    You did not update or include your actual usage on these rotors after you have put some miles on them. Mine are vibrating after 1100 milles. The last one had a terrible vibration and Arashi replaced them, I had had them within a year. I have checked the complete front end of my bike and everything points to the rotors, I would be curious what your feedback would be after now have some miles on them.

    Hi when you hold on to the disc the part were brake pads touch the metal and you move from side to side there should be slight movement from the disc from the center becouse obviously thats what there designed to do yeah ?

    Hi, James.
    I have a question. What's your opinion about these Arashi brake discs? Can you recommend them? How many kms you are using them?

    • @TheChemistDIY

      Im going say their just ok, the run out the ones i got are off a bit causing a bit of a wobble when applying the front brakes. I still have them on and have put about 6k on them hoping they would ware in but its still slightly present..

    Great vid. Quick question and hopefully you can help me. I have the Arlen Ness G3 Floating Brake Rotors. I happened to notice the other day that the Front Brake Rotor hardware kit (Screws, washer and lock nuts) are loose (Some play) while installed, I figured I'd tighten the screws and that'd be it However, this did not work as they are all in (Tightened to the max) Bottomed out. They are still lose and flimsy which makes the disc wiggle quite a bit. Aren't these supposed to be firm and sturdy while installed and doing their purpose between the brake disc and the carrier? Please advise..ty

      Well yes and no to answer your question. There is a difference between semi free floating and free floating rotors (spring washer vs. no spring washer). The difference between the two are great. Race bikes that ride the track for instance use full free floating rotors. These things are lose as hell and when you hit a bump or hit with your hand will chatter like if something is broken or lose. This is designed that way so they self center with ease at higher speeds and cornering when breaking.
      Semi free floating have a stiff thick spring washer behind the button or bobbin as they call it. This is to reduce that chatter sound and is most commonly used on street bikes. Not everyone wants to hear all that rattling or chatter but still want some of the performances aspect and usually go with these.
      Mine for instance (shown in the video) have broken in and now started to rattle when hitting with your hand just like the full free floating rotors. Because you have play is not necessarily a bad thing because you specifically bought a performance rotor that says in the title "free floating" and is designed be this way, else you would have bought a stock OEM rotor. The only way to stop this chatter or looseness is to switch out the button for a larger diameter one reducing the gap and add a stiffer spring washer to reduce the amout of play between the disk rotor and aluminum mounting hub of the full assembly. Does that make sense?

      @@TheChemistDIY I would like to send you a few pics possibly a video of what I am talking about so that you can see more precisely of what I am talking about. The G3 Floating Brake disc is installed on my 2004 Road King Custom Bagger, so no race track bike or none of that. If you would send me an email where to send the pics to, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks James.

Using the Gamespot app I found and agree that all seven reviews for this product are fake. I checked on who the reviewers are and I found that all reviews coming from those reviewers were done for all products that they reviewed on the same date. This further reaffirms fake reviews for this product.

Brake is fantastic but after cca. 1000km of driving, on 30,40 km/h when im in process of stop my bike i feel some wobling, not on my handle bar, not on brake lever it just feel like 1/2 of disk it brake and other 1/2 of disk it dosent brake. I dint damage disk on any way or something like that it just start to happening. My front tyre is old 2years and it is on 10k km. Any suggestion what could be? Thanks

      In the discs spec, they did not mention "ABS". My bike does have ABS. Does ABS matter for the disks?

      They've served me well, can't complain. In fact I still have them on my bike. When you consider the pricing for say EBC or Galfer.. at about $240 each rotor this is a steel. I'm sure by now through R&D there even better.

      Ivan I only had 2 weeks into these rotors, not much of a report for you, but for that time I have to say, no issues to report. The look great and feel of quality. Mixed with a fresh new set of HH Sintered pads I get insane stopping power and my lever has also lifted off my knuckles when squeezing. I like them.

    • @TheChemistDIY
      @TheChemistDIY  3 года назад

      What up Brad.. wow what timing my friend. I just swapped them out this weekend. I went back to OEM, got a sweet deal on some used ones in great condition.
      The Arashi rotors served me well.. got 4 years of life out of them and the rotor surface is still in great condition, hardly any groving.. the one major complaint I would say is they went from Simi floating to full free floating. Meaning the buttons are no longer tight and they chatter when you hit a bump or even roll the bike manually. To me it makes the bike sound like something is lose or broken when it rolls.. but for the amount of money I spent it was well worth the purchase when you consider how much EBC or Galferds cost. Just one of those rotors still doesn't equal the cost for the complete set of Arashi's that I paid. I still have the rear Arashi rotor on tho..

      What up James, I still have these rotors and I think it was a great buy for the price. You are going to have to clean the buttons about every 6 months till they break in and I have a video on how to do that. But a side from that small detail you won't regret the buy.

    • @TheChemistDIY
      @TheChemistDIY  6 лет назад +1

      Luke Albanese.. I'm going to say there ok.. I ran into an issue with the buttons locking up. Hadn't cleaned them since I put them on (date of this video). I hit the front brakes on the freeway and got real bad vibration on the fronts, felt like a tank slapper without the handle bar movement. I came home and check them out and pretty much all were Seesed. After cleaning that feeling went died down, but still there.. I just have to clean better. I'm going to say these have much more free play with regards to the floating aspect then normal which requires more maintenance. That was my bad AND BEING UNFAMILIAR with a new product.

    • @TheChemistDIY
      @TheChemistDIY  4 года назад +1

      I bought these rotors over two years ago and haven't had a single issue with them. Like everything else it's a hit or miss with Chinese products but for the money spent i can't complain. These rotors are actually pretty dam good but it takes someone to bring light to the good and bad products. To be fair In my years of experience I've had my share of higher quality and more expensive name brands having issues right out the box as well.. so stating cheaper and foreign does not always equal poor quality.. only time will prove that.

      Well, if you like maintenance free then I suggest you stay with OEM. If your the type of guy who likes working on your bike then you wont mind having to clean the buttons about every 6 months or after a good rain (i have a video on that make sure to see what ur in for).
      TWO reasons why i bought these, i just loved the cookie cutter pattern, looks bad ass! And two my OEMs were EoL.. so i had no choice but to replace. OeMs are hella expensive and i wasnt about to fork out $4-500 bucks for the name brand rotors...just ridicules!.that much money and i could have gotten a new full chines body kit, or aftermarket performance add on and really tricked her out.
      I dont regret the purchase, i absolutely love them, they look awesome as they spin or sit, they do have a brake in period, and you have clean them.. if your cool with all that then pull the trigger brother!

      @@obaidr4616 RUclips does have a mix bag of reviews and thats why i too was hesitant on purchasing and why I posted my own review. Stoping power wise is going to be up to your pad selection bro, like i had mentioned in the video i use HH Sinter pads which offer tremendous stopping power with or without OEM rotors. Rotor performance i feel no difference, give them a good squeeze and without a doubt im sure i can do stoppy or launch myself over the bike, lol.
      About the only time i do feel anything different is when the buttons are dirty and youll know this because the bars will shake when applying front brakes, not a good feeling. Other then that it feels and performs all the same.. and yes they are hot looking.. there certainly are an alternative to Gilfords over priced wave rotors.

  • @alejandrotobienne4288

    I’ve never had a button spin. If a button spins it mean your rotors are lifting and time to change. Rolling buttons means clearance is diminished

    • @YumpyTrain
      @YumpyTrain 2 года назад +1

      This is absolutely false. Buttons will spin, rivets will not. They are not the same thing and function very differently.
