    1:53 looked like it was both of their fault. Brother was making a left turn on a right-only turn, and person that hit him was driving through what is considered a divider.

    • @Paul-cx4gm
      @Paul-cx4gm 2 года назад +42

      Yup. They both share in the blame on that.

    • @sixstanger00
      @sixstanger00 2 года назад +51

      Overall, yes. But a case examination would look at it through the lens of traffic laws, as the events unfolded.
      The brother was the first law breaker, as he was attempting to make a left turn at a right-turn-only intersection; the car that is speeding down the divider, while also in violation of traffic laws, is immaterial in this case. If the brother had obeyed traffic laws, the accident wouldn't have happened, because he wouldn't have crossed over into the divider. (Which is actually the very reason these intersections only allow right turns; left turns require crossing multiple lanes of oncoming traffic, and you've also got to deal with multiple lanes of traffic on the other side).
      As far as "who is at fault in this accident?," it's 100% the brother's fault --- he was trying to make an illegal left turn.
      The SUV barreling down the divider is a separate case altogether.

      The way the suv jerked, I suspect there was a tie rod or ball joint failure. Of course a medical episode could result in a sudden jerk of the steering wheel. That guardrail was no match for two cars and a big truck. The suv was literally thrown over the guardrail and went for quite a tumble. The car unfortunately was a sandwich and the truck was just a lot of weight to stop.

      So many accidents could be avoided if more people did that. Instead of trying to take some crazy left turn just go with the traffic and turn around. Same for the people that miss their exit and then decide to swerve across the highway onto the exit ramp. Just take the L, go to the next exit and turn around. Or use GPS to find a different route. The roads are usually connected. Its just baffling sometimes.

That thing buckled like a soda can, you could barely tell it used to be a car. He completely split the skin on his chin, shattered part of his knee and fractured his foot in 4 places. But he said the worst part was when the ER nurses cut his jacket off. He got it when he was 19 in the airforce and it still fit him at 48 years old. It didn't "brake-check" him. Its brake lights were on as it _started_ to change lanes (because the driver mismanaged the move and got too close to the car in front). Its brake lights _go out_ when it fully enters the left lane. If it were brake-checking that is when the lights would come _on_ . Instead they go off because it is clear of the car it passing and about to speed away. They come on again after the incident happens behind.
      And what "cop" do you mean? There's no person or vehicle on either side of the road. And the vehicle entering the road from the shoulder is not a police vehicle. It's scary the way the cammer at 6:25 was willing to endanger everyone on the road including themselves over damage that was less severe than the damage I've gotten from a too-narrow parking garage door. Ridiculous.

    3:25 I hope everyone turned out okay, especially the white car, in the clip it almost looks like the truck drove over the white car

      the person in the white car is most definitely dead if not severely injured with lifelong trauma. the semi crushed it against the guardrail. as for the red car, i didn't really see where it went, but those people might be okay

    1:41 - Your brother is at fault. He turned left, into traffic, without making sure all lanes were clear. #TheEnd

    • @Snakehad95
      @Snakehad95 2 года назад +1

      Yes and No. Morally, both are at fault... because if you change the point of view: For both partys, the other party suddenly appeared, where nothing should appear, if everyone followed the rules of traffic. The other party was not driving in his lane, nor where he was allowed to.
      But since the camera was moving out from a yard, into a different street, he has always more fault than the other party. If you turn into a different street, the traffic can drive totally reckless on the wrong side of the road - if an accident happens, you are responsible at first and at most.

      But technically, I would go to court with this. Camera vehicle was driving slowly and carefully, while the other one was speeding like shit. A clever and correct judge should acknowledge this and make the other party more at fault.

      @@Snakehad95 - I recall seeing this same video on another channel, and in that the on-screen commentary (the non-driving brother) stated that the driver (other brother) was turning left out of the exit, which was marked no left turn. So, that puts a whole new spin on it.

      No left turn ...the other driver could have been in a medical emergency etc! Another thing ,if your gonna break the rules of the road,you better make damn sure you don't need up. Double check triple check or you get checked.

    6:10 But could she see it with the sun directly in front of her? And the cammer couldn't see that she wasn't stopping? In a situation like that with traffic lights out and intersection uncontrolled, it's especially important to keep an eye on what everyone lese is doing.
