Banger work. About Grian Mumbo and others playing TCG, if it happens it'd awesome that the veteran players put together a sort of pokemon adventure with harder and harder gym challenges for them to achieve and badges to get and progress to the next gym.
Getting flashbacks from season 7 here where you kept packing everything you possibly could into the pyramid! (And that's a very good thing.) I love how detailed your TCG pyramid is, especially with the use of colourful blocks - that's always been your specialty and signature build. But creating a whole card exchange in detail as you have... gah, the hermits are so lucky to be playing on the server! I mean, I usually have some kind of "oh, I wish I could play on the HC server but it'll never happen" but this time, with all the TCG stuff my sense of need and urgency to play, to trade, to open packs, has skyrocketed. I'm so envious it's a sin and I'm an atheist lol The design of the card exchange area is satisfyingly all in order and easy to find what you want. I really hope the hermits make use of this. I'd love for your pyramid exchange to be hopping while TCG is played on the other half. 01:50 It was interesting that you called out not just Mumbo and Grian, but Iskall and Stress for not playing yet. I know Stress has stated on stream that her mental health is one of the reasons for not yet coming back to HC, and I imagine the same for Iskall. Plus their focus is on VH anyway and not on vanilla MC. It would be awesome if they were able to come back and just play TCG without making episodes and getting nasty comments about the lack of hermitcraft but I fear that's unlikely. I know Iskall in particular would love this game so it saddens me a bit but mental health is more important than anything else. Hopefully Mumbo and Grian will play soon. And the card exchange may be a way of helping the newer players catch up!
True but those burn and poison effects can just be placed on the floor, since its the bottom rows that are effected. Not like it happens often or obstructs the gameplay in anyway.
Hey Cub, for the card exchange, maybe put a light or something else to show which barrels have open deals? That way Hermits don't have to look through every barrel every time.
I love you're calling out even Iskall and Stress, the last hermits who still haven't been drawn back to the server by the TCG. I wonder if it's gonna happen >.>
The excitement in your voice explaining your ideas for the Card Exchange made my day. Great episode! (And an incredible idea having the exchange and the game modifiers)
It might be worth to have the hermits put the date, even just the day, into the deal paper. Then you can see who put their deals in and take them away after a week or something. Then you don't risk purging a deal that may have only been out for less than a day
Speechless. ❤ From playability to final touches, each portion of the overall build is interesting on its own, but everything is cohesive. Genius sharing his toys. This season’s download will be awesome! Thank you!
the interiors in cub's builds are sooo pretty, and i'm so impressed with the tcg arena, i would never think to use those block palettes but it's so striking and cohesive!
Since every posted trade consists of 3 items, a glass pane indicating the status, the card up for trade, and the piece of paper with the deal terms on it, you could arrange them vertically in columns instead of horizontally and be able to fit 9 trades per barrel instead of just 3 since it's 9x3.
The pyramid is so so cool! I love the game modifiers and the card exchange, they make a great addition to the TCG, I'm looking forward to seeing them used!
Love everything about this! I really appreciate the effort you put into making the pathing to the exchange as fun and easy as possible, from anywhere in the pyramid. The database of every card is also pretty insane. Can't imagine how long that took! Great stuff, cub.
Fabulous upgrades to the pyramid, the jingles, the trading hall, the details all so professionally done Cub, wouldn't expect anything less. Creating those catalogues for all of the cards had to be time-consuming and tedious. Great job!
Randomization option: My brother and I used to play a very chaotic house rule for MTG games called “Land Drop” which was, essentially whenever you had mana sources in your hands you could play all of them all at once. I think that could translate to HCTCG pretty easily. Whenever you have item cards in your hand, you can play all of them. (Not effects; just item energy.) Hermits could be played and fully charged in the same turn.
I love the card exchange! I think something that would help it would be to add a Redstone lamp that's connected to a comparator that shows a barrel has a card in it. That way, hermits don't have to get tired of opening empty barrels. Great job Cub.
I would change the glow lichen with some bushes with hidden lights under, would make the outside a bit more appealing than a big blob of sand with turtles. Love the TCG pyramid, totally getting season 7 vibes when going through those tunnels
Nice addition of the card exchange. The jingle for gaining a point is good. If there’s space, can you also add a “Womp womp” for when someone is out of cards? IJevin lost to Etho by being unable to draw a card and there was confusion when the red stone lights didn’t come on anymore.
Card exchange seems like a good opportunity for the hermits to use their heads. Leave behind a head as the person offering the trade, and as the person accepting the trade. That way if any trade is ever made incorrectly, they know who to contact.
Cub, you can do multiple deals per barrel row, just seperate the deals with the glass panes. So it would look like this for every row: glass pane, note, card, glass pane, note, card, glass pane, note, card
Modifier Ideas: Thorns, every time a hermit hits a hermit the attacker takes 10 damage. Slow Burning, all hermits enter the field with permanent burning (10 dmg/round). Fast Draw, Player need to fill up their hand to five cards after each turn. Ready to Rumble, if players have more than one hermit on the board two of them have to be active instead of one. Sharing is caring, all one time effect cards count for both players. True Sight, players can see all hermit cards the other player draws. All the Rage, 50% chance hermits enter the field enraged loosing 50% hp and dealing double damage with their attacks.
Haha..Cub really enjoys putting stuff where the fire/poison indicators are supposed to go. It's prolly not a problem in practice as they can be placed on the floor or whatever, but it's not clean! 🙂
Cub put a lot of time into this exchange. Hopefully they actually use it. I can definitely see beef, Jev, Ren, Etho, and Doc using it. They seem to be the most nerdy of all players so far. Oh and Cub himself obviously
all of the upgrades look super cool! i love the look of the exchange hall, i think it's a really nice mechanic/way for hermits to be able to trade with other hermits that they might not see otherwise!
I didn’t see all the modifier ideas so if there’s duplicate forgive me. This game is lit: everyone is on fire once placed on the board. Beef’s special and water bucket will extinguish. Alternatively you could do tea time and the effect is poison. Total chaos: you’re allowed more than 3 card types in your deck or Fire and poison status effects stack. Decked out: both sides start a match with five fully powered hermits on the board. Limited life: hermits on the board (on both sides) all lose (x) amount of hit points after the second player finishes their turn. If you knock out an opposing hermit, the hermit that got the kill gains (x) amount hit points back. HCBBS: players swap all effect cards in their deck. Or hermits swap decks.
Awesome improvements! For the exchange boxes, why not orient the trades vertically instead of horizontally? That way each box holds up to 9 trade offers instead of 3.
Ideas for TCG modifiers: Sudden death: "All hermits start with 10 HP" Real time poison: "All hermits lose 20 HP every minute" Match time limit + alternative win condition: "Player with most total hermit HP after 20min wins"
you should put a redstone lamp on top of every exchange and tell hermits to turn the light on when they put in a trade so they can just go to the one with trades in it and flick the light off when it has been traded, also the original hermit will comeback and see that the light is off, saving them have to guess and check
Hey Cub, a suggestion for the TCG pyramid, when games are played there, when a hermit wins the game the final prize point button is rarely ever pressed, because they just end the game when they know who wins. What if you make 2 end game and reset buttons that attach to the visuals of the third prize point part of the redstone, so that way when the hermits reset the game the final prize point is lit up and fireworks go off briefly and then the game can reset.
The sounds are great. The audio direction along with visual helps. The song from the TCG shop, would be great if you could work that in somehow. +Create a similar version of it as a victory song at the end.
A suggestion for the buttons for points, start game, etc. How about you move them away from the hallway to the game arena where the copper rods are? That way the players don't have to run that far everytime :) It should also be fairly quick to rewire the redstone since the buttons already are in the same vicinity.
I was behind on Hermitcraft, slowly watching the episodes I missed since December for all the hermits 😅. Unsure if you will see this, but if books can be copied, it be nice to have that book with all the cards copied and place at the arenas and/or the TCG shop. That is super helpful!
i dont really blame tango for not diving into the TCG train like most of the server. he's been working on decked out 2 for over 6 months and wants to get it finished xD
I'm glad you aren't watching Tango's video so make Decked Out better for you. Tango mentioned in his video, though, that while he would enjoy the game very much and enjoys his undefeated status, if he got sucked in, Decked Out might never get finished, so he's going to skip out on this game, even though he really wants to play it. Decked Out is taking all of his time. He started focusing on the game so he can get to you guys as quickly as possible. The rest of the names, I agree, they need to get into the game. That being said, in Grian's video, he mentioned he's so far behind he is a little wary of trying to start now. It seems like someone will have bring Grian into it the game to help him get started and show him he'll be fine.
In order to balance the game a bit more, one of the optional rules could be to lower one's attacks by 10hp every Hermit they have on the board. This could help players who only draw a single Hermit during a game against people who have a few.
3 thoughts: (1) is there a round timer? You mentioned speed matched a while back but IDK if you made a timer. (2) Is there a log book at the arena? Would be good to have players log their matches and build up a cool record of all the matches. (3) are you going to do a league with a championship? Would be cool to see like 10 placement matches and then like a double elimination ladder - paid entry and prizes for like top 2 or 3 places?
Theoretically you could put 9 deals in the barrels. It would look way too cluttered though with every slot filled. 6 would look nice though. Just mirrored on the right side of the barrels inventory.
With the buttons on the side of the dispensers for modifiers, you wont be able to indicate burning or poison. But I do love the idea of modiefiers, it could make each game super unique and interesting
Since only 3 columns in the barrel are needed for a deal, you could fit 9 deals into a barrel. You just initially put green glass panes in the first, 4th and 7th column of the barrels inventory.
I was thinking for like more attraction to the pyramid or any other arenas is like synergy stations/deck building stations. Where there's like empty wall of 42 item frames and people can sort out their decks with each other or just by themselves. Idk just some thing cool that could have hermits just out and about.😊
The pyramid upgrades are really good! However, I would raise the ceiling or lower the floor of the corridors leading to the back, so it’s not a 2 block high corridor. It feels a bit claustrophobic 😅
I'm actually quite glad the mentioned (active) hermits haven't played TCG yet - and hope they won't start. Card games are just not my thing and watching people play them isn't either. So, coming to watch Minecraft I'm glad they didn't get sucked into playing TCG (yet). At least you're way of presenting TCG content is bearable and I don't have to skip those parts or even whole videos.
Phoenix might be interesting, maybe it better to mention it to Beef though. If a hermit dies to fire damage, all effects And items removed and comes back at 25ish% hp? Sure… it’s not much Minecraft related, just a fun game setting perhaps?
Cub u should use Pressure plate in front of the dispenser as the button blocks the honey / slime blocks of the hermits that would be placed at the bottom row
Hopefully cub sees this. I've commented it in a few places. Y'all need a rarity cap. Lemme explain. Say normals are worth 0 pts, rares 1 pt and ultra rare 2 pts. Then have a deck rarity score cap. This keeps the game balanced, puts more challenge into deck building. Stops just rewarding whoever has the rarest cards and makes it easier for new players to join in. For example, if you decide you have room for 3 armors in your deck, someone who only has iron vs someone who has netherite, is just at a disadvantage, there's no strategy there, one guy just had better cards. But if including those netherite meant you can't have any double item cards, that's now a tough decision.
You paved the way by building the Pyramid, but here's my suggestion: since this game was inspired by Pokemon, why not having Gyms? I mean, what if every GM has an arena, like yours, and the other hermits could challenge them? Maybe, if you win the challenge, you can get one special card you can only get by defeating a GM
idk if you have space for the red stone but can you put a red stone light indicating there is a trade ready in the barrel to make it easier to see where trades are ready/available ???
Also, for the deals in the barrels, if you go vertically instead of horizontally, you could fit much more than 3! 9 if you pack them in, 5 if you wanted to leave a space in-between each one.
Hey, Cub. Great video! Quick correction: the music you added is a chromatic run and not a ‘crescendo’ as you said. Perhaps you were thinking of ‘glissando’, but that needs to be a continuous slide from one note to the next.
I'm behind on the times apparently lol! Last I heard Beef didn't want a card exchange because it would reduce the need to play games for tokens and for hermits trading. Guess he changed his mind? I've heard multiple hermits say they wanted it after all.
Banger work. About Grian Mumbo and others playing TCG, if it happens it'd awesome that the veteran players put together a sort of pokemon adventure with harder and harder gym challenges for them to achieve and badges to get and progress to the next gym.

Hey Cub, the button on the modifier randomiser won't work, as the honey and slime blocks won't be able to be place there
Lmao I went to the comments the second he did that and there ur comment was at the top!🤣
@@BlueOwl2 same 😂
The exact same mistake as the ante switch lol
If he puts it on the floor in front of the item frame it might work.
True but those burn and poison effects can just be placed on the floor, since its the bottom rows that are effected. Not like it happens often or obstructs the gameplay in anyway.
As someone who is playing the online version, i feel that second painting.
Haha true.
Hey Cub, for the card exchange, maybe put a light or something else to show which barrels have open deals? That way Hermits don't have to look through every barrel every time.

Just when I thought the pyramid couldn't get better you exceed expectations!
Booooooo
Love the new renovations - I really hope people use the card exchange :D
Since every posted trade consists of 3 items, a glass pane indicating the status, the card up for trade, and the piece of paper with the deal terms on it, you could arrange them vertically in columns instead of horizontally and be able to fit 9 trades per barrel instead of just 3 since it's 9x3.
I thought that too, but then someone else in the comments brought up that the trade on offer might be to give or get more than one card.
The hermit exchange isn't a pane-less process, but I'm sure the other hermits will understand.
TCG modifier idea: suggested by a fellow hermit "hermits do -20 to their TCG counterpart self and/or do +20 damage while using their TCG counterpart"
That is one of them already!
3:06 bro just combined among us with a jazz scale
The pyramid is so so cool! I love the game modifiers and the card exchange, they make a great addition to the TCG, I'm looking forward to seeing them used!
OMG, Cub you must have spent days, if not hours, on those books for all the cards and their effects. Good job with all the pyramid changes.
Love everything about this! I really appreciate the effort you put into making the pathing to the exchange as fun and easy as possible, from anywhere in the pyramid. The database of every card is also pretty insane. Can't imagine how long that took! Great stuff, cub.
Love the use of the skull painting as a meme!
Fabulous upgrades to the pyramid, the jingles, the trading hall, the details all so professionally done Cub, wouldn't expect anything less. Creating those catalogues for all of the cards had to be time-consuming and tedious. Great job!
24:00 Can't have the buttons there! Same oversight as the old decoration with the poison and fire status effect!
Randomization option:

It's always enjoyable when Cub uploads a video. Thank you, sir!
Nice addition of the card exchange.

As a Pokemon TCG collector, the catalogues really spoke to me. Love some good card organisation!
4:18 - "I'm gonna make 'em be down by default"
"Down by Default" is the title of my 1990s-style electronic dance music album
Card exchange seems like a good opportunity for the hermits to use their heads. Leave behind a head as the person offering the trade, and as the person accepting the trade. That way if any trade is ever made incorrectly, they know who to contact.
Cub uploads and now my day is complete. Loving all the progress with TCG.
Same
Beef created the TCG, Cubfan effectively created the secondary market around it. Brilliant!
Cub, you can do multiple deals per barrel row, just seperate the deals with the glass panes. So it would look like this for every row: glass pane, note, card, glass pane, note, card, glass pane, note, card
Cub is the most creative player out there! I love his ideas and builds just like his pranks!
Wow. this has got to be the biggest most detailed pyramid Cub ever made
Modifier Ideas:
Thorns, every time a hermit hits a hermit the attacker takes 10 damage.
Slow Burning, all hermits enter the field with permanent burning (10 dmg/round).
Fast Draw, Player need to fill up their hand to five cards after each turn.

"I'm not a fan of the Time Skip ability" lol Cub taking shots at Joe :b
Very cool renovations!

HCBBS: players swap all effect cards in their deck.
Or hermits swap decks.
Awesome improvements!
For the exchange boxes, why not orient the trades vertically instead of horizontally?
That way each box holds up to 9 trade offers instead of 3.
But what if the trade is two to one?
The pyramid looks amazing! The card exchange turned out great!! Can't wait to see the deals that everyone comes up with
Ideas for TCG modifiers:
Sudden death: "All hermits start with 10 HP"
Real time poison: "All hermits lose 20 HP every minute"
Match time limit + alternative win condition: "Player with most total hermit HP after 20min wins"
I can't wait for Scar to completely misunderstand and mess up the card exchange!
you should put a redstone lamp on top of every exchange and tell hermits to turn the light on when they put in a trade so they can just go to the one with trades in it and flick the light off when it has been traded, also the original hermit will comeback and see that the light is off, saving them have to guess and check
Cub: spends lots of time writing all hermit cards
Hermitcraft tcg online:also already did the same thing

1:59 Sorry Cub, Tango is banned from playing HC TCG until he's built Decked Out 2.
24:00 You placed buttons where the burn/poison indicators go again.
Great addition to the pyramid! Can't wait to see the hermits using it!
The Pyramid is an amazing tribute to Beef's creation
Cub, constantly improving and perfecting!
A suggestion for the buttons for points, start game, etc. How about you move them away from the hallway to the game arena where the copper rods are? That way the players don't have to run that far everytime :) It should also be fairly quick to rewire the redstone since the buttons already are in the same vicinity.
Cub is such a boss, dang that exchange looks so cool!!!
The modifiers are a really cool idea, adds an interesting dynamic similar to the locations in marvel snap
The day gets better with a cub video, just the kind of medicine i need!!!
A suggestion: Use discs with recordings of Mortal Kombat theme especially when someone wins, for example " Cub wins!", "Hahahah" etc.
Crescendo is typically about volume rather than pitch. I think you could make that happen with well placed wool blocks?
You're looking for a glissando
The buttons for the modifier dispenser are in the way of where the burn and poison indicators would go.
I was behind on Hermitcraft, slowly watching the episodes I missed since December for all the hermits 😅. Unsure if you will see this, but if books can be copied, it be nice to have that book with all the cards copied and place at the arenas and/or the TCG shop. That is super helpful!

Since only 3 columns in the barrel are needed for a deal, you could fit 9 deals into a barrel. You just initially put green glass panes in the first, 4th and 7th column of the barrels inventory.
Someone might want to trade for multiple cards, though. Like putting up an ultrarare for any two rares, which would need more slots.
An announcer using custom records...
In the blue corner: Cubs... And in the red corner...
Cub wins!
I mean, for iskall and stress to play the game, the gotta come back first.
I adore how your brain works Cub!
You should use soul lanterns on the blue side of the card exchange to help continue the theme
Cub should definitely Hold a tournament in the pyramid arena!
Thank you cub for the effort you put in your videos
Nice addition to the arena!
Love the effort you put in this area ..... gr8 vid Cub
I was thinking for like more attraction to the pyramid or any other arenas is like synergy stations/deck building stations. The extra rules are fun. We used to make our own chance and community cards for Monopoly to spice things up 😆
Wow! That catalog is huge!
Maybe for some of the retired deals, you could give the retired cards to Pearl, and she could sell them in her recycling shop?
Really cool Cub!
Hopefully cub sees this. I've commented it in a few places. Y'all need a rarity cap. Lemme explain. Say normals are worth 0 pts, rares 1 pt and ultra rare 2 pts. Then have a deck rarity score cap. I mean, what if every GM has an arena, like yours, and the other hermits could challenge them? Maybe, if you win the challenge, you can get one special card you can only get by defeating a GM
Cub that's fantastic!!! Epic!!! Great job!!! Congratulation!!!
Gotta wonder if Soul lanterns would be more fitting for the warped side of the card exchange
idk if you have space for the red stone but can you put a red stone light indicating there is a trade ready in the barrel to make it easier to see where trades are ready/available ???
For the PvP hermit section, purple glazed terracota would be perfect!
Also, for the deals in the barrels, if you go vertically instead of horizontally, you could fit much more than 3! 9 if you pack them in, 5 if you wanted to leave a space in-between each one.
Magic the gathering has a game that is called "commander" might be a fun addition to T.C.G.
double the space in the deal barrels by making the far right side have a glass pane also
I'm higly skeptic of hermits being able to follow complex instructions
