That dude was actually stupid. He forgot the hand brake on BOTH CARS.
yeah, he forgot a few very basic steps, or that he was too good to need them.
He was chasing the car, his winch and tailgate. Then he was chasing his truck and trailer.
I was impressed. First that he was dumb enough to not secure either vehicle, but second because he was like Speedy Gonzales chasing them both down. If you're going to be dumb, you better be tough.

First he mounted his winch to the bed not the bumper, the bed was thin rusted out sheet metal, he didn't pull the car far enough on to the trailer to make the center of gravity go forward, he didn't raise the ramp after putting the car on the trailer, and he wasn't wearing a seat belt!
TL:DR This guy got what he deserved!!!

Dude I kept watching it and I just can't put together how tf he got himself into that mess. Somebody's getting piss tested for that one.
Moffets don't have counterweights, so they're lightweight compared to their lifting-weight. Also, their forks can move forward/back quite a ways (~3-4 ft? never actually measured it). He forked into whatever, which acts a new counterweight. Then he literally lifted himself up there, and then pulled himself on to that truck bed. Don't ask me the 'why' though, I can't fathom the 'why'.

Setting the parking brake would help, too.
But they were on a hill. Surely they don't need blocks in that situation. Or to put the car in park.
