Your reactions r epic. Lol. Just like I was when i first saw the trailer. Reminds me of how I felt when I was younger and played MK1 in the arcade. My friend was SUB ZERO and he ripped my head off lol. I was like wham, blam, wtf just happened?! Lol
The first one was a big deal and was a good movie during it's time. The 2nd movie and MK Conquest were garbage. Scorpion's Revenge was pretty good. MK Legacy was a try hard attempt to get people interested in the franchise. We're all expecting great things from this movie and I can't wait to watch it.
Each one of the cast members grew up playing it too so expect it to b badass. The Cole character is a random variable in the story and he is there bec if Liu Kang was the main protagonist we already know he would win lol. At least with Cole he gets the character arc and if u pay close attention to the trailer u will see so many hints as to who Cole is. I heard Sektor was going to b in it but thankfully they chose to wait lol.
Bi han/sub zero was wrongly accused then got killed by hanzo/scorpion. Sub zero came back as noob saibot, in which he was evil. So maybe they just make sub zero evil from the start and skip the whole turning into Noob part. Also its been stated by one of my sources that Cole is related to scorpion. He's in the background helping scorpion fight sub zero, he looks in the mirror to only see scorpion looking back at him, scorpion looks at Cole at the end of the sub zero fight when he's surrounded in hell fire and Cole also wears yellow. Id rather have a fresh origin story about scorpion and his relative than the same old story line we get over and over again, no offense to Cage. They said if this movie does well, they'll make it a trilogy, so you'll probably get Cage in one of those.

The Director mentioned during an interview that it will b a MK UNIVERSE if it is successful and that means... Wait for it....

In the lockers behind Cole in the gym there are Jhonny Cage posters, so he is part of this movie's universe for sure
I'm 100% sure that if this movie is successful, you will see Cole as a character in the next MK game ^^
