Kido and Smith are by far my two most favorite characters in this entire show. They could make this show just about them and it would be perfect. The Kempeitai and the Abwehr working against each other.
Absolutely right on. The two villains and their controversies saved that show. The main line involving that girl and the entire resistance thing are comparatively cliché and boring in my opinion.
And i don't forget Minister Tagomi as well. Not a villain like the others mentioned, of course, but a most interesting character in the entire context.
You left out the best part; when Kito first finds proof and the sergeant asks Kito what should they do next and says the Yakuza are still powerful and Kito responds in the most bad ass way: “There can be no compromises”
Ofc, the Kempeitai are military police who oversee the entire countries’ law enforcement in the mainland and occupied americas. Yakuza are just organized crime, and could’ve been destroyed at any time but they tolerated them so they can use them, as soon as they had proof of their collusion with the Nazi’s they were eradicated at once. In the words of Chief Inspector Kito regarding how to go forward with the Yakuza; “there can be no compromise”
0:56 why do they assume there was a problem with their conduct? seems more reasonable that whatever message was just relayed to the boss was the reason for the interruption
That's not realistic; real kempetai were way more brutal and sadistic. They would arrest the yakuzas and then they would torture them before killing them. That's what they did in any place they were.

Isn't John Smith apart of the SS
@@thorpeaaron1110 Yes, the Allgemeine SS.

The Chief Inspector looks so cold and evil in this scene, he must’ve been so satisfied to finally kill the Yakuza leader.

Even the yakuza is no match for the kempeitai

The Kempeitai do better hunting the Yakuza then actually hunting down the Resistance
The enemy you know vs the enemy you don't.
I love that song playing in the background
Any idea what the song is?

I hope they appreciate the shopkeeper making that cultural effort. ("Did you bow low enough?")
MITHC had some awesome side plots like the Kempeitai, wish we saw more of "regular life" in the PSA and Reich States
It feels like the empire is raiding jabba the huts palace and destroying the crime empire 😂
Hadn't thought of it that way, but this comparison really does fit.
The inspector doesnt even look at the yakuza boss until he shoots him. Nice detail. Guess he cannot stand the boss' shame
This show is so awesome I loved it but the ending was so rushed ngl
Thx for this master
Does this playlist mention about "VA Day" scene?
No, I don't have any clips of that
Wait what if the background song is Plastic Love by Mariya Takeuchi instead of Otemoyan by Eri Chiemi
I don't know what the song is.
funky!!
Better if they played senbonzakura by wagakki band

They're scared for their lives. They didn't know they were being stashed for their own safety.
I always enjoy seeing RJ Squalls. Idk why.
DJ Squalls is a very endearing actor

Maybe the Chief Inspector had some affection for the yakuza boss. He murders them all very politely.
