55 years ago i was a 16 year old 2 handicap.Johnny Revolta taught me to swing left.He had a seating area for people to watch his lessons as he taught many top players. He watched me hit a couple of shots and said "very nice". He than said " see that cart against the fence way over to the left, hit some ground balls at that cart".People were watching,i hit two more normal shots. He grabbed my club and said "either do what i say or the lessons over."I listened and did what he said.I was 16 and didn't really get it. But I listened and improved over a period of time. He not only was way ahead of his time. He was very kind to me and gave me alot of confidence.
Going to give this a good look. I had a lesson more than a handful of years ago where the PGA Professional was not only selling me new clubs (my choice to buy) but also imparting how I needed to be less steep because somehow I was throwing away lag with an over the top swing. Scores only got worse as I've been shallowing the golf club. Time for a change...
I'll be trying this soon, but my misses are a pull left or hook. I am hoping this helps my back as well. Thanks for your videos. I love your swing. Do you straighten your trail leg>
First of al,l I'm glad I ran across your channel! The OTT swing has improved my ball striking and very much improved my flat shoulder turn. Taking the club to the inside first makes the hip and shoulder turn much easier. Gained 15 yards with my irons so far. Only been trying OTT for 1 week. Always knew Bobby Jones did this OTT [ Huge Bobby fan ]. Always told it was because of the old equipment. Don't believe that's accurate. I believe it was because it's the most efficient way to gain power with minimal effort. Thanks for all you are doing!
My golf teacher has me learning how to swing over the top. Been swinging excessively from the inside for years, hitting hooks. For the first time I can hit a fade, I'm a believer in your videos. Great stuff
I think the most accurate way to describe this move would be “OTT of the backswing plane.”As long as the club comes into the ball and into impact on a good plane, you’re fine. It really comes down to how your body prefers to move naturally. IMO, the less strength and flexibility a student has, the better the inside takeaway seems to work for them. Mainly, because the momentum of the club helps them get turned more behind the ball. In transition, the club would have to come OTT of the original club path on the backswing to get back on the proper delivery plane, not OTT of the proper delivery plane. As a salesman though, I understand, and can appreciate, why you market it this way 😉😎
Using his method, i shot a 72 which is my lowest round to date. I did have a great putting day but i was hitting fairways a greens all day! Love the OTT Swing!

Have to have your dominant hand on the bottom for this to work, granted that is most players but it will not work if your left hand dominant and play righthanded
Good point to bring up. I think the pattern still works even in that case because Bobby Jones said the left side dominated his swing, and he was Over the Top.
Hello christo, I hope you are well. My name is Stewart. I live in Naples, Florida. There is one guy who is absolutely positively never ever over the top. Guess who it is. Lee Trevino he flattened out as I recall. Did he swing over the top. Lee Trevino I don't think so but maybe you can chime in on this. I love your work. You're doing great. So what happened to the Ben Hogan swing you were doing for like 7 years?????????
Nice work, Christo! Disappointed to hear Miller dissing on my fellow Aussie Craig Parry. Craig was a top level tour pro and won all over the world, including in the USA. I've followed him in tournaments and he hit the ball as well as anyone - I've met Craig and he's a helluva nice guy, too.
I hit my irons and hybrids very well and i thought i had a conventionnal swing , until i bought a radar and see it on video .. definitively over the top ... as it work and it's natural to me i ll keep it ...
When what is captured? Hand picked modern players that were taught a specific style of swing? As far as I’m aware, GEARS doesn’t have data on Hogan or any of the guys referenced in this video
It's funny when u put in inside takeaway on RUclips u only see videos of all these amazing coaches fixing it! Don't watch these videos just take it in deep but make sure your left arm doesn't roll! Modern coaching is impossible to do for a weekly golfer way to hard takes your whole life to master it
…and the other 10% have stupidly ‘inside’ takeaways, a huge alteration in terms of the clubshaft/hands at transition and, unless they are very fortunate, an ‘out to in’ clubhead path through impact. Also, this approach DOES NOT WORK when shot shaping is required ie draws to fades etc,
This is so dumb…. Yes some loop the swing back inside and some loop it back over their back swing but they are both ON PLANE !!!! There is nothing radical about this. It’s about delivering our own way on plane.

I think what’s important to detail is, you can swing over the top hand path but still shallow the club and shaft to match the forearm easily

That's great to hear, my friend. A fade is more reliable I've found!
Switched to this hand path and I’m hitting it 2-3 clubs longer. The OTT hand path really simplifies the golf swing.

When using this technic should you aim a little to the right for stand square?
Do you guys play with a strong grip
I have a slightly strong grip. Certainly, not as weak as Ben Hogan.
Have to have your dominant hand on the bottom for this to work, granted that is most players but it will not work if your left hand dominant and play righthanded

Seen him play in Victoria once,Popeye is one of the most casual golfers you’ll ever come across, unpretentious and a gentleman.

I find it more difficult to see the OTT move from the pros on the driver swing than an a short iron swing.
That’s interesting. It’s all about finding leverage so it’s unique.
Watch Carl Petterson´s driver swing. In my opinion, in OTT swing the most important thing is to shallow the club.
I gotta feel the arms really moving from the top.. the whole body rotation thing doesn’t work for me.
I think going OTT allows you to use your arms!
If you can drop the club inside, it works. However, it is very difficult to do consistently
“ if Ben Hogan saw this style (OTT) he’d puke” said one of the commentators. Of course what did he know. Ha ha Cheers.
That was Johnny Miller! Haha
Highly recommend you follow AMG, this is definitely what's not happening when captured in 3D.

Haha I made that top watson video you took a clip from 6 years ago. My Sony TV is still going strong :)
OMG!!! Are you serious!!!! Thank you, Gary. I’ve watched that video a hundred times!
@@MiracleSwingExperience some sound advice from Mr Watson, I had to share it.
Keep up the good work urself Christo.
@@garyinderry Thank you, kindly, my friend!
Yep it works! Inside and just hit it!

Shoulder is designed for underhand actually.
Next year you'll be promoting the one-plane swing.
And yes he started it out the the right. We have Trackman now buddy.
This is so dumb…. Yes some loop the swing back inside and some loop it back over their back swing but they are both ON PLANE !!!! There is nothing radical about this. It’s about delivering our own way on plane.
Hogan fought a hook his entire life. I'm confused here. Who's this guy? Lol
This so called OTT Swing is so well titled; becausevits author couldn't be more over the top!
Miracle Grip: Hold the clubhead and hit the ball with the grip. Why not, everything else is turned upside down, why not this?
Pure sales marketing crap. They charge $$$$$ and keep asking for more $ for additional “secrets” ….total scam
OTT is nonsense…it does not work for 90% of players.
