When he died, his close friends all said they were not surprised.
One of them made a comment, "On the outside he had everything. Money, fame, success. But on the inside he had been running on empty for years."
In the film, "Animal House" the director limited Belushi's time in the film, because he didn't want it to be "The John Belushi film."

The irony being that Belushi still became the main draw for the film's audience. Thanks for watching and continuing the conversation. Stay tuned for part 2!

Fans hate to see the truth that exposed their heroes flaws

The way his life ended did not surprise any of his close friends. One said, "He had everything on the outside, but on the inside he had been running on empty for years."

It was inevitable, some individuals have a self-destuctive impulsive. IMO it's a chemical thing. If I hadn't gone on Celexa 20 years ago I'd probably gone down the same path ://

He chased the laughter and love he so easily created. So many people are the life of the party but they suffer sadness within. John just wanted to be as happy as he made people and he couldn’t find that balance

I’ve read the wired book. I don’t think it’s as bad as his friends made out. I’m a huge Belushi fan, so I went into it expecting a character assassination, and yes there’s a lot of dark things about it. And it made me like him a lot less. But it showed a lot of great things about him, his talent, his relationship with his parents and brother. The movie on the other hand is insane and I get why his friends and family would hate that

Back to lums dinner. John would hang there to buy pot he could not afford coke then at $100.00 a gram when 1/4 oz a nickel bag was $5.00 .At night he would go back to weaton on the train to cow and cornshocks at a apartment over a store with his father living there dragging little Jimmy with him.

I didn't realize John had alot of flop movies. His career would have been back with Ghostbusters. Shame.

John Belushi Died On March 5, 1982. How Could He Still Be Alive In December 1984?

Thanks for the watch and engagement. Yes. Unfortunately I misspoke while recording the audio. See my pinned comment. It’s easy to miss a quick mistake being a one man band regardless of the passion for the subject. Of which I have much.

That is incredible! John was an average guy that hid his insecurities and stress behind humor. You got a rare glimpse of the man and not the celebrity.

Unfortunately, John was a complete junkie by the end of his life….and as a kid, he was my favorite actor and comedian….I still remember where I was standing in my neighborhood when I found out he had died…I was so shocked
