The idea of some highly esteemed director like George Miller or an actor like Norman Reedus coming over to kojima's house and seeing the official Snowbikemike movie on his shelf is so funny to me.
When I saw this post originally on Instagram I legitimately screamed because I couldn’t believe it. Can’t even imagine what it must be like to meet Kojima-San, he is part of my holy trinity of creators and would melt being in his presence. You guys do such incredible things and have so much reach. AHHH💙
This reminded me of my own “Kojima Experience” I had in 2010 at a signing event in NY during Peace Walker’s launch, which was a whole story kinda similar to this. Me and my brother came to NY for the first time for this chance, Kojima’s appearance for signing was limited to 2 hours so for us coming from Florida and spending a lot of money, we didn’t want to take any chances and decided to go to the Uniqlo clothing store a whole day in advance to wait in line, thinking this was gonna be like Hall H or something. There was no line and the Uniqlo employees thought this was pretty weird of course but were also very cool and accommodated us with seats inside and starting the line 24 hours ahead of the signing, we wouldn’t need to wait outside till the store closed. A few hours later the mofo himself walks in, just casually checking the store out and scoping it in preparation. We could not believe our eyes, but took turns approaching him to not lose our spots, some cool locals had already come by to check for a line but with it just being us two, they weren’t around when this happened so me and my brother just shook hands and bowed as he recognized our Metal Gear shirts with smiles, he wasn’t with anyone while he was shopping but a few moments later he came to where we were waiting with his translator/producer at the time Ken who was just as cool/chill as they describe Aki here. We had a great conversation and took pictures, later he tweeted a picture saying something like “With fans from Florida” since he was really taken by our passion showing up so early. The first locals came back later and were bummed out about missing this, overtime more and more showed up and by the time the store closed there was a big line of us waiting outside, which Kojima must’ve gotten word of cause the mofo showed up AGAIN to take pictures with all the fans waiting outside overnight, Kojima really is that guy and we got to talk to Ken some more. Right before the event started, Kojima gave us a bunch of amazing gifts, the green PSP Peace Walker bundle, the Sony Peace Walker Walkman MP3 player from in the game and other items, we could not believe it and didn’t have any of the items. But the real magic started when the signing started, cause the store starts playing Heaven’s Divide from the freakin ether outta nowhere as we never heard an intercom while we were there, the store suddenly felt like Metal Gear Disneyland as they led us inside and up a floor to where he was signing. The game had just released a few days prior so the emotional impact was in full effect. The whole experience was unforgettable and overshadowed Times Square and everything else we experienced while in NY, which was also amazing for two people who’ve never seen skyscrapers before.
Guys i am so proud of Kinda Funny team. You guys are growing and are so professionally equipped in this field. I wish you so much continued success from bottom of my heart!!!! Kojima meeting the team members is such a feel good moment and Japan looks cool !!!
I've been to many concerts and met quite a few artists/celebrities, I rarely get starstruck but I think if I was to ever meet Hideo Kojima I would be very nervous. The man is a genius and master craftsman as far as I'm concerned and he's responsible for hundreds of hours of joy for me. He's one of the standout reasons I now think of videogames as the best form of entertainment
Its so awesome they got to go there. It also makes me a little sad that a normal person like me will likely never get the chance to do something like that, meeting one of my personal heroes (Kojima), as well. But, it was awesome to hear.
Love that Bless and Roger got to do this i would love to do this with 343i or CD projekt red. Also i love Greg and Tim's expressions throughout this you can tell how proud they are.
This was awesome, so happy you guys had a great trip! And omg Mike is this the reason you were showing off all those old videos during one of your streams! So f***ing funny 😆
This is awesome that they got to do this, kudos to Blessing and Roger, they've gone from strength to strength in the last few years. And all of Kinda funny has now given me some more media to consume with their gift picks, which can only be a good thing
As an Audio-only listener this episode was not audio friendly! Had to jump on here because the gang was not great at describing some of the things. For example, at 14:55 Kevin talks about his choice, but never once names the book! I was so intrigued by his description I came on here to see what it was. Anyway - great ep! But please don't forget us Audio people!
Just wanna say that Mega Ran being on Games Daily and the Gamecast today with the talk of sending music on cassette made me buy Tractor Beam on cassette! Thanks for introducing me to him guys! And Tim was GROOVING earlier, my man! Greg may have an inner ear infection though he looked off balance, go see a doctor and take care of yourself we're worried about you.💚
This is so amazing on so many levels!! How exciting for you guys too, ahhhh so cute!!! Caroline Polachek is one of my all-time favourite artists -- Roger this move was considerate and brilliant, and I have been screaming throughout this whole video. Thank you for sharing her stuff and for connecting these dots
greg is going to go visit Kojima in ten years and on all of Kojimas screens in the building mikes snowbiking video is going to be on loop as inspiration
So crazy to see this turn into a Caroline Polachek fan cast outta nowhere but I’m here for it. Been listening to her since “Bruises” by Chairlift and “Big Bills” by Flosstrodamus and her.
Damn, sounds like you guys came over during the O-bon holiday. If you want some good connections in Japan on where to go and stuff, Im sure there are some of us(personally 9+ yrs) with the knowledge of getting around Tokyo and stuff. Probably a reddit somewhere
Did Kevin get a Japanese-reading person a book written in English… ? I’m just assuming since he always has a translator or subtitles but lmk if I’m missing smth
why do yall throttle your bandwidth? i love your shows i watch everyday but i shouldn't have to drop down to 720 just to watch you guys.just confused this is the only podcast/video i have to do it to.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon sold 400k in Japan out of the 1.8 million worldwide, that's a pretty sizeable chunk imo. But I understand the idea. I think the issue is that these games in general are just hella niche. There's not much merch period of it.

dude yes
Tim and Greg look so proud.
I loved the reactions of everyone and was smiling through all the video.
I hope the Snowbikemike movie inspires hideo to make a snow bike game lmao
"Everyone told me the yen was weak right now!" 😂
Rogers aura went up exponentially with these stories.. especially that album suggestion slam dunk. Unreal.

Looking forward to Kojima's "Watched SnowBikeMike Goes Big" tweet.
Oh God that would be something
KF crew killing it with the stories lately

Brilliant episode! Kudos to Roger for the Kojima connection. That was awesome to hear.

This video made me emotional. Seeing Blessing from his first day at KF to living this dream moment… man. 🥲
The album story is so cool.
I already knew that Blessing was a real one, but then he mentioned Lupe Fiosco's Good and Liquor and now he's locked in as the realest.

Kojima def loves those Acronym Prestos. He wears them a lot. He also wears the Acronym Blazer from time to time too.
Roger has to be known as "The Strand" cos he's out here bringing people together!
New found respect for Roger giving the Caroline Polachek album to Kojima.
1000%
Roger making the moves. That album was one of my favorites of 2023! Doing the lords work
Snowbikemike is a national treasure 😂
Damn I wish they did a Kinda Munchies from Japan trying out all the convenience store food.
This is so amazing on so many levels!! How exciting for you guys too, ahhhh so cute!!! SHOUTOUT Roger for showing Kojima Caroline Polachek. What a fucking album.
Edit: I'm not on social media. HOLY SHIT ROGER!!!!
Great job Blessing and Roger

Snowbike Mike would be a great MGS boss

I am freaking out seeing Kojima open the gift like I was a part of it lol
The acronym prestos kojima was wearing go hard
So crazy to me that Kinda Funny put Kojima onto Caroline Polachek, 3 of my worlds colliding LMAO
Our little KF crew growing up 😢
I hope Kojima has humor, because from your stories, KF are never returning at that place hahahahaha
Kojima cracks jokes like 24/7, he definitely trolled them with the typhoon thing.
As soon as Kev started speaking, I knew it would be Use of Weapons. Such an amazing book, that ending destroys you.
Poor Ran showed up on the wrong day
Great guest fellas, Mega Ran!
what a story! great stuff
If there was a Kevin Bacon-style game where you see how removed you are from the person, but for Kojima. Roger would win.
Damn, sounds like you guys came over during the O-bon holiday. If you want some good connections in Japan on where to go and stuff, Im sure there are some of us(personally 9+ yrs) with the knowledge of getting around Tokyo and stuff. Probably a reddit somewhere
Legendary episode
So proud and happy for y’all.
And shout out to Roger for the epilepsy warning I don’t have that but you just being aware of it is pretty cool.

I love this roster of hosts!!!
Did Kevin get a Japanese-reading person a book written in English… ? I’m just assuming since he always has a translator or subtitles but lmk if I’m missing smth
I LOVVVVEE GREG's pick! I've shown this movie to many friends and always love their reaction and my rewatch of the movie!
Hopefully it has Japanese subs for him.

Just came here to say Bless is looking 💪🏻 🥵
15:48 - Barrett seems like a cool dude, but what is with that picture?! Man, lighten up & smile a little sometimes 😊
LMAO!!! WHY IN THE HELL DOES RODGER REFER TO HIMSELF IN THRE THIRD PERSON SOOOO MANY TIMES DURING THIS!!!!!
bruh you just had breakfast why did you need a soda going into meeting Kojima lol
Who's Twitter account is that, that's not following Kojima 🤨
Does anyone else notice Roger says uh at the end of words sometimes... Like bookuh for example and many other words?
Yeah, and he's mentioned it elsewhere that it's his Guyanese accent coming through nbd
@@cshaun ah ok. I was just curious
Aki-ah-bah-rah*
why do yall throttle your bandwidth? i love your shows i watch everyday but i shouldn't have to drop down to 720 just to watch you guys.just confused this is the only podcast/video i have to do it to.
Still waiting for some female hosts. Is it so hard?
"Yakuza" is an American fetish.... It's not a game, toy, or fun thing in Japan. I'm sure you understand.

Did they really spend an hour blowing Kojima?
Love the Coherence shout-out Greg!
Been looking for the title of the movie. Thanks!
