- The New York Hardcore Chronicles 10 Questions w/ John Watson (NYHC Legend / Agnostic Front original singer) While shooting footage for The New York Hardcore Chronicles Film 1.5 we managed to fit in 10 questions with the NYHC legend.
What a beautifully humble and nice guy. Zero ego and no tough guy bullshit.
old school, mate - OLD SCHOOL. I call it aural charisma - same thing he's saying about Bad Brains - high energy persons
They gotta start rephrasing question to "Favorite drummers...besides Mackie".
Sound check at CBGB with Mackie was better then most of the bands playing.
Best slamdancer... Besides John Watson
if everyone is sayin mackie its obvious hes the man
bein a drummer myself i agree 110%
Probably the best interview from this whole thing... Absolute legend!!! Thanks Drew for sharing this with us!
Glad you enjoyed it. I finally caught up with him!
"Because its positive"....
Whats also positive is how utterly humble this man is. I dont know him, nor have i met him but i can tell its a genuine trait. I love this interview because he made it about everyone else and thats class.
Beyond great! What a character!
Real hardcore legend! Beautiful human being ✌✌✌ Cheers from Poland!!!
an interview with doug holland would be great. involved in so much history.....
Who's your favorite dancer in the pit: John Watson (said everyone forever).
The OG. Much love to this guy

seems very humble great interview drew
Always loved John!!! xoxoxoxoxo
A friend bought me a ticket to go to the warped tour which at the time I had sworn to never go back to as it was being over run by emo screamo shit, I looked at the line up and saw angry samoans and I said fuck it I'll go. Found out right before heading out the door that they weren't playing the orlando date so without shit to do I put on my inside my brain shirt in protest and went to honestly talk to some chicks. Literally every band sucked and I was bummed, I sat on the curb and was smoking a cigarette and this tall ass dude with a scally cap came up to me and said with the thickest new york accent "ey- angry samoans, now that's some old school thrash right there!" And I was like "yeah bummed they're not playing" we shot the shit and for a bit, he (casually) mentioned he used to sing for AF back in the day. I like united blood era but kinda hate that sing songy shit they morphed into so I never dug deep enough into them to be familiar with this dude. I asked him what the fuck he was doing here he said his kid wanted to see sum41 then his kid walked up and he said some Krishna shit I was like what's your name dude and he said "John Watson" and smiled real big, we shook hands and just in case he wasn't fuckin around I was like "can I snap a photo of you to show my friends" he said "'course" then crossed his arms, said something Krishna and I look him up and dude wasn't lying! Crazy world, just had to share that. Super fucking nice guy, wish I was more aware of how legendary the guy was at the time. I keep hearing his name on podcasts and shit.
that A7 clip...that is STYLE! Is there more of that footage?
Most sympathetic guy in the whole series.
At 1:55 guy walks past with a WarZone, Murphys Law and Judge T-shirts! Was that a coincidence or by design?
The interview was done on one of the days of the BnB Bowl and I am sure nearby the venue, so that is continuously people walking to the gig :)
There was a show that day
And people say my accent is thick
Great interview!!!
THANK YOU ON THOSE DRUMMERS .....FINALLY
freaking legend
Where can i. Find videos of him in the pit?
Eric Casanova, wow. There's a blast from the past. Original singer for the Cro Mags. I heard he's doing better these days after living under the Manhattan Bridge for a little while.
Glad these interviews are back, they're fucking dope.
Hey cool interview! Nice meeting you that time at your sisters place in Ct, long may you rock!
was there any demos or any recordings of John Watson when he played with Agnostic Front, If so that would be cool. I just love hearing rare hard to find music.
I believe theres a demo CD release somewhere with him on a few tracks.

@@PerryLevy free horrible food, I tried that food and is disgusting.
It's a vibe 😄
@@PerryLevy all that because of John Joseph mofo started that hare Krishna shit, then Ray capo.
All you boys think your slammin with your karate, take note.
I know. I hate that shit. Crowdcrushing (is that what it's called?) too. Fucking pseudo-toughguy nonsense.

Too bad there's no real slam pits anymore. Now it's just that hardcore dancing bullshit or nerds in "push pits".
