Shock wave is the BOMB and its awesomeness has lasted to this day in 2021.....I rode this in 80-81 when it opened.....it was considered high tech coaster technology back then......love it!
I remember riding the shockwave in the early 80’s being a young girl and riding in the front seat always, I thought I would fall out of my seat on the first loop! Love it….
The Giant will always be the best, imo. Exciting, but smooth. So much fun without being scary or destabilizing. I loved it in it's original form and I love it now, just as much.

My favorite ride to date is still Titan followed by Batman and then Runaway Mountain. I think they could add a lot to runaway mountain by doing a light display like Disney does inside. Could be really cool. I also LOVE the swing ride. Those are always so fun to me.
i got thrown up on that ride the fist time i rode it.. traumating and i now have a fear of being thrown up on on a roller coaster or throwing up on a roller coaster LOL
@@yourmom8949 It’s called Airtime, it’s mostly on ride types like NTG. Everyone experiences it. If your small like me, you’ll get thrown up high, if your an adult, you won’t get thrown up as high, but still go up pretty high. It’s normal, so don’t be scared :)

Back when the Runaway Mine train was first opened, my brother and I rode it 75 times in one day. It was the most interesting ride in the park at the time.
I have been to SFOT over 10 times and im today years old when I learned there was a fucking log flume. It also took me till visit 8 to realize shock wave even existed. that park sure is hard to navigate

I just went yesterday after not having been in years. Gotta say the Texas Giant is now one of my favs after they upgraded it. It’s so smooth now in comparison to the whiplash you’d get back in the day lol. But Riddler was my absolute fav. Feels like you’re flying. I could legit ride that one all day long. Titan was great too. The Justice League one was not great - dirty screens take you way out of the experience.
Tip usually everyone like to go to the Texas giant and titan area first so usually I go to DC first then when I see DC start to fill up that’s when I start making my move too Titan and all the other areas
@@shockwavedan Yes it has. Our last day of operation was June 30th of 2019 and ONLY closed due to construction of Power Wave and pandemic. So just barely over one year. It still needs mentioning. It's the only original ride left in the park. If it wasn't for the pandemic.... it would be open right now.
My top 5: 5. Mine Train 4. Runaway Mountain 3. Mr. Freeze 2. New Texas Giant 1. Titan Batman, Judge Roy Scream, Shockwave, Sky Scream, and Roaring Rapids round out my top 10 with Yosamite Sam as an honorable mention for a nice wind down ride.
Funny joke about the pov on Runaway Mountain. Unfortunately there's more light in there these days. I agree with Mr. Freeze low ranking because of pain, but think Runaway Mtn and Batman suffer from the same. Didn't find Joker painful.
My 100% correct opinion now has Mr Freeze at #4 and Shockwave #5. Mr Freeze gets edge because of intensity. Top 3 Giant, Riddler, & Sky Screamer. I was wrong before to rank Mr Freeze low.
Riddler would stay in my Top 3 if it weren't for the restraint. It is too tight. Still an awesome ride experience as long as you aren't nauseous from the heat or having just eaten. I hadn't just eaten, but because of the heat and the tight restraint, this is the closest I've ever come to getting sick on a ride. Except for Rodeo. I hate that ride and El Diablo. Shockwave is now up to 4 in my rankings just behind Freeze ... so my judgment has continued to improve. Although I love Joker it's my #10, so I'm obviously wrong there still.

Just recently went to 6 flags and let me tell you, it has completely changed in the last 15 years. The rides are fun but the service is TERRIBE. extremely rude workers. Its DEFENITLY gone downhill
So sad to see the park become a glorified Midway. I remember when the park had distinct areas dedicated to the countries that flew their flags over Texas. Now it's just one big vomit comet after another.
