Re the blue Enya ukes, I have a tenor which Is no longer blue but a beautiful teal colour. I love it, the teal is stunning!!! (and it sounds beautiful too, which is much more important!)
I have both the UK-20ST and the UK-30ST EVO. The UK-20ST is an all-solid African Mahogany instrument, you can see the back panel as solid wood as there is no binding around the back. The nut on my UK-30ST EVO measures 38mm but strangely only 35mm on my UK-20ST with a correspondingly narrower string spacing. The string spacing on the bridge is same on both of my ukes.
The manufacturer’s website states that both models use engineered wood as fretboard and bridge. I’m sure my particular UK-30ST EVO has rosewood for both parts, that’s also what the uke shop stated when I bought it. The fretboard / bridge materials certainly look and feel different between my two instruments.
Maybe the manufacturer changed specs without notice when they run out of certain components during the build...
What main differences between the both models have you noticed? I’m currently struggling which one I should buy. The 20 or 30? Can you give me some advice?
I have the UK-30ST EVO .. just LOVE it ! UMA make wonderful and amazing instruments at their price point .. wish I had another in tenor .. hard to find in Canada
Nice Video Alex. All of these ukuleles look and sound nice. I really liked the look of the Black Pineapple. It looks like Uma used black wood filler to really make the grain pop and darken the look of the mahogany.🙂
I am saving for the UK16ST... I wish more brand would sell electronic free cutaway models. The concert pineapple is nice too, but can't have them all xD cheers!
When I first saw UMAs, I thought they were another line of ENYAs. They share many features. Perhaps the same factory as you said. They look nice and sound great on your video . . . maybe that's the fluorocarbon strings over the nylgut. Anyway, good on ya, UMA!
Personally played both and find Uma's wooden ukes better in sound and structural design (both have average quality 10+ years ago, but improved much over the years). Enya's carbon models seem quite innovative though.
I have the first 3 including the same colour in the Anuenue. The snail sc60 is beautiful but imho a touch soft in sound imho. I was a tenor person but recently found concert to be the easiest to play
How is the intonation of the UMA ukuleles that you have tried? We bought an UMA soprano in Germany, and we didn’t pay attention to the intonation in the store. It turned out to be quite off. We are taking it to a luthier this week to see if he can set it up correctly.
We have loads right now. Ohanas, Kalas, Snails, Uluru and more. Probably more than any uke shop in the world. The Flight Aurora is out of stock but I can't see anything good out there right now we don't have available
You are such a good speaker, Alex!
A joy to listen to you!
Loud, clear, articulate, eloquent … perfect man to do these video reviews!

The spec has changed on this delivery regarding nut width and materials.
@@SouthernUkuleleStore yeah i had a look on the manufactures website and it says the uk20st is all solid mahogany? is that not the case any more
I can only go on the information I'm given. 💁♂️

Uma is another brand from Taiwan, just like Miller and Anuenue.
I get it, “This soprano “blue” me away…….” 😂
...this guy gets it!
Good for you, good for me. Is good.
Where can I buy them
😄

We set them up before dispatching them so from the perspective of our store and our customers it really isn't going to be an issue.
@@SouthernUkuleleStore Sounds awesome. I will order my next uke from you, and I am also glad there is apparently hope for our current uke :-).
The concert sounds gorgeous but I'm always going to favour a soprano, just personal taste.
Hi Alex, which strings would you recommend for the 20 SCP Concert? Thanks
Any solid wood or solid top baritones on the way?
