Table saw dust collection UPGRADE

- I finally had enough of truly horrific dust collection on my old tablesaw, so I had to change it. What I came up with should be useful to most table saws on the market as long as they have an open base. I’m super happy with how mine turned out!
Here’s the @HookedonWood video I strongly suggest checking out - • All you need to know a...
Here’s an affiliate link to the dust hood I used on Amazon, it doesn’t cost you more, but it helps out the channel: amzn.to/3OcUMNt

Many apologies for my specs hitting the mic in the first half of this video, I thought I nailed the audio finally as well, but still got work to do on that one! LOL
I also have an axminster table saw and im forever opening it up and cleaning the saw dust out of it. Your idea is brilliant and i think i will have to copy it. thank you very much.
I think I saw something similar mentioned online once so I had to try and figure it out for myself 😊
Top stuff Dean, looks like a successful job done. Be interested to see it in action.
Thanks Paul, I’m crazy happy with it 😁
Great laugh right there over the mmm you know errr thing down the ZERO CLEARANCE thing😂😂 I’m there with you. Great mod to that saw. Give me some thoughts that👍
Really useful video Dean. I like the magnet idea as my very clever slotted home-made gaffer-tape dust shroud around the lifting wheel kept falling off. Job for today!
I’m really pleased it was helpful!
That worked out well Dean, quite impressive, Dennis's video was very interesting and came along at the right time for you 👍.
Definitely!
Thanks for posting this. You didn’t seem to get much dust from your trim router. What dust collection were using, please?
I think it looks better than it was, but no dust collection attached. The spiral bit helps some dust evacuate below the piece which helps
Very interesting video Dean 👍 helps me massively.. as I’m on verge of setting up a table saw in my workshop, thanks and cheers Rob
Thanks very much Rob! Best of luck with your saw 👍
😁 Nice one Dean. Dont be surprised if you see me doing something simular to my tablesaw soon 😁. Great videos, keep them coming 😁👍
LOL cheers Frank!
Dean, that dust extraction project really sucks! Looks like you are going to have a better system now. I'm going to have to look at my DeWalt table saw and see where it leaks. I get a fair amount of saw dust under my saw. Thanks for the video.
😂 thanks David, I’m super happy with my dust collection in the workshop now. It took a minute to get there but now it’s done, and on a budget too!
The fit of the funnel was uncanny a job well done. My site saw gets an old shower curtain hung in front of the outlet draped into a bucket. Let’s have you back on your feet again soon.
Thanks Steve! Anything to get the job done 👍👍
@@WoodworkJourney while you’re laid up I’ve been watching an Australian he does very long but entertaining shows called woodworking masterclass. Not to be confused with Paul Sellers you might enjoy having a butchers.
Really nice job. I'll likely be doing something similar.....once I get a table saw and a dust collector 😄 The community I live in has a full blown wood shop for the residents so I have access to a table saw there but I'd like to have my own so I'm not having to transport the wood over and back nor try to work around the hours the shop is open (4 days a week) or when the equipment is broken.
Thanks! Best of luck with yours!
I liked your video and got the funny number!
I can't believe Axminster didnt make the original port match the panel wtf!
Mental isn’t it, what’s worse is that I think the new saws are the same!
Very interesting video. Please offer a few comments on the actual dust extractor that you use. Thank you.
It’s an old Clarke Woodworker chip collector, 1hp I believe
@@WoodworkJourney Dear Dean, Many thanks for your quick and informative response. Happy woodworking.
Great job!!!!!!
Thanks!
Great video !! thanks
Glad you liked it!
Would have looked spectacular if you’d had blown a big cloud of vapour over the top 😈👍
Good job Dean 🤘
😂
Another great real-world fix Dean, good job 👍
I do like Dennis's videos but can get a bit disheartened sometimes. He must have spent thousands on all his kit, and that black mdf he's so fond of is about a hundred quid a sheet! Hammer and gaffer tape for me too. 😁
Thank you!
That black MDF does look the bees knees
though doesn’t it, Peter at 10 Minute Workshop uses the same stuff I think.
To be fair a full sheet of decent ply is around that price these days 😭
Thanks
Thank YOU very much 😊
