      I always love it when manufacturers check in and figure out what their customers are doing with their products. This isn't my first StompBoxParts product and I've been impressed by all of them. Thanks for the support.

    You should add epoxy to the circuit board to make it more faithful to the original and who knows, maybe it will improve the tone.

      I thought about that for a minute but then I thought to myself... nah... that's messy. 🤣 Who know? It might make it sound different.

      Thanks Gary. This pedal sounds great. They're aren't really any bad sounds in it. All the knob positions seem to sound good.

    Sweet, I just finally got my JHS Notaklon. I still need the time to build it.

      I've seen that kit. It seems pretty cool. Looks really simple to build. They've done most the work for ya. You'll have to let us know how you like it.

      Im starting to build up a big pile of easy but takes time, DIY Musical gadgets that I need to build.. on a side note, I just got the new error instruments sampler (the brickie, not the new eurorack one) it's a Father's Day gift. It seems like it will be fun and super lofi. I let you know how it is after Sunday.

    I've often thought about getting a klon klone. Seeing one being built and then used is really helpful. It's very tempting.That's a sound that I really like.

      Thanks for watching. It's a really cool little circuit. It does some weird things like boosts the 9V power up to 18V internally (via charge pump) and it uses a dual-gang gain pot so it's actually turning the unclipped level down as you turn the clipped level up. It's very different from a tube screamer or fuzz face or DS1. I think that's why all the tones are so great. There's not a bad sound in the box.

      @@musicalmiscellany Do you own a Rat or Rat clone, and how does the Klon compare?

    • @musicalmiscellany
      @musicalmiscellany  3 месяца назад

      @@midi_in Yes. I built a Rat clone a while back. You can find a video somewhere on my channel. It's very different from the Klon. One is really aggressive hard-clipped distortion and the other is more natural tube-like soft clipping. Both are capable of mayhem but two different flavors. Personally... I love the Rat and the DS1, but there are so many good overdrive circuits out there... who can choose?

      @midi_in 3 месяца назад

      @@musicalmiscellany Ah yes, I've found it. I see what you mean. As you say, they're different and it's difficult to choose. Probably a case of 'why not both?'!

      @@midi_in For what it's worth, I think every guitarist should have a distortion (DS-1, Rat, etc), an overdrive (BD-2, Klon, etc), and a fuzz (Fuzz Face, Big Muff, etc).
