In this case, Doug was obviously prepared for it, but this should be a reminder to everyone how expensive ooooowning a specific car can be!
Hey I live in Columbus, Ohio and Evan’s Automotive it’s not too far from me! Over the years when I drive past his shop, I have seen countless of beautiful exotics over there sitting outside. A few years ago he did some work on my uncle’s 1991 Jaguar XJ6 and George has always done great work. Your Countach is in great hands!

Dude, Doug already went to a lot of detail in a previous video when he first purchased the car. He actually explained it much better in that video than this one. Sure, there was some quality-of-life mods, but the wing and suspension work were definitely a service visit.
Thanx for sharing. You have a very nice stable of cars. It's always great to see someone actually driving the machines, that is why they were built, and taking care of them. Cheers to you good sir.

I’m glad Doug is doing this stuff because there’s no way I’d ever be able to even own these cool cars, let alone keep them easily and dependably useable.

Just my opinion sir, love your channel and congrats on being able to afford a $50K service bill! 🫡
It's all about the driving experience, how it makes you feel. Acceleration, top speed, lap times, handling - don't matter. There will always be a car that has a higher top speed or a lower lap time. But, there are few cars that can make you feel so good.
that thumbnail brought back some memories. My brother growing up had that picture with the leds in it above his bed with the mansion and the garage with the cars in it, man, that was awesome to see, truly a moment to relive in the past, yet so simple.
@@prasad530 I know I got mines from Spencer gifts in the mall. It was probably 25ish years ago, 1998-99. The original image has a red 360 coupe, yellow 996 Turbo, silver SL55, white w/ blue stripes Viper coupe, and a red Z8.
The best video I have watched. Listening to a true enthusiast. Humble approach to such incredible cars. There is a reason Doug is the top RUclips car enthusiast.
The best of all possible 'spoiler' alerts. Were I in your position, I'd have made the same decisions you did and for the same reasons. Now let's have some _extended_ driving videos of that CGT with a fully-mic'ed exhaust!
Love the update Doug, great reasoning for everything you're doing---perfect. Logan and I look forward to seeing these beauties at upcoming RSF CC! Have a great holiday season with the new addition to the family!!!
I loved your explanation for the CGT! Your enthusiasm as a driver comes through the screen. Im a car guy, but also a gun guy (1911s). If you have a high end 1911, there are a small number of gunsmiths that will actually add value and provenance to your gun with their work. You always mention that one of those guys built, or worked on your gun It sounds like your 2 "mechanics" add that type of value in the exotic car world
Evans is the best! I lived near the owner for years. He has an amazing barn full of exotics. My favorites are his Ford GT and Ferrari F40. Glad to see you are using the best for service.
When Doug brought up his experience with his Countach, this just made me look forward to whenever he's able to get his hands on the Aston Martin Valkyrie since that car is in many ways like the Countach in the sense that they're both absolutely ridiculous cars. I know Manny Khoshbin has a Valkyrie Spider on order so hopefully Doug will be able to review it once it arrives.
I don't like that comparison at all... Valkyrie is meant to be driven hard with track engineering meanwhile Countach has worst visibility on the planet and isn't even that good to drive hard They're both exotics. Along with dozens of other cars.
It's crazy to find out that Doung doesn't like the 90° angle on the back. That for me is one of the best things on the carrera GT and the one that makes me love its desing over any other car ever made. if I ever can get one, I'll always have it with the roof on and the spoiler down.
Has Doug ever given a garage update? I mean an update on the garage itself. He used to be in a somewhat normal attached garage with his collection of license plates. Then (was it when he bought the Countach?) he moved into this underground concrete bunker which looks enormous. What is this facility? It looks like a supervillain's lair.
Hey Doug! Love the videos! I wanted to let you know that "We Are Curated" in Florida may have both a Vector M12, AND M12 concept and I know you wanted to review a M12 so I wanted to tell you! Hope you see this and keep up the great work!!
I've always said the Carrera GT looked like a pickup truck lol. It's definitely not a classically beautiful car. The 918 Spyder is the Carrera GT done right, in terms of design.
It sparks much joy that doug really just bought this insanely expensive car and is doing everything he can to drive it and make it do what it was meant to do. Rescued it from its last owners.
I like your beater supercar thought. I once had an '86 Mustang GT, and an '84 Porsche 944. The Porsche is the one I drove in the winter while the Mustang was in the garage. Being in MN, there's lots of salt used in the winter.
Grinding going into second is most definitely a synchro. You can double-clutch it to get more time out of it. Clutch in-neutral-clutch out-clutch in-2nd. I used to have to double-clutch my old 88 Mustang LX 5.0 SSP with a T-5 when upshifting from 1st to 2nd. I got really quick with it with practice.
When I heard Kennan, in the track video, saying the CGT's suspension has been upgraded, I truly felt heartbroken that doug didn't tell me about it... Now that he has, I'm okay 😏
Dougs acting like a prolific car modifier now. I have never spent so little relative to the value to get such a great upgrade. Dude was driving a stock kia a year ago
You absolutely know how to enjoy a beauty! Respect all the reasons why you have spent the money which I find every reasonable cost since being bringing you more joyful in driving the baby!
Well Doug, you may say you’re not the 50k guy…but apparently you are. I can honestly say, that as my yearly salary is just north of 50k….that I am NOT a guy who spends, 50k on servicing my Carrara GT…And it’s all voluntary! So, while we enjoy your content, we sit and watch rich guys spend crazy money on their crazy cars, while we drive used carrollas and such. So thanks but no thanks…
My 997 Turbo had a hydraulic failure on the spoiler left side. I bought the Renkit electric replacement lifts and it took me about 6 hours to do the install. It think it cost me about $700 for the kit with the required spanner wrench. What I noticed right away was how much faster it deployed. And like you I want my spoiler up all the time. The heated seats are definitely a plus, I don’t listen to music when I have a NA V10.
Ugh… now I want a carbon fiber NSX-R wing and KW coilovers for my 92 NSX… I also did the same maintenance thing to my NSX last summer. Sent it to “THE” guy and took care of everything on a 32yr old car. Now it runs perfect and I’m confident in taking it anywhere.
As soon as you said Ohio, I knew it was going to be Evans. The company I work for used to use them to service fleet vehicles years ago, as one of their buildings does all sorts of exotics, and the other just regular stuff. I haven't been there in a while, but I've driven by and seen a lot of cool stuff. I didn't get to see the Vector M12 they were working on a few years ago which I would have loved to see. Shop could be in a better area. It is on Morse Rd, which goes from really nice to really bad. It is near Easton Town Center, which is a nice, upscale shopping area, but then you are walking distance to the hood as well. All the exotics stay inside when they are gone at least.
The fact that you *drive* these cars is what I like the most about your collection. They're all designed to be experienced on the road (and the track!), not just sit around and be admired. Although, I've got to admit, I'd do a lot of sitting around and admiring if I had your collection. 🙂 Glad to hear they're all doing reasonably well so far. Thanks for letting us live vicariously through your videos.

They're both exotics. Along with dozens of other cars.
@@papa_pt I was more referring to the design over what purpose they're meant to serve.
It's crazy to find out that Doung doesn't like the 90° angle on the back. That for me is one of the best things on the carrera GT and the one that makes me love its desing over any other car ever made. if I ever can get one, I'll always have it with the roof on and the spoiler down.
Thanks Doug for the hot top not to park my $1.3 million Carrera GT with the spoiler up!
Always like a bit of sarcasm😬
I use to have that garage picture with the house on the beach, it said "Justification For A Higher Education".
That's the exact place where Hitler lived in obscurity until his natural death in the 70s.
Missed a big opportunity at 14:18 to say “More useable means more miles; more miles means MORE SMILES” 😂
If only Doug knew about $20 Bluetooth fm transmitters lol
Doug girl mathing his explanation for $50k service
It sparks much joy that doug really just bought this insanely expensive car and is doing everything he can to drive it and make it do what it was meant to do. Rescued it from its last owners.
Doug living the 2000s dream i mean i am too but i don't have doug money an s600 and a few jags will do
That's not a service...😅 that's upgrades/tuning/modifying
Explained in the video
I like your beater supercar thought. I once had an '86 Mustang GT, and an '84 Porsche 944. The Porsche is the one I drove in the winter while the Mustang was in the garage. Being in MN, there's lots of salt used in the winter.
Ah, yes. I can vividly remember the first time I saw this car. I told my friend who was walking beside me: Wow, the new Ford F-150 really looks good!
Now that he has, I'm okay 😏
good lord liltte Miss Drama get over yourself
@@slowery43 don't take anything you read too seriously man... Just for the humor, I'm good 👍🏾
Thanks Doug you reminded me to put down the spoiler on my Carrera GT I almost forgot
Dougs acting like a prolific car modifier now. I have never spent so little relative to the value to get such a great upgrade. Dude was driving a stock kia a year ago
I miss that Kia! I still think of it fondly.
@@DougDeMuroprobably can buy that Stinger back for the price of a CGT spoiler mod
the photo for the thumb nail... growning up we had this hanging in the family study and it had some quote like aim high or something lol!
Doug the type to lick his fingers before he swipes his iPad.
You absolutely know how to enjoy a beauty! Respect all the reasons why you have spent the money which I find every reasonable cost since being bringing you more joyful in driving the baby!
Doug is the type of guy to want heated seats for his San Diego car.
As a former San Diego resident, 65 degrees is cold for us as we don’t own pants or socks, just sandals and shorts!
You really are missing only one thing. A Subaru Baja
Doug's the type of guy who lives in SoCal ... and wants heated seats.
Doug knew exactly what he wants with this car I love it. Passion
Doug flexing on us for 26 minutes.
I love Doug's approach with the Carrera GT, here. Removing his obstacles to driving the car, so he can drive it more and enjoy it.
Love the new garage!!
Doug as he says, “my garage … “ Dude: Doug, you have the garage - structure and contents - of an oligarch … Hats off to you!!
AT 5:53; Doug Doug Doug,...The spoiler down is the very best look of this car at any speed. GudGawd. Mindblowing
Doug, I think those of us who truly love all cars don't mind a slightly longer video for such updates. Keep 'em coming.
Doug’s the type of guy to spend $9k cuz his spoiler sags an inch when it’s parked in the garage
