I am so glad I bought a 77 el camino for my first car. I’m watching all these videos for ideas on how to restore it and I can’t help but fall in love with it just a bit more.

That silver fox really ruined it for me I dont understand why people do that to a car they're open to get rid of it really diminishes the value in my eyes
@@darinp5612 I guess..... i like the colors on the car they just had to put silver fox on the back of it. If you want to name your car that is your choice (not really my style) but don't paint it on the car smh make it a decal or something

That's a power steering pump or trans pump not a gear drive. Blue smoke, it's nice but flat wore out.

Sounds like it has the Gear drive set up in it just like my 77 had.
Front looks just like the 77 Malibu Classic I had w swivel bucket seats and landau top except for the back portion of course. It had the 305 not 350.

IF THE BRAKE PADS CRACK THEY WILL GRAB HARDER , COULD NEED NEW PADS ON FRONT OR REAR SHOES NEED ADJUSTED

Sons of God she’s smoking pretty hard out that left bank and you’d be able to get by for awhile like that but in order to have a good engine, she’s gonna need to come out and break her apart!

Normally in my opinion I hate El Camino's they just look super ugly but the Silver Fox is a good El Camino it doesn't look ugly I like the paint job I like the black stripe it looks good and I like the name to Silver Fox and you said you hit 160 subscribers that's cool man good job Nick you do great work and a lot of people realize and recognize that I sure do good job buddy

$5,500 would be more reasonable. If everything on the car was working as it should 10,900 would be okay but this car needs a ton of TLC

For those that want to learn more...can you explain what a gear drive is? And why does it whine like that?
They are stronger , more accurate and durable than a chain or belt set up. They will last much longer under pressure. Draw back is they are loud and some people think it sounds like a super charger under the hood.

I own a 76’ and I agree. Ugly years but you can do a bumper swap and some custom fabrication, and the ugly goes completely away. It’s because the bumpers are just way too big
