You are going to either have to throw them out cause they won't be very productive the following season or just plant them in a pot/garden and let the bulb recover from forcing them to bloom after a year in a pot you should get pups
Yes, Patty Bell, you can. Just cut the extra foliage and roots down. Dry them out well. Place them in an onion bag or paper bag. store in a cool dry place until you are ready to plant them again:)
It is very difficult to get a bulb forced in water to re-bloom in subsequent years. The bulb will re-flower only if, after flowering, the leaves are allowed to remain and absorb enough sunlight to feed the bulb for a new flowering cycle. The bulb may then be stored and cooled, or planted outside.
My husband just got me a force white flower in water. I can't plant it in the ground because I live in an apartment. What do I do with it after its done blooming?
Generally, bulbs forced in water are treated as a one-time bloom and then they are added to the compost heap. It sounds like you have most likely been given Paperwhites.
Question. After they bloom, what should I do? Do I store them again or do I just leave them in the vase?
