Audix D6 has a huge mid scoop that’s prob why people think it sounds like it has more low end. Sometimes you do need that midrange on Toms depending on the genre. Great vid ! Keep up the good work
I LOVE these types of legitimate, blind tests by people that are open minded and humble about their knowledge. Well done. Keep it coming. One of these days, I'll come say hi at a Dinbatz show.
I use all Audix mics on my drums. D6 on kick, D6 on floors, D4 on rack toms, and D2s on high toms, i5 on snare top and bottom and ADX51s on cymbals. I DO also use a Shure Beta 91A inside the kick as well. They never disappoint.
@@chrishammillaudio Is it necessary to do a blind listening test when giving one's own opinions on a product? Blind listening is used to dispel rumors about the relationship between price and sound, and to test how different products actually perform in mixing without being prejudiced by brand names and models (of course, in reality, whether it's a live performance or recording, the sound is quite different from the original after mixing). So I don't know what your video is trying to convey?
@dogohouseinstrumentgear3574 That’s literally what the video does lol. Zaki played a beat with several different types of mics so you can download the tracks yourself to experiment with. He openly admits to being biased to using a D6, so we tested his ears with several mics to see what he thinks and give his honest opinion as a practicing musician and producer about the product. Nowhere in this video did we mention price, so I don’t know what you’re talking about. We literally use different mics with the same drummer, drum set and same beat, and give you the multitracks so you can form your own conclusion if you don’t feel like listening to us. 🤷♂️ I really don’t get what you’re rambling about, but my video conveys a message pretty clearly and I’m sorry you just don’t get it.

Absolutely. Stop by.
Lauren Tom mic is on the top my list after trying everything you’ve tried in this video. Awesome stuff thanks for the content!

The natural eq of those mics sound great.
Just saw the video of the MD421 Kompakt. It will be interesting to see the differences between them :)
Make sure to download the multitracks and mess with them in your daw.
@@chrishammillaudio Thanks, I will.
Why ask a guy who knows nothing about microphones at all to do a blind listening test? What's the point?
The point of a blind test with a pro producer/mixer is to give an unbiased thought and perspective of various microphones. What are you talking about?
