I would say run the piston as well just in case the locator pins aren't exactly in the same place. The rings even being spun a tiny bit will through off where they are broken into the cylinder at. Just my food for thought. The piston will also be worn to the cylinder and will seal the best.
I say that's negligible. You're not wrong, but I'm not gonna worry about that. The pistons on Echos and Poulans are often a bitch to swap. Not worth it to me.
I just got a Charles Briscoe built 353 Husqvarna and it is very similar in performance so far to my ported 4910. Both are excellent saws. I’m not sure what the difference is with the 4920 but those 4910’s are an excellent saw ported and it’s a must to change the air filter system to an A2 or a velocity stack with a 4” foam element. They pull a 20” bar with a 23RS chain with ease in the cut!
I like to be able to turn the high jet in and out while running the saw. Takes about 5 seconds to tune. Easy with spline drive adjustment screws. The carb I installed on my g372xp has unshrouded flat head screws. Got rid of the rubber boot, slid short pieces of echo fuel line over the screws. Even if you don't like to turn the screw while cutting the fuel line makes tuning way easier.
👊, I was hoping MT on other post would try and answer or he just has the mind set you get what you pay 4. In this case if an aluminum handle, bar nuts and spark plug boot color is worth an extra $225 go 4 it but...
From what I know, the 4910 has been discontinued. I can get a new in box 4910 for $325. Do you think it'd be worth buying and would parts still be available going forward? I've done a lot of research and the 4910 looks like an amazing 50cc saw.
I know Ive asked in on another videos, but is it worth JUST doing a base gasket delete on the 4910? Its my only saw so Im hesitate to attempt my 1st porting job on my 4910.
Depends on you. You like messin' around with shit? Then yeah, go for it. Do a muffler mod while you're at it and you're bound to notice a difference. Have fun!

@@novicelumberjack you're not wrong there, they suck to get the pins out and those little dammit clips are a bastard anyways. Lol.

4920 is a totally different saw. They are clamshells.
I like the red too for some reason.
Golf tees work great for plugging fuel lines.
That's a good one! I'll have to get some. I don't golf.
Love my Shindiawa 492! Also love my Jonsered 2252 because red saws rule!
Yes they do!

👍👍
I've seen a few base gaskets that looked wet with oil like that upon teardown of 2t's that had no signs or symptoms of an air leak🤷♂️

That 4910 cylinder is very different from a 490 which has externally 'capped' transfer ports and much smaller volume and port size.

Yes parts will be available, I'd jump on it if you want it. Great saws!
@GASparky217 they still make the 501P so you have parts
Your better off getting a 501p
Absolutely.
@@Mastr-Tech is it worth the extra $225?

What 2 stroke oil are you running ? Red Armor?
