Fascinating ! Well done ! It looks like this is also meant for two channel listening ? Would a 2 channel stereo receiver's PRE-OUT ( don't have sub out) be the best way to connect to this sub since there is no speaker level ?

Yep. Stereo pre out to the low level stereo RCA inputs on the sub.
