I have 100 miles in the 860 v14 now. I bought it, not as a stability shoe, but as a versatile daily trainer based on Yowana's early review. Also I was looking for a shoe that would be comfortable for easy-moderate pace long runs. One great thing about the 860 is that as a neutral runner, I just don't notice the stability elements. I don't need them, and they just stay out of the way. The shoe can handle all my paces - 7 min/mile is pretty fast for me and it eats that up. It's the best shoe I've ever used for slow recovery runs, and the stiffness in the forefoot, as you described, makes it responsive when I want to be up on the forefoot, running up hills or doing strides, where my pace will be around 5'40". Sure, it's not optimized for speed workouts, but it's versatile enough to feel good for occasional faster running. I'm a fan of the 860 v14 as a running shoe, not just as a stability shoe. I hope more people will try it in spite of the stability pigeonhole.

I think Yowana’s raving review is responsible for half of all the 860s sold today 😂

Have the current 860 and love it. I rotate between them and Kayano 31 both are great. I wear a wide (4E) in both and have found the NB fits just a little better in the toe box area. Head to head I do like the NB best, really good trainer for me. Looking to grab a couple more pair.

I also picked up the 860 in part due to Yowana’s review. I don’t need stability, but I have big feet and was looking for a daily trained to soak up miles in a 15 4E. Not a lot of options in that size, but this is a great shoe for daily miles. Being a larger runner I also like that it is firmer than a lot of New Balance offerings. Don’t get me wrong, I like the 1080 for short recovery runs, but it’s nice to have a firmer option with that New Balance fit when you’re putting a lot of weight into your stride.

I got about 200 miles so far with my Vongo V6 . It is holding up very well besides the fact that the traction is still good but the rubber never did anything to soften the impact. It took me about 40 miles to start liking a lot the shoes. Now I also got the Gel-Kayano 31 and I'm sorry to say (since I'm also a NB fan) with bear 50 miles ran and it is softer, more comfortable, more bounce , less heat from the upper , I can run faster and the grip is 10x better.
The Vongo v6 is a good site and I got to try the 860 some time.
But at this moment , Gel-Kayano/GT 2000 > New Balance stability shoes.

860v14 is a great shoe. Didn't like the v13 but I picked up 2 pairs of the v14.

How does the film compare to the wave plate in the mizuno wave inspire?

Sounds like NB have reverted 860 v14 back to a proper stability shoe, compared to the v13, which I found an unstable mush-fest.

Since these are not good for lateral support, which shoes are good for overpronation/supination? Thx so much!

I had 4 pairs of vongo V5 and have run 100km in V6. I think this is an accurate review of V6. V5 offered more forefoot support than V6.
