***** I'm more of a thrash guy so I disagree. The only real innovator I saw come out of the 80s Glam scene was Van Halen because of his hammer ons, without him solos would be more lifeless.
for a California 1980's cover act with an amazing David Lee Roth impersonator...they have done phenomenally well! They crack me up AND can freaking really perform live. Better than basically everything on radio right now...
They get away with all sorts of shit most people couldn't, especially nowadays, for two key reasons: 1) it's clear it's all in a character that is an accurate (if exaggerated) portrayal of attitudes from another era, and not things they're actually saying cause they mean them, and 2) cause they're a relatively small, niche act that people seek out cause they know what they're getting. It's not like somebody's 90 y/o conservative Grandma is turning on the radio and hearing SP.
Saw these guys live in Camden Town at the Electric Ballroom and they were just genius - there is nothing like them and hopefully no one else will try because they are unsurpassable!!!
Saw them live the frist time this week @ Sauna Open Air, Tampere, Finland and DAMN they rocked and I had soooo much fun while they were on stage. Hope they will be back in Finland soon
These guys are surprisingly good live. Especially the singer. Most guys who sing like that on records tend not to be able to hit those same notes live.
Almost every Steel Panther song (if not all) is like that. Listened to it first because it was funny, but stayed for actual good songs and instrumentals. There comes a time that I want to listen to their songs but I have to keep it on the down low. I've got a lot of explaining to do if someone hears this out of context.
They are one of the best musicians out there, forget about the metal scene only. Michael sounds like a trained professional vocalist, I can tell that because I am a semi-pro vocalist who's been being trained by a vocal coach for 3 years, Satchel has officially been known to finish the Guitar Institute of Technology. I am pretty sure that the bassist and the drummer are also trained at least in some way. I stand by the words of another guy who wrote in the Open Flair Live of this song comment section 'These guys are fucking amazing musicians, vulgar lyrics, clothes, and humour is an added extra'
You guys totally nailed all the things that made me happy in the 80's. The look, the moves, the attitude, the stage presence, the musical ability, and the ability to create bridges and alternate song structures. This might be a funny song...but truly the musicianship and performance kicks ass. Thanks for making my day. I'll fly anywhere in the country to check you guys out. I'll have to check a tour schedule. Thanks for the entertainment and making my day.
My guitar teacher has been teaching me how to tap. So I decided to learn the solo to this. Yesterday he asked what I was working on at home. So I told him. My teacher: You are not gonna play that at next month's recital.
Haha! Only Steel Panther! They have like THE most vulgar,obscene,feminist-raging lyrics, yet their music is probably some of the greatest I've ever heard. I don't know whether I want to throw up cuz of the lyrics or the badassery emitted from their music. Keep at it guys!
I saw these at Download yesterday, I'd listened to them a bit before, but they were just amazing, definitely want to go and see them in their own tour this Autumn/Winter
three most awkward songs to play in asia: 1: Born in the USA, Bruce springsteen 2: yellow fever, Bloodhound gang 3: Asian hooker, steel panther. and NOW you know.
I saw Satchel play the solo, checking out the positions so I can learn it myself. A full half gallon bottle of lemonade later, I figured I should've stopped drinking 10 seconds ago. I feel sick, but good at the same time.
BEST PLACE TO PLAY ASIAN HOOKER
Armando Barreda Thailand and Philippines got the most hookers! Also the cheapest.
They probably only play this song when they perform in Japan because of the title lol.
Yah~the medical bill will make up for the that lol
...but i dont speak Japanese ... lol
lmao Thailand when you have the dough
Japan when you got them brains lol
"Good evening Tokyo, this song is called Asian Hooker"...
There's lots of hookers in Japan tho.
So funny love this song. Do you think there were any Asian hookers in the audience? 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Lol
How can they do this song in Japan with straight faces?
I cracked up the entire song!
Me too lmao
Smh 😂😂😂😂😂
Remember when Slayer played Angel of Death in Germany. THAT was awkward.
He can’t help but smile around 1:39
Hahaha I know
the solo and basswork is actually incredible
Only Steel Panther would utter "GOOD EVENING TOKYO" and "THIS SONG IS CALLED ASIAN HOOKER" in the same breath.
David Clark Red Light District in Tokyo exists...
not really when you get nuked twice you aint going to say shit against citizens of the empire.
it's called full spectrum domination.
These guys would sing a song called 'Shooting JFK' at a cermemony honoring his death.
these guys crack me the fuck up. it takes some balls to perform a song like this in japan
not only they performed it, but they actually opened their set with it =))
It takes some balls to be in Steel Panther
***** I dunno if d Japanese understand d song. Since Japan is d 2nd leading porn industry in d world. lol \m/
aryo borzin Taheri the actually opened with eyes of a panther
+CHRIS B. Balls of Steel, of a Panther made of Steel
The audio and video looks like it was shot in 1986.
Welcome to Japan ! xD
I think they did that on purpose
+SuperVideoman12 welcome to steel panther
+ThyerHazard Nope, was shot in 2009. The band was created in 2000.
thats why this band is awesome. love the 80 s sound/view
When you screamed "THIS IS GREAT" out of joy I felt that deeply, this is monumental 😂
This what 80's bands would have been if they were honest
and actually had people who can play instruments!
+TheZooropaBaby what do you mean? most of the 80s bands where great musicians.
+Joel Trochez Van Halen was a great guitarist, that's about it
+Opticillusion160 80s had, Van halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, Jason Becker, Rik Emmet, John Norum, Steve Vai, Mark Knopfler and lot more
***** I'm more of a thrash guy so I disagree. The only real innovator I saw come out of the 80s Glam scene was Van Halen because of his hammer ons, without him solos would be more lifeless.
Lexi's bass is so loud! lol I love it!
Saw these guys opening for Priest last night... I was not expecting this...
mercuropheliac The guitar player Satchel(Russel Parrish) used to be in Rob Halfords band Fight in the early 90’s.
is it just me or this like an amazing song, riffs, the lyrics are hilarous, the drums and bass are on point
for a California 1980's cover act with an amazing David Lee Roth impersonator...they have done phenomenally well! They crack me up AND can freaking really perform live. Better than basically everything on radio right now...
Only Steel Panther could pull this off in Tokyo. LMFAO

this neoclassical solo is awesome!
That opening riff is brutal
"Smells like sushi!" hahahahah what.....
It's watching a real life episode of South Park.
I love it!
true
They sound incredible live!
Love how high Lexi’s bass is in the mix
Just watched this for the first time-rhyming "South Korea" and " gonorrhea" - now that's a first!
Ok but can we talk about the song itself? It's really well written, and Satchel's going full Yngwie on that solo
Almost every Steel Panther song (if not all) is like that. Listened to it first because it was funny, but stayed for actual good songs and instrumentals.

Amazing how accurate this song really is
Especially the South Korea part....
Great sound, guys!! Lexi's bass sounds nice - deep and powerful. Drums and everything sounds and looks great!!
The riff, the verses, the chorus... Hooker paradise dude!!!
Hahaha I was at this gig. Crowd were loving it too.
Love the solo satchel is an amazing guitarist
..OK, "Asian Hooker" being played in Tokyo...the beauty of that is perfect!!
You guys totally nailed all the things that made me happy in the 80's. I love how Lexxi pretends to be totally stupid, but then he is a REALLY good bass player! These guys rock!
Just saw these guys live in Cincinnati a couple days ago. I gotta say, one of the best live shows I've ever seen!!!! KEEP ROCKING STEEL PANTHER!
My guitar teacher has been teaching me how to tap. So I decided to learn the solo to this. Yesterday he asked what I was working on at home. So I told him.
My teacher: You are not gonna play that at next month's recital.

steel panther a combination of amazing guitar, amazing hair and unbeliveble affensive lyrics. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha! Only Steel Panther! They have like THE most vulgar,obscene,feminist-raging lyrics, yet their music is probably some of the greatest I've ever heard. I don't know whether I want to throw up cuz of the lyrics or the badassery emitted from their music. Keep at it guys!
"feminist-raging" would mean they're feminists. "enraging" is the word you're looking for lmfao
What a Grest performance!
I saw these at Download yesterday, I'd listened to them a bit before, but they were just amazing, definitely want to go and see them in their own tour this Autumn/Winter
Pretty ballsy to perform this in Tokyo.
I would figure that would be the ideal place to find one.
That bass sound is KILLER!
interlude from yngwie's I'll see the light tonight :) amazing how this band takes so many great songs and parts and make them so funny and cool
Yeah, right? Same goes for Nanowar. If you're not familiar with them, go check them out.
Yeah, I heard fragments of "Final Countdown" too... Looks like a puzzle, all those fragments. IMO, they are great musicians and entertainers.
I love this song ! 😅
Getting punched in the nuts by a guy who knows Tai Chi sounds pretty bad, I must admit.
That's friggin' awesome...Look at where they're performing....Balls of steel .....
They're a mix of Scatterbrain and early Van Halen with the looks of Poison.
God Bless the USA!
And leads are a mix of Yngwie Malmsteen, Eddie Van Halen and Crazy vibrato
Mix of Yngwie, Van Halen and George Fuckin Lynch
I love Steel Panther!!!
And Steel Panther loves you!
I love how the Asian dating service ad is in the corner for me
seen steel panther last night in Melbourne, they put on an awesome show.
This may be their finest moment
They sound so good
These guys make me laugh everytime .... and they play better than 99% of the serious bands
I don't know if it's fate or destiny, but I was living in Tokyo when I heard this song for the first time. Most amazing song EVER!!
Japan must have a great sense of humour 😂
Or they just don’t understand them.

@slayer9023 DUDE! The world isn't ready for that kind of EPICNESS!
stixx does more on the drums than lars Ulrich
Away more. Especially considering Lars after the 00's
Lars sucks.....
Stixx is God!

Remco K It was a reply to Adrian's comment
