch with them.
How do you know the date of when originally shown this episode? I keep trying to find where it is posted on this site.

8:40 this house is absolutely beautiful!
Hooray another great show! Excellent content!

It is rather odd.
You dont understand the English - we've been brainwashed by mountains of property shows and a stupid market.
They are talking about Reno’s….

Amazing how many people buy a house because they like the way it's furnished, and they are not buying any of that.
Great programs, absolutely LOVE the follow-ups showing the final outcome.
Love these two. Never disappointed. Xx
Love this show, post more and I will watch. Thanks.
Binge this kind of shows love these a lot hope you post more
shame the seller reneged on the deal but the couple found somewhere better in the end so it worked out well
I think the house they found was better than they said.
👍👍👍 All Homes is THE channel for Location Location Location episodes. Best Volleyball is a WASTE OF TIME channel.
seen, NICE house they found.
Why did they offer so much under asking? Especially once they knew the price of the the comps?
They offered what they could afford
Would you suggest they offer over the asking price?

Agree, the restorations were high quality so it was kind of insulting.
I ❤ Brighton
I wish you mentioned the year this was filmed.

Vendor accepts an offer and then reneges on the deal.....are there no laws to govern fraudulent property sales?
Just what I was thinking. It seems too unfair to accept an offer and then withdraw the property from the market.
@@karent-s7639 :Looks as though it was a lucky thing for the buyers in the end
Nothing is set until signed
Omg the iMac G3! 🤣
I watch your program all the time in New Zealand. Are your two married?
No they are not - they have worked together on various shows for a long time however
They are very good friends though as are their partners with one another. But, you can be forgiven for thinking they were they have such great rapport and chemistry.
Kirstie, what's with those BUTTONS!?
She has no fashion sense 🤦

Couldn't agree more.
My goodness, hate is a strong word for people you don't know. The children live in the house, not guests.
Spoken like a true old fart
Yep, don't spoil them.
@@d.d.mac.3773No the children often take over the house. In fact the children are guests because the house belongs to their parents
This was originally filed in 2005!! Why is there a follow up 17 years later? Probably its more than 10 years old. Not watching.
But taking the time to comment... I agree that it would be useful to have the year of filming shown at the beginning.

Its you tube not the original source. If it was recent they would have it removed by the producers.
