      Fastbuds definitely has it down for sure been doing their strains for about 4 years now just the 1 thing I've learned with them is there original strains can be a challenge and not all the og strains will turn out the same mite have 2 monsters and 2 small plants then a real dud sometimes with a 5 pack of originals. But besides that have had a ton of success with fastbuds

      Hey, I have already completed two runs in a row with fast buds seeds, and I am now four weeks into my third. I am so curious as to your comment about minimizing the LST work. My first two runs I did a lot of leaf tucking in the beginning, then, later pruning the large shade leaves the second week of flower, and quite a bit of LST work and no topping and they came out great. This run I was thinking of minimizing some of the LST work to see if I could have the plant put more of its energy to go towards larger buds Vs more branches.

      I have FastBuds Pineapple Express auto seeds and I'm gonna run them alongside some 2$ Pineapple Express autos. I can't wait to do the run, honestly would do more brands too but I really hate spending a lot on seeds. I got 100 autoflower seeds from BulkGenetics for like 177$, and honestly the Cheese was my third plant in my first grow and yielded over an ounce in a 2 gallon pot while under a 100w light split with 4 other plants. Actually smelled like Cheese too, was FUNKY. Like it didn't smell good some days, way too cheesy and not citrusy enough. I really didn't think anything would come of the plant but honestly I think modern autos are just awesome.
      Tiger Autoflower is the kitties titties, my first 2 plants were from them, cause they have 25+25 for 55$. But they give so many freebies I ended up with like 80+ seeds.
      Highly recommend giving Tiger a try, they don't have the largest selection but it's pretty damn good nevertheless. Also their photos suck, the plants will look better in your tent ;)

    You said Autoflowers are easy. They are not easy, they are fast. That makes them seem easy.
    Autos can be harder because they leave you no time to correct any mistakes or problems.
    If you are right on with everything, then they are easy.
    I grow both autos and photos. Autos in the Spring. I start them indoors around April, take them outside around May, burning bud by 4th of July.
    Where I live May and June are just fantastic for growing outside. No mold, mildew, bugs or anything. Hot sun, cool nights, they just love it. Spring is made for Autos.
    I grow photos the rest of the year.

    Love the info y'all share! The only point I disagree with is being chained to the seed company. I have a lot of success with making seeds with the strains I like so I have literally hundreds of seeds from a single plant so I no longer need to buy from the seed company. I love that I can drop a few plants and in 90ish days I have all the smoke I need for a long long time. They also use way less nutes and way less light intensity to there's $$ saved on that end as well.

    I tried autos a few years back. I got some feminized auto seeds supposedly White Widow. Almost every plant that I grew to harvest was unique. They all expressed slightly different genetics. I guess I should mention this was the only time time I tried to grow cannabis. None were kick ass potent like you can buy at the pharmacy, but all were decent. There was one plant though that really hit my sweet spot. It eased my pain, and really calmed my anxiety like none of the others. It did not really get me "high" so to speak. I don't like getting stoned that much, I just want to ease my athritic back pain and calm my anxiety so I can sleep at night.

    Adam, that is NOT what ruderalis is. It was a really small plant that was from areas that had lite for 20 hours a day for part of the year and dark that long the other half. So Natura they became adapted to where they lived over 1000s of years. Then people started breeding with them. And.they rest of.what u said is correct

    • @Double0joe
      @Double0joe 8 месяцев назад

      That’s actually not true ether @jayschaufele7685, ruderalis once actually studied was identified as a subspecies of cannabis. with more in common to a weed due to its ability to grow in not idea conditions and in rubble, it flowers not dependent on light schedule but age, normally between 30 to 40 days. The leaves of ruderalis grow with 3 main fingers and 2 little fingers which look slightly different then the normal 7 to 11 cannabis fingered leaves. But ruderalis since its discovery has always been a plant that flowers and produces thc and other cannabinoids it is a cannabis subspecies plant. same as sativa and indica is different, their is also ruderalis. it was only by crossing ruderalis with sativas and indicas that allowed the autoflower to enhance the production of thc and yield which otherwise would be extremely low. But ruderalis was always a cannabis species. So Adam was and is correct.

      And the answer is no autos are sub par I don’t care what company makes em. Yeah some taste alright but the other 4 I. The pack taste like ass but look better. Just grow photos veg for 3 weeks at 18/6 and flip to 11/13 and in same time u will have real cannabis that can be cloned and saved for future use and breeding. Where autos flowers seed makers are the modern day crack dealers. U need them seeds. Even the fast flowering varieties that are like 15% ruderalis still have a funky look and taste to me. Yeah u can clone them and reveg em. Those have there place in outdoor grows but autos imo are only worthy of washing into bubble and pressing rosin

    I grow an auto in veg to harvest between flowering periods. Autos don't like being hit to hard with light. I decided to take an auto clone. Clones don't grow tap roots. Heard autos trigger if they get root bound or the tap root hits something. I also grow an ultimate purple auto/fast photo outdoors. Decided to grow one out indoors to find out if it is an auto. Think I got lucky and its a girl. I like autos because I can pollinate them before going outdoors in June. So get a few seeds of each plant. I grow cheap autos from happy bird seeds. Only 2$ a seed. I do have Colloidal silver to make females pollinate for seeds. One of the reasons we like the ultimate purple is it shows it's sex early like an auto.

  • @JakeCannabisco
    @JakeCannabisco 9 месяцев назад +9

    You can reverse a auto to avoid having to keep buying beans.. so it's not like a photoperiod regenerative cycle. Colloidal Silver, get some and treat a few lower branches. Your plant should make feminized auto seeds with this method.. granted the pheno may differ a tad from the initial strain.. also it's not 100% feminized because of hermie traits.
    I totally love photoperiod strains way more, autos are convenient..but you just can't dial them in like you mentioned. Plus photos are easy to clone, abuse, regen and mother. Way more stable and usually have better thc & secondary metabolite levels plus yields.
    I am working with plant hormones and brassinosteroids trying to find auto strains that theoretically keep blooming indefinitely as long as they are fed.. so kind of like a perennial auto 😅 like a everlasting strawberry plant, it sets its own veg cycle then switches to bloom and as long as you feed them they literally will produce fruit for years.. I think it I can make that type of strain stable and potent then it could change growing indefinitely.. well for alot of folks. cytokinin levels definitely show promise altering the structure and pruning/regrowth structure.. think like when you harvest and leave a bit at bottom and sit back under veg to reveg ... feed massive cytokinin & brass and BOOM every time. So you harvest your buds and instead of having to regen you just keep feeding it clean organics 😅 and watch the buds grow month after month harvest after harvest... granted you may need to up pot size transplant or trim roots etc 🤔 I wonder..

I'd recommend Wedding cheesecake for the fiddlers....they can be topped LST'd and stems snapped over with no problems. I get between 5.5 and 6.5 from each one in 16l fabric posts/coco using advanced nutrients. Forbidden runts grew to about 6 - 7oz per plant. And the Gorilla cookies and strawberry Gorilla are both 28 THC. from fast buds.

    I think it's all about the space, a photo period can be vegged and trained to fill the space eithout worrying about outgrowing the tent. I'd do autos outside though, the fall can be wet and cold here so you want to finish early Sept.

    I did autos for 2 grows. I dont recommend as photos are bigger and easy to get double yield. Veg a little longer and flip lights 12 and 12. Keep the tent closed in a dark room and you wont get a light leak. Put one of your old ass blankets on the light facing side to help more. If you have a corner in a basement, put tent in the corner and wall it off with curtains or keep the lights off.

    didnt really know wht to expect and did not have anything to compare with =)
    looking back it actually did well thinkin that i didnt really know wht i was doin since it was my very first experience.
    it is more expensive tho.
    Considering the arguments in this vid, besides that: you also have a larger electricity bill pr plant,
    since you do not turn down to a 12/12 light period doin flowering.

    I'm new to autos, just did a run with one M.A.C.#1 auto by Dutch Passion . I learned the hard way about not being able to correct anything before it's metabolism shut down. So theoretically, if I had a male clone of a auto and used the pollen to pollinate a female auto would it react differently than a photo period even if I pollinated it within the correct time frame?

    I had spent 3 years growing autoflowers. When I first started growing again, I did a lot of research and thought autoflowers sounded like a good plant for beginners, I was wrong. In my case I should have started with photos, homes in on my skills then tryed autos. Theirs no room for error and beginners will make errors, which is also necessary because that’s how I learned, by making mistakes. Anyway I’m a little on the fence, with it. I think the best way to grow autoflowers is hydroponically. With no root resistance the plant can actually get very big before entering flower. On occasion I would get real lucky with an auto yielding me 4 to 5 ounces but on average it was like between 1 to 3 ounces. The first time I attempted auto in a 5 gallon hydroponic bucket, I had a yield almost 9 ounces (purple kush auto). When I switched to photos my experience was just so much less stressful lol. I had so much more control and on average my yields and quality are just so much better. I felt like the return with the autos wasn’t worth the time and money I was investing. That has changed a bit now that I have gotten more experienced. I have had some amazing BANGER autos and all within 90 days. I’d say it comes down to preferences, experience, and what you’re looking to do. Inexperienced people looking for yield should probably start with photos.

    • @davidandrew6957
      @davidandrew6957 7 месяцев назад

      Have you ever had trouble with them maturing? I’ve had issues with trichs that never go milky. I think I may need to ease off the lights sooner and maybe lower the tent temperature? I agree with hydro being the best. The roots get gigantic. A sea of green in soil is fun too.

    • @Double0joe
      @Double0joe 6 месяцев назад

      @@davidandrew6957 matter of a fact I have and it’s only the autoflowers it will seem it doesn’t matter how long you wait a lot of trichomes just never get milky and stay clear I absolutely have had this frustrating issue only with autos… the most recent one was a purple hulk the whole plant was fading and dieing on schedule the trichomes just never got to that amber color i don’t know what it is…. The autos I had growing next to it in the same lighting and everything were fine. And I have heard only a couple people mention this before and a couple people say they never had this issue. So I honestly don’t know the cause of it. I have noticed it frequently with autos… I think it may have something to do with the autos just having lower THC averages in general but that’s my only best guess.

    I only grow autos and I explain why.. they are just stealthy,usually don't smell much and they are fast.. this makes it great for secret grows outdoor... A thing to mention is that autos can grow in bigger bucket and yes they get way bigger so don't listen to people saying that more then 11 liters is useless ...plus yes they auto flower but the quality of light, quantity of light and temperature matter.. and they can flower earlier or later because of these factors.

      I haven’t grown any Brothers Mendel gear. What makes you say best autos ever? I’m always looking for great genetics 👍🏼. But i also see value in both auto and photo. The 18-24 hr light is something for people to consider but even more is if you get a fire pheno you can’t keep it. That being said some of the work being done by the breeders is amazing and gets better every day. Have you tried Night Owl, Rocbudinc, Berserker,ronin garden, Mephisto, Speedruns seeds? There are some other savage beans out there man dont get to laser focused on one breeder. 🤘🏼 im looking to try a new photo breeder. Any suggestions?

      @@andydufrain4057 it’s only my opinion and I’d highly recommend trying brother mendel. I’m not getting narrow minded on auto breeders, I don’t grow them anymore. For the last two years I’ve been growing perpetually with photos. Autos don’t really fit into that. As far as a new breeder I’d recommend Green Wolf Genetics and Tarantula Genetics. I’ve grown a lot of Tarantulas stuff and have never been let down.
