I agree. I’m pretty sure it’s just the monitor. I wonder if his other ma Jones take the same time to wake from sleep using that monitor. M1 is supposed to wake instantly.
M1 Macs only go to 16GB because these are entry level configurations. The higher end configurations will most likely support more, like the higher end intel versions do.
Can you smoothly play back RUclips 8K 60fps videos in Safari or Chrome, videos such as ruclips.net/video/h3fUgOKFMNU/видео.html or do you experience a lot of skips and stutters when you select "4320p60" in the RUclips video settings. Just wondering about this.
@@TheGQBrotha 4k, 4k60, 8k works great, one can have multiple 8k videos running simultaneously and it works just fine with no fan. At 8k60 it stutters. Not sure if it's the CPU, since the usage never rises, must be something that is blocking it at 8k60.
@@bugged1212 - Thanks for the info. It’s very weird because on my i7 Mac Mini with 32GB memory and a Vega 56 eGPU Safari actually plays RUclips 8K 60fps using 40% internal GPU, 10% eGPU and the CPU is at 14% and the Mac Mini fan never comes on. I wished we could use an eGPU with M1 or future M1X or M2 SoC’s for Mac. Then again the future M1X or M2 hardware will be even more powerful in their internal GPU’s, given how powerful M1 already is. So they will probably handle RUclips 8K 60fps playback easily with that improved GPU performance.
@@bugged1212 In Chrome on the other hand RUclips 8K 60fps on my i7 Mini skips and stutters like every 5 seconds of the video and the fan revs up loudly with over 90 degrees CPU temps. So obviously not as watchable as in Safari for me.
The M1 Mac Mini has serious Bluetooth drop-out issues that Apple are now aware of. I need Bluetooth for keyboard & mouse as the MM is part of my stereo system. When it works, the M1 version is astonishingly fast, gobsmackingly so! I'd honestly advice anyone who's thinking of buying one to hold off until the BT issues get solved.
Thank you
Are you sure it's the mac mini that's slow to wake up? The macbooks are almost instant. It could be your monitor.
Same thing I thought. Why would the Mac Mini be so much slower to boot if it's the same hardware inside a different shell?

Great review, thanks. Just ordered one as my IMac is 6 years old. Can’t wait for it to arrive.
Hello, Are you sure you can daisy chain the monitors with the Thunderbolt? by what i saw online, Apple does not allow it.. i hope you are right
Great job !! 👏👏👏👏
Keep going.
Great Video Man! I love the M1 Mac Mini. 👍

When will the higher end configurations be available?

That slow monitor wake up will drive me nuts!
@@LostMachinima Yeah they are. No 10G ethernet, only 2 Thunderbolt ports, only 1 HDMI port, no EGPU support.
Soothing voice. Bravo
Nice review!👏
Excellent video!!! Subd, liked. Thanks!
Just watched an 8k video on mac mini M1, CPU usage was 3.5%, WTF!

Thanks for the review. I'm in NZ too. I think you should ditch the background music - or if you insist on keeping it, you should dance while you talk.
The monitor quality was just awful
