Baby sea turtles are met with a dangerous challenge straight out of the egg. What are your thoughts on the difficult journey they have to make to the water?
It is one of the most impressive effort a animal can do at such a young age and under so much threats. I volunteered once in Greece protecting sea turtles and helping (as much as we could) hatchlings to reach the sea was so fulfilling. Good video btw
It's amazing that any of them make it into the water at all.
Cool
It’s like reverse D-Day
Thanks National Geographic.
Human baby after birth: cries
sea turtles:i don't know who i am i don't know why I'm here all i know is i must run
It drives to to tears 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️ I admire turtles now
The Turtles are people born into poverty
Maze runner?
Mfs more badass than Thanos.
Very well said.
the baby turtle litterally cross no mans land on day one. animals are really amazing.
The minute he's born he's literally born on the front lines
Spawn camping....smh
Under appreciated comment
gamers xDD
Kazi420 SB52 ikr
Hahaha
Lol agreed those spawn campers are annoying smh
This is basically every mission in Attack on Titan
Bruh xd
lilboa t! Levi is the same thing as the turtle having a human with a rifle😂😂

Baby humans: born in a safe maternity
Baby turtles: MY SOLDIERS CHARGE!
MY SOLDIERS SCREAM!
MY SOLDIERS FIGHT!
FOR THE REPUBLIC
Survival of the lucky ones actually. You never know when one gets to be picked off the beach. Thanks National Geographic.
You’re right! We can so feel with them, hoping for most of them to make it. Those guys have a rough start into their lives.

Faster ones have a better chance
Baby sea turtle after being born: "i don't know who i am, i don't know why i'm here. All i know it's i must run"
Did you steal that comment lol
@@MintiesPoopin maybe, maybe don't
my heart stopped when the bird picked up the baby turtle at the beginning
Nom
@@SpinosaurusStudios_ yummy bird
So delicious baby turtle nyum2
Me and my class had to watch this so this was fun to see
I laughed when it died. It's so fun watching baby animals get killed
When that bird picked up the turtle and yanked its head off, I felt really bad :(
Headshot conga!
Same
The comment I was looking for. I am upset!
Now the challenge is to survive in the ocean environment, hope they will.
Holding thumbs for them too!
me too
@JIT LOEN JEFFREY CHOY 崔哲纶 no actuallly, 31% percent of surviving and staying for 50 years to start laying eggs
@@Brontosore Bro, if 31% survive, given a nest consists of 100 eggs, that means every living adult sea turtle will give birth to 31 adults PER NEST every year, and most of them make more than one nest. Oceans would have more sea turtles than water by now at that rate, given that sea turtles have been around for something like 60 million years.
@@mp6471 In 1 year they can’t lay eggs bro, especially for 2 or 3.
We cannot say bad things about that birds since it's nature. But feel pity for that tiny kids. Nature can sometimes be beautiful and sometimes be cruel in other way around.
What if you where that turtle
Those turtles are endangered species. I think humans should scare the birds away. I am sure they can find something else to eat.
@@crand20033 I strongly agree
Well, we humans eat a lot of chicken eggs. But they're not an endangered species.
@@crand20033 I'm pretty sure if you're in the field filming for Nat GEO you're contracted to not interfere, ensuring endangered species survive is probably a job for someone else.
They all deserve a Purple Heart for bravery.
I have animals look😘
And the birds should be promoted two ranks higher for 90% devastation
D Day be like:
💜
Iam so glad she made it through those trenches safely and I feel bad on the turtles who didn’t :(
eaten by sea animals
On your own from day 1. Badass turtles.
"Awww, it's so sad seeing these hopeless turtles getting ripped apart"😢
"Ok let's film this"
;(
:(
it made me sooooo angry!! that passive filming of that carnage!!...there was no need for it...show us some BUT than go and help majority get to the sea!!....times are changing and people are more proactive in protecting wildlife...this guy is soooo out of touch, a dinosaur , extinct species....
@@Nitka022 People that talk like you have no respect for wildlife
@@jorgeloredo100 ?....are you sure you replying to MY comment?...do you mean the FILM MAKER has no respect for wildlife...?..just filming the slaughter happening in front of him....what am I missing here?....you truly lost me...
Baby Turtle after reaching the sea: *If we destroy our enemies there, will we finally be free?*
When that turtle come back it'll be like, you ate my family now i'm gonna eat you.
One of the most important things to help them survive, once they get to the ocean, is seaweed or seagrass, it acts as a little nursery, for them to float on & hide in
NatGeo Film Makers be like:
I wanna save thoses little turtlea but I can't!
a job that is not easy
Nature: Too beautiful and too harsh.
Being born as a Human: _Oh don't worry little one. You will have years of protection, food, shelter and love._ 💓 _Just relax and enjoy it._ 😊
Being born as a Turtle: 💀 *RUN* 💀
Nigerooooo
2:55 to 2:58 its so sad....
The one upside down, flapping to try to turn herself over got me :c the cycle of life can be cruel.. buf nature takes as it gives
What's more curious is how do those babies know the instant they are born that they have to run for their survival? Can it be embedded in their embryological memories?
you would know it too if you suddenly found yourself buried in sand and with no memory of anything.
God made them that way.
I wish i could live nearby and save them as many as i can every season
Kiran Reddy you can’t this is the circle of life and even if you do save them theres chance that they won’t survive. The birds are hungry as well and could die just let them be its nature.
@@Cynthiavillalba12 That's not true, in many places volunteers help endangered turtle species reach the ocean so that the birds don't eat them.
@@Cynthiavillalba12 as well, most of the birds are nowhere near as endangered as the most common sea turtle.
Mukuro Ikusaba look at how many birds gone extinct from how many turtles are extinct.
(I still would help those turtles 1 way or another I love turtles and tortoises!)
@@Cynthiavillalba12 You can, by guarding the turtles and shooing away the predators. But you are not allowed to touch or assist them. Not according to the law
2:19 vulture: just going to end this man's whole career
It‘s like D-Day but reversed
LMAO!
Bruh 😂
yup.
Reminds me of the opening scene of saving private Ryan
A TURTLE MADE IT TO THE WATER!
Wish I could go to the beach myself and watch this. I would pick the baby turtles up myself and take them into the sea.
Only about half of them make it to the sea, and even for the ones that do, the odds are still stacked against them.
you would basically just make them eaten by sea animals intead land animals. chances of survive still same
@@AmedesTheKing I know that. I did state it in my original point as well ".....even the ones that do [make it to the sea] the odds are still stacked against them"
No never touch a sea turtle ever that's harmful to them and you'll be doing more harm than good . If one grown sea turtle is flipped on it's back and can't do anything then that's where the exception comes but never touch them if not necessary.
@@tris-xi4bq I was not aware of that, and you may be right. Maybe I would just go and scare the birds away instead.
Humans: *born in a hospital*
Birds: *born in a nest*
Sea turtles: *Normandy but reverse*
They really do have to battle a lot on the way to the bbn ocean. I love turtles though.
Turtles born in a tsunami: *That's a free real state.*
😂😂
Great video! NatGeo creates the most amazing content, such a huge inspiration for me and my channel 😁
i know its nature and we arent supposed to interfere but if i was part of the crew i would have sprinted onto the beach and saved as many as i could🥺
Actually I think they did... at least I hope so....
Рузанна Арзуманян they didn’t
YOU'D DO NOTHING AND YOU KNOW IT YOU COWARD!
You cant help them its crucial that they make the trip alone, else they cant ever reproduce.
I'm pretty sure they did it to one, so at least they have some footage.
Imagine not even being able to think but being in d-day the minute youre born
Wish the filmmakers drew the vultures away from predating the precious turtles
After watching a sea turtle eat a jellyfish, I just feel the need to save every single baby out there ! 😤
Human birth: *Hospital*
Sea Turtle birth: *Saving private Ryan*
D Day
Turtles are a mini soldiers
This makes me want to just guard turtle spawn grounds and put the hatchlings straight into the sea.
lol the next scene is probably a shark eating that hatchling
It drives me to tears: they have to run for life since just being born 😭😭 this nature this world is absolutely cruel, t he same goes for human world, everyone needs to compete!!!
lmao if there was an alligator snapping turtle there those birds would be torn to shreds
This is liteally D-Day lol
4:48 she was crying
These amazing shots gave me goosebump!
Sea turtle babies in the lobby after dying be like “woooow look at those spawn campers so trash like so trash if you can only spawn camp bro”
Omg I almost teared 🤣😭
I love these turtles they’re so adorable ☺️
Seriously what is wrong with these people just watching while babies get devoured
After making it to the water, beware of the poachers!
This would make a great video game.
Some of us respect the turtle because your inner child relates to it. No fathers or mother’s guidance, being born in an unstable foundation, predators all around you etc..
Turtles are born in the middle of the battlefield.
This is like the reverse D-Day
Why isn’t the camera guy not doing anything to help the hatchlings
so the survival of turtles depends on mass birth
After watching their hustle my life pain became 0
They're basically like in Normandy but in reverse
Watching this for school
when the bird was trying to get the baby turtle is his mouth I was so scared for the turtle
Rumor has it it got eaten by a hungry fish withing 45 sec in ocean
That very few of them make it to the ocean 💔
The birds were like Stuka Dive Bombers from WW2, and the baby turtles were like American Convoys.
Turtle after she lays her eggs: Later ni-
They fought to be alive while they were babies but little did they know their ocean is polluted 🥶
I couldn't watch the babies being eaten :( can't. So sad. Rip

I don't think I'd have the heart to film the baby turtles and not rescue them when the birds attacked

Turtle babies after birth : *current objectives : survive*
I almost wanna go over to costa rica and scare those birds away. but it’s nature and those birds are hungry. 😔
nice turtles
If I see baby turtles hatching Ima act like Moana.
2:50 Great
Natural selection
They should start putting cloth tunnels around the nest so they have that safety and they are guarded... I have a big imagination 😂 safe the turtles!!! But basically it could be a disposable cloth with some fencing and every other day people should come check if they and made it and take it down. The tunnel would lead to the ocean
You are very kind😯😇😨😰😭🙏👍👌👏
Hi
There's a chrome extension called Ocean Hero, that every time you open 10 tabs, you relieve 1 plastic bottle out of the ocean. It has a 4.8-star review and all those bottles add up. Search up Ocean Hero, and add it to your chrome.

2:53 wow... that turtle got decapitated! I never thought nature was this cruel. Imagine being born and having a chance of getting your head eaten off
Teach tortoise to wait for dark to move in water😁
Tortoise is wrong. Those are not tortoises. Tortoises exclusively live on land (master Oogway is a tortoise).
Please protect these turtles... 🥺
