I was visiting my grandparents in South Carolina when this song released in 88 and I was 9 years old. My cousin and I were in her Cadillac coming home from church. When she stopped for gas I had this song playing on the radio. When she came back, heard the songs lyrics and saw us singing to it, she beat the hell out of us. She shock on her face made the beating worth it.
When you said your mom played it a lot i literally laughed out loud! I think we're probably the same age. LOL!
I am 63 & I remember when this came on the radio for the first time. I was shocked. Such a sick sick beat. Love this today as the first time I heard it.

It’s hard to pick a favourite song from this band but this is definitely up there
I used to teach aerobics, and could keep up with one or two of their songs (not while singing them myself), and have such respect for these women who can sing and dance like this for a full concert.
They were on the last New Kids on the Block tour with Naughty by Nature, Debbie Gibson, & Tiffany. It was called the mixtape tour. You can imagine it was one hell of a night. The previous New Kids on the Block tour had Paula Abdul and Boyz II Men. I had stage side tickets for that one. Got to touch all the guys I’ve got a rose from Boyz II Men.

They still do concerts every year with other old schoolers from that time. Always great.

I was listening to this album back in the day and a little boy from down the street was in my house with my little sister! He kept asking if the were saying, “Smoosh it” and my friends and I all said, No, Push IT”! He replied with “Huh?” I said to him, “It’s over your head! You’re too young to understand!” 😂 I was in ninth grade at the time and little sisters were 7 and 10 years younger so the boy was probably somewhere in between their ages.
