    Where you guys live has bucket list riding for some of us. Glad to see you getting your own version on something so iconic. It would be great if it all went smoothly but the troubles along the way often make these things truly memorable. Awesome as always!

  • @famousaimless2
    @famousaimless2 9 месяцев назад +2

    Oh the memories!
    I loved the different levels of ecosystem you get to ride through- pines coming down from Burro Pass, the aspen trees, the low bush through Hazzard, the desert landscape rocks and cliffs, the sandstone ledges and jumps. Knowing about the long but gradual climbs past the middle helps, but it still sucks. We’ve always left a truck with a cooler full of drinks at the riverside parking area. Put this ride on your Bucket List twice!

    One of my second most favorite trails ever. I rode in Moab back in 1994 and have yet to make it back. If I ever return, this will be a must ride for me, but I probably won't do a repeat of the Portal. I absolutely loved riding the Portal back then, but I was less than half my age without a care in the world.

      Wait... what is your most favorite trail??? I was in the same boat... did all these rides in the late 80's, early 90's and rode everything including everything on Portal. Great video! A few comments: #1- Your dad is a beast! I did it on my 50's and that trail was/is pretty demanding. #2- Can't believe that wheel lasted that long with the damage it had and the terrain there. I usually overinflate a bit for those backcountry journeys. #3- Your unpreparedness is the reason I haven't switched to e-shifting. ;)
