Yeah it goes without saying. Anyone who thinks differently doesn’t really know what good basketball looks like. And with players staying longer is going to keep getting better. Even with guys getting paid it makes for more high quality teams

Very good, perhaps great hire (time will tell) Mitch Barnhart, with Mark Pope; also for Lady Cats coaching hire Kenny Brooks as well!
Ive been a UK fan for a long long time. That game reminded me of another great Kentucky matchup. In 98/99 they played Maryland with Steve Francis and I believe Juan Dixon was a freshman at Rupp. The final score was something like 103 Kentucky 95 Maryland Rupp was rocking the whole game and it was very similar to the game Saturday pace wise and level of play wise.
I was 11 or 12 years old, but I remember that game. It immediately made Steve Francis one of my favorite players, and I was stoked when he went to Houston to play with Hakeem.
If you like offense, yes. There were way too many lazy close outs, defensive breakdowns in the lane, etc though for both teams. Yes, both offenses are top 5 in the nation, but I was disappointed in Florida’s ability to guard on the perimeter. I thought they would shut Kentucky down with their length and athleticism. As a defensive guy, I was grimacing lol. However, as a fun product for casual spectators, it was definitely a 10/10.

Elite offense typically always trumps elite defense. Both teams had guys smothered, both teams hit tough shots
When going against Pope, calling a TO could be a bad idea
Sometimes, terrible basketball from 2 teams gets pawned off as a “defensive battle.” It can get funny at times…
