Nice concise video. Just got gifted this mower, not the exact same obviously, self-propell functions great. Blades don't spin. No red light, no lights at all near the battery compartment. Nothing in the "troubleshooting" section of the manual. No receipt since it was a gift to me.
Check the battery level via the buttons on the batteries, should see 4 green lights on both. Might need to start over concrete, long grass can prevent it from spinning up. The self propelled paddle should work even if not running, as another way to test the batteries are both in place.
@@trizedlyza batteries are fine, fully charged, all lights are set to go. Pull the paddle back and away we go. Attempt to engage the blades and nothing, zero, zip, nada. Called and emailed Lowe's and get no assistance or reply. Could it be a fuse?
@@PaulFE7 Not sure how the control board works on these things. I know there's a clicky switch when the handle telescopes and it won't power up if the handle is not extended. I tried mine tipped completely to either side and it spun the blades so there's no extra mercury-like safety on it. The box says 5yr/3yr warranty, since it's a Lowe's brand you'd think they'd help. Makes me wonder if the local lawn mower repair shops can fix these things.
Make sure the handle is pulled all the way up, and locked in..the one I have was doing the same thing. It has a sensor in the handle that won't allow it start unless the handle is fully locked in.
It’s similar to what Makita does using 2 18 V batteries so you can use the batteries in all of the rest of the tools. I highly recommend all the power tools and hand tools from kobalt as well. I Use them daily as a contractor and they take serious abuse. You cannot beat them for the price. I use the cobalt trimmer and blower to do a few lawns and they are fantastic. Considering getting this lawnmower next, especially at the sale price.
I just bought one of these...I kind of wish it was a little wider, but it does what it's supposed to. I have a small yard now, and I also like not having to store fuel.
It looks like you have St Augustine grass, which is tough to mow.. What's the cut quality like? Does the mower have enough power to get through thick St Augustine grass?
I have Kobalt not used too much yet , it has two batteries but after fully charged its stopping after 5/6 or 10 feet. Then starts again and keep shutting down .
I've owned this mower for a bit. It can be used with or without self propulsion engaged. Blade and self propulsion controls are separate. Hope that answers your question.
Motor disengages when you let go of the self-propelled paddle, but you must push it forward a few inches. Weird on a hill, my hill butts up to a fence and I needed to let off the paddle before the fence so I could push it a bit at the end and let it roll backwards down the hill (I wear football cleats when mowing due to my hills). Once free wheeling you can push/pull it around, it's pretty light compared to a gas mower, even with the steel deck. Self-propelled works without the blades as shown in video.
I paid 50 for mine in the box off eBay yall are crazy do your research if your really so crazy about not having gas your just not going to get the same quality unless you spend 2k on a push more and to that I’d call you and idiot you could have a zero turn. If you want a good electric mower get the 40v or the 80v or get the toro 60v and keep extra battery’s but again at this point get a gas mower it’s like 10 bucks to cut all year for a lot of yall.
Some other vids said don't start on grass or it'll never spin-up. Try starting over concrete, or push the handle down to lift the blades up off the long grass and start it that way.

Been using ryobi for years but lately thinking going to kobalt. ^^
Will it operate on only one battery? Is there one that only needs one battery (either 24 or 30 v - I don’t care), thanks!
Can this be used without the self propulsion off? Does the motor disengage from the drive wheels? Gave your video a like.

Self-propelled works without the blades as shown in video.
Outstanding video
The Barbie Jeep drive system was a deal breaker for me. Returned to the store.
Good video. Thanks
Picking one up today
I wonder if this is actually a 48v mower hence why one battery won't work.
No they are in parallel
It's called Clarence. When are you coming
Ugh, mine won’t start. Must’ve got a dud
Mine Will not start either. I’ve tried the Manual and videos to no avail. Can’t be that difficult.

Mine also won't start 😢 returning it for a DeWalt

Same with me too
Make sure the handle is pulled all the way out , seems to be some sort of safety feature .
@@Rec483 i did but did not work and I waited for a couple hours and work again.
