The Ocala one is right around the corner from us! That bowl with the queso is a US Navy officers wardroom dish! Their Enchiladas Verdes are great, you get 4 of them, no rice or beans, but a great dish you can share.
I have heard that how one taste cilantro is actually genetic. Some perceive the flavor as good, while others perceive the taste as soap. Don't know how true that is but I'm glad that I good the 'good' cilantro gene :)
My husband and I both have the unfortunate gene that makes us taste soap/or a chemical type flavor. We also both detest olives. We keep trying them..but that has never changed for us. I wish we liked it! Would make eating mex. food so much nicer.
I call it “my guys.” Don’t speak a word of Spanish. Other locations in Beverly Hills and Crystal River. BTW, the city of Inverness is pronounced IN ver ness
We have seen other locations too and been to a couple of them! Yeah we lived there for a while and after living there, it seems people pronounce it a couple different ways.
I can not stand cilantro. (Cilantro-haters for whom the plant tastes like soap, the issue is genetic. These people have a variation in a group of olfactory-receptor genes that allows them to strongly perceive the soapy-flavored aldehydes in cilantro leaves. Some studies showing that nearly 20% of the population experiences soapy-tasting cilantro.)
Excellent culinary critique, T.Y... Subbed, and always a thumbs up...
Thanks so much! We appreciate the support! Have a blessed week!
