Your journey is very interesting. 4 months ago, I also restarted one of my old channel, where I only had posted landscape videos 10 years ago. I let my old videos, as they are, because some of them still get views, but I rebranded the channel completely and just started posting my new content (self-esteem, find your purpose in life). It took around 14 days, and new subscribers came in. The growth is slowly, but steadily. I am confident.
Girl I have 2 other dusty channels and one of very successful channels. I have been planning on reviving those other 2 channels for months now. I’ll eventually do it.
I unlisted a load of vidoes from my figuring out what I was doing days. They were about half the videos! I would keep in niche videos that arent growing as you might link to those from another which can revive them lile magic down the line (as long as youre happy with the content quality). I now have a content plan and am trying to get ahead on the content a bit before I start publishing as I like a buffer between me and the schedule deadline..
Hi! That’s exactly my channel has been lying there collecting dust 😂 Currently there’s 1004 subs, I’m restarting my channel, and changing my niche to what I do as a guide. Thanks for the video and motivation!! Cheers!! ❤ Oh btw, the channel is with another Gmail account 🎉
Women, particularly girls and ladies, tend to gain RUclips subscribers faster than men due to several factors. These include their content's appeal across diverse audiences, societal tendencies to support women in creative fields, and sometimes more engagement through relatability, aesthetics, or niche markets that resonate with their viewers. Additionally, their presentation style or personality might capture wider interest
This needs to be an even more niched comment bc it’s people with “pretty privilege” aka seen as more attractive that draw the eye- initially. Still have to come w the value.
Hi Alexa, my understanding was that if you unlist a video, the watch hours no longer count toward your public watch time hours (for monetization). Are you saying the hours do still count? (I’m trying to figure out which is the case)
The channel I’m commenting from is 17yrs old with almost 3000 subs and they’re mostly from my one video that’s had 1M views of a doowop group singing in the NYC subway. None of those subs are my target audience. On the other hand, the number of subs means I’ll monetize again faster and also have “social proof” for new subs. I’m not sure what to do. Revive this one or start a new one with people actually interested in the content I want to post?
I say if you haven't posted anything on it in 17 years. Just revive it and move forward with it. Once you post say 10 or so videos in your new niche, YT will figure out who you are targeting now and start to push your content to the right people. No reason to throw it away and start from scratch. You may see some subs drop off in the beginning but that's ok, it's all part of redirecting yoru content.
I'm glad you restarted your RUclips channel. I really learned a lot from you.

Great to know that I DON'T HAVE to start a new channel
Good idea to unlist rather than delete videos. I never thought of that.
Thanks for all the helpful tips. It’s so very appreciated!
Yes of course! Thank you for watching!

Well then I must not be a lady 😅 it’s just the content, the networking and overall how many people are looking for your content and so much more.
I’m female but must not be a lady (I’m no girl) because am not getting views, likes, comments or subscribers for any reason

I would love this clarification as well as I unlisted a video and it appears I have lost the watch hours.

If you change your niche of an old channel, should you change the name of the channel?
If so, do we have to change anything else, is it easy to do?
Yes, if the channel name is irrelevant. However if it is your name then there is no need.
Can you do for as restarted step by step RUclips canal ❤😊
Oh that sounds like a great idea! Adding it to the list!
Thank you so much ❤@@AlexaSaarenoja

What if my channel is not old, but it seems like my channel is being cancelled by the algorithm?
Have you done anything against their rules? That might be something causing it.
@@AlexaSaarenoja I paid for an "SEO" expert to help me get views and subs... ever since then I feel like I have been suppressed.
I've dm'd you about something useful
My RUclips Channel is 4 years old and just have 35 subscribed thet is it😂
