YES to re- imagining fabric!!! I went into Zara one day… found a skirt that I LOVED (a full , drop wast) that was $110 Can. The pattern of the fabric was a copy of a designer fabric in her current clothing collection. Two hours later, I went into Winners (Can version of TJ Max) and found a thin shower curtain, on sale, of the same fabric from said designer. Hacked a current pattern that I had, and made my fav skirt (still five years later, for $17.25.
Oooooh! When you pulled it from the wash, I was ready to pull my hair off, as I loved it white, and I was like WHY WHY WHY! But the subdued colours in the end turned out sooo great! I like all three, but the first one (tulle skirt) is probably my fav.
@@OrlysChannel, Orly, you are going to make me go to the thrift store today and buy some lace table clothes, because the design created here and in the previous video are such a vibe. Have a wonderful Sunday, love!
I admire your ability to just 'go for it' with fabric! I'm always scared to cut into any fabric, thrifted or not, unless I have a pre-planned design. It's hard for me to imagine the result from a flat piece. And of course everything you wear looks fabulous on you!
Gorgeous! The dress reminds me of Scarlett O'Hara if she decided that velvet drapes would be too hot for summer, so she used a tablecloth, and she wanted it to look like a Monet painting. I love this dress!
I would consider removing the dye with oxiclean and dying it again! It is so gorgeous and you are so clever. The movement in the lower dress is perfection. I love the way you kept going instead of tossing it out as a fail. It would be gorgeous for a spring wedding/event as a pastel, if you decide to change it. I also love the ecology of reusing fabric!
You are a flipping genius. Using the gores like that was the perfect way to flare the skirt but keep the scallop edge. Such a beautiful shape. And I can't believe how fearless you are with dye! I'd be terrified that I would ruin my beautiful creation. If I try this, I will dye it first to limit my losses if it doesn't turn out.
So lovely! What a creative use of a lace table cloth. I love this! I use them for ruffles and edging all the time, but this takes it to a whole new level!
I love it! It's unique, playful, versatile & very flattering. The tulle was my favorite. I would even wear a capri length bodysuit or leggings in any of the colors, with the front held in place, open, with the belt, for a retro Barbie doll flair.
I made a sleeveless, full length shift dress from a tablecloth to attend a wedding rehearsal dinner in Barbados 20yrs ago!! I had enough left over to make a hooded wrap since the breeze was cool after sunset Once again you've brought back my love for the unique in personal style😘💕
Hey girl, you're awesome as usual !! So glad you have been doing dresses. My two-year-old granddaughter just discovered princesses and now will wear nothing but a dress. I have been taking some of my old clothes and trying to make her a few. You inspired me to take some old sheer beautiful curtains that I have no use for anymore and make her the most beautiful princess dress. Creativity=Freedom=Peace
I love it!.I have several old lace tablecloths so I might try your idea.I liked the white better but you transformed it into something really awesome. Thanks for all your tutorials and inspiration.
Oh my gosh it turned out perfect!! You couldn’t have planned it better if you tried, and we know you did - ha ha. Your tutorials are always so much fun to scroll through. Thank you for being so giving of your time and sharing your talents with us. I’ve been sewing for about 11 years now. Focus has been on quilts and baby clothes (plus I crochet everything!!) my newest gift has been sewing up dresses without a pattern. I make my own (thank you Lord!). So .. coming across your DIY videos have given me some fun ideas. Hugs to you!😊
Wow ...who's gonna know! ♥️♥️♥️ Beautiful and sooo creative👌🔥 You work the fabric soo well and the flow once it's on you ... beautiful. Well done you ✨💯
That's a beautiful dress. I often make tops from lace tablecloths. I even dye them sometimes if they are found off color. Rich reds & greens etc. Added lace from a tablecloth to the bottoms of pants. Took 2 of the same tablecloth & added it to a plain cover let and did the same w/ pillow cases. I put the lace over a pr. Of purchased pillow cases. Etc. You can go wild w/ lace tablecloths, curtains too. Sheer curtains can be machine embroidered and made into clothing. And the list goes on.............Lace in fabric stores are VERY expensive. I'm on a really tight budget, so lace tablecloths, curtains etc. Do well. Sheer curtains too. Even rich colored cotton tablecloths.
That tablecloth was just beautiful, so you started off with some great textile. You really got a great eye on picking the fabric/tablecloths that will give you more bang for the money. I had trouble flowing the direction, but I am sure it just me. First, I was wondering why you choose to dye it and I was terrified when you took it out the wash, glad you did not give up on it. I love the end results of the dye job; it gave a watercolor effect. The styling with the tulle skirt was my favorite look. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come
I to had flipped a table cloth into a dress for my daughter when she was in grade school, she loved it and so did everyone else. It was just beautiful.

Personally. I don't like white so any colour will be good 😂 but it came out beautiful 💜
Like a light denim blue would look nice on a lace tablecloth skirt
This is gorgeous!, I like the grey ruffled slip the best!
It looks amazing!!! The best one for me is the one with the grey petticoat.
Absolutely gorgeous! I have the exact same tablecloth, it won't remain one for long! Love your videos!

I love it, but I would have kept it white! Loving the lace/crochet DIYS!
I liked the white
Ooh, me too with the crochet & lace! What a clever, gifted girl you are! Love F X
Wow, you are amazing, my preference would be to keep it white….For a wedding….Very well gifted ! Have to watch more of your designs…
I was thinking a black or dark navy color would have been nice too. OR a solid wine red or forest green. Something dark.
One of each pleeeeeaase!
Gorgeous! The dress reminds me of Scarlett O'Hara if she decided that velvet drapes would be too hot for summer, so she used a tablecloth, and she wanted it to look like a Monet painting. I love this dress!
hahah omg I love that visual!

I love the grungy colors with the crochet. It makes it a lot more edgy and cool.
I love it! It's unique, playful, versatile & very flattering. The tulle was my favorite. I would even wear a capri length bodysuit or leggings in any of the colors, with the front held in place, open, with the belt, for a retro Barbie doll flair.
oooh love that!
That belt....I NEED THAT BELT!!!
I made a sleeveless, full length shift dress from a tablecloth to attend a wedding rehearsal dinner in Barbados 20yrs ago!! I had enough left over to make a hooded wrap since the breeze was cool after sunset
