Totally dig what you do man I'm definitely gonna give some of these records a listen. Quick question if you don't mind what are some cool punk Venues over there in Texas???
The End (Houston) TripSixx (Houston) Paper Tiger (SA) Kickbutt Coffee (ATX) I don't go to Dallas often, but there are lots of places in all of our cities
I had to pause near the beginning to check out that False Truce album, and it was great! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can locate a cassette up here in Van, but the digital copy off of Bandcamp will have to do for now. 🤞
@@thepunkrockreview i actually went back and did a quick skim of sam town and its not as boring as i remembered. i liked hot fuss and day and age more. after that i lost interest in them. sams town has a handful of good songs though and when you were young is one of my favs by them.
adam [and his package] had a hilarious live show. that record came out in 2001. my guess...hopeless wasn't selling his back catalog and no idea was likely his mail order distributor at the time.
If I were to recommend any records in specific, Seasons of Sickness by Cancerslug. If you like old Misfits, back when they had Danzig, then you'll love Cancerslug. Seasons of Sickness is one of those records where every track is a banger.
You might like Scoopy Don't (Billy D4 old band), Butcher's Union ( Paddy D4 and Billy D4) , Kung Fools. I should know more off-hand. Check out Bad Idea (Tim Kelly from Kung Fools, and I Forget what other band the singer was in, but its sound is close to the Paddy band Cleveland death).
@@thepunkrockreview You're welcome, here's more Tightwire: they were called the Drones on bloated Kat records. umm Supportive Parents, I think Matt was in a band called Gloria. Sorry, I worked at Triple Rock for 7 years ( D4 Eric Funk's bar Plus been in the scene since a kid). I know of a lot can't think of them all right now.
I have one of Scooby Don't demos still. Last time I saw them they were busy sound proofing the basement of the house they were renting in Minneapolis for shows sometime in the 90s. Haven't seen any of them years, except when I ran into Matt where he was working at a cafe in Ashland WI when I was up north vacationing with my girlfriend.
Check out The Steady 45's (from Los Angeles), Le Birrette (from Italy), The Bandulus (from Portland), 8°6 Crew (from France), Vieja Skina (from Peru), Travelers All Stars (from Mexico...actually they play skinhead reggae), The Upsttemians (from Spain), Smooth Beans (from Spain), The Skints (from England), Red Soul Community (from Spain), The Prizefighters (from Minnesota), Green Torrejas (skinhead reggae from Argentina). These are some current ones to wet your whistle.
1:30 World Burns to Death have a horrible reputation. Drug addicts and they have screwed over other bands from receiving payment. Idk how they are holding up these days.
Oh seriously? Dang, that sucks... not too surprised, if I'm honest, a lot of that crusty d-beat type stuff has some gnarly people involved. Thanks for the heads up
Yeah it does. We had a personal experience along with other touring bands. But I hope it’s not a thing with them anymore. I can only hope people do better, no grudges here.
Can’t wait for the full live of a day at the shop think it would be a cool vid and content 🤘🏼
I'm looking for a way to hook up my phone to film and where to put it and I'll absolutely do that.
Digging this format!
Yeah i think this is permanent. People are really liking it and i like having a break in the visual monotony with the background change
Finn McCuntly was good for one thing its how i found your channel and glad i did, Rock on brother
Thank you! Welcome to the community 👊 😎 🏴☠️
I love the goober patrol shirt in the thumbnail... I still jam them . Have for over 2 decades.
Heck yeah, great band!
Its funny the first upload of yours I catch you mention the town I live in.
Which town would that be?
@thepunkrockreview Gainesville

Lessgooooo!!!
that gaslight anthem reminds me of a less boring version of the killers in their sams town era
Oh man, I love The KILLERS, too! At least their early stuff

It gets complicated, doesn't it? lol
@@thepunkrockreview yeah, it was a very different world before the 'internet age'
Hardcore recommendation - Mama Dropped Me "Last Atomic Cow"
Never heard of it

I probably shouldnt plug em... But I felt You Vandals Abandon was a great album. 😂
(You mentioned G-ville and dont get more g-ville than that)
I love World Burns To Death. I have that Gaslight Anthem album but it haven't clicked with me. Maybe I should give it another spin
Oh man, it's a perfect record!
Is there any serious ska music?
Tons! Most of the early stuff is serious, but most people think Reel Big Fish as ska, and that barely qualifies
