    You would visibly see the crimp rolled into the canelure and the case mouth would have a slight shiny ring.

    i'm guessing you want to have your seating die a little higher so that the case does not make contact with the crimp shoulder.

    Yes, you are correct. It is a replacement crimp and far superior.

      C. Liberatore It's an old Lyman turret press I've had for 30 years.
      You can still buy it new and it is built like a tank.

      It appears to be simple and capable to have every stage set and ready to work like a progressive press, isn't it? Is its name Lyman or do you mean, Lee? I am new to it. And gathering knowledge to step into my first press. Thanks again.

      C. Liberatore It is a Lyman turret. The dies are Lee dies. It is not progressive. You have to turn the turret to the die you want.
      You process all the brass on each die before turning it to the next one. It is just allows you to keep your dies set without having to change them out if you make a mistake.
