PLEASE READ NOTE AT THE END BEFORE BUYING
This car has the "Navigation MMI Plus with MMI Touch" option.
Here are the steps that need to be followed in order to be able to play movies and musics in an Audi.
For VIM (Video In Motion), please check this video.

If you have the software, but you don't see MPEG-4, please try to do this :
- Open application
- Go to the dropdown menu of "Convert all files to"
- Select Video at the top
- Select MP4 on the left
- Chose a profile (like HD 1080P)
- Then go again to the dropdown menu "Convert all files to"
- Select Video at the top
- Then "Create custom"
MPEG-4 should be available.
NOTE :
Before buying the software, check if your car is compatible with movie reading.
Try to make a test by downloading those movie and audio files on your SD card and try to play them in your car :
User : youtube
PW : youtube
If it does play, than all is ok.

I have bought it from Wish.com 2 years ago. I am having the impression that the s-line logo was not expected. I went back to my orders and it wasn't shown in the picture.
I did exactly as you instructed, it does not work, I have also tried with other softwares suggested in other videos and still not working, any advice? BTW, I own an Audi A3 sedan 2015

If you have formatted the card with the same file system and tried with my videos i have put in the link, if it's still does not work, maybe the MMI is not compatible with videos :(, or maybe there are some other differences between our cars.
1 folder contains the correct format and ALL work in my car. The 2nd folder contains a mix of different format so people can try which one can work for them (not all work for me in this 2nd folder).
Hi i am trying to use the same software and the only option they giving me for mpeg1/2 not 4? would mpeg 2 work on my audi a3 63 plate ? with same other options ?

You have to copy an existing profile and after you can configure all the recommended settings like in the video or in the document where i have provided a link.
If you want to check if your car is compatible, you can download all my files (link provided in description) and test them in your car. You have to test them all. If at least some video files work than your car is compatible. If they do not work, either your car is not compatible, or the settings i have provided must be changed :)

Unfortunately i am not keen on the settings of Apple Car Play. If you have tested my video files, it is also possible that the resolution i have used is not taking the entire screen (another person has told me that about my video files).
Can you drive while watching these mp4 files ?
Indeed you can. And it works :)
But you need to unlock it as it is not allowed. It is called VIM (Video In Motion) that can be allowed by modifying some settings of the car through the OBD port. Special equipement is needed.

Be. I think I have given some explanations here, but not too much.
I have used OBD11 for that and there are some pre-programmed settings that you can change on the car like the lights and the VIM settings.

If those videos do not work, i wouldn't know what else should be done.
Try both folders. AUDI MMI (all work on my car). AUDI MMI 2 (some videos might not work as i tried different settings for my viewers to check).

I have used the OBD Eleven device to tweak my car.
It gives you the possibility to unlock this feature (amongst many others) of VIM (Video In Motion).

I have Audi A3 sline 2016-66, What if you want to play a video off another app on your phone through CarPlay? Or Bluetooth ?
tenisharh hello, i think that indeed yours has car play, but as far as I know, it has to be plugged in the USB port. It wouldn’t go over Bluetooth. Once connected I think you would need a car play compatible app on your phone to stream movie. Unfortunately as I don’t have it myself I couldn’t tell you more.
hello i live in brazil, used to have the maps working fine with mmi plus in my audi a3 sedan 2014, but i had to replace the glove-department dvd due to some problems, and now i got the native gps deactivated... do you have any fix for that ? thx

Does not work for me in Audi A3 2017. I downloaded all files but only one showed and played audio only, other ones wasn't even shown in MMI. I guess my MMI does not support video... 😕
Sad 😖. I tried a lot of formats just in case. So either it s different for 2017 or your model is not compatible.

Not sure it would work. But format a SD card like recommended in the video and download all my video files i have provided (2 folders). If they work, than great. If not, either your car is not compatible, either the settings i have chosen don't work for your MMI. I would not know exactly where you would find your MMI version (i do not remember).

But i have said in the description that you need to have an option with the MMI, otherwise it could not work with just the basic MMI :(

2015 A3 8v and it has the 'small screen' MMI with navigation. In the version info it says "MSTD_eu" and I ve tried various video formats to play trough the SD card but no success...

Well you would need to have the MMI plus option to get it work normally. Try to download my files in the link in the video description. You have video files with the correct settings and also some others settings to try. If none of my files work, probably your car is not compatible.
If it does work, I ll give you the settings I am using. Please try them all.
@@funcarreviews Thank you for your fast answers and overall support, I've tried the files from the description the only thing working is the 'm4a' format (only sound), the rest mp4, mov etc are unreadable. Wich is odd because the MMI has navi in color, AMI conetcing socket, CD/DvD reader with the two SD cards reader al thoguht it's the small screen size navi...

Hmm i see. I guess my screen is bigger than yours then ? can you confirm ? If you can read DVD i guess it should work to read video files on a SD card. Maybe i should try lower resolutions for you.

The files in For Audi MMI are directly from my SD card in my car. So it should work if your car is compatible.
The files in For Audi MMI 2 are in different formats to see if some works for other users. The files in For Audi MMI 2 don't all work for me but it was a test for some people.

No, not for streaming movies. Movies can be read from SD card and DVD player (i don't think this version has Apple Car Play / Android Auto).

Indeed you might need some aftermarket device to be plugged on the MMI i guess in order to have a Bluetooth connection to stream media. Unfortunately i do not know more about it.

It depends if your car is compatible with what I wrote in the description.
If you have a SD card, you can test for free with my video test files. If one of them works, then you car is compatible 🤗

You may need to have the MMI Navigation Plus option
But if you have a SD card, just format as requested in the video and copy the test video files that you will find in the link at the end of the the description and go test them in your car. If it works, than your car is compatible :)

Hmm i m not sure.
But worth give it a try if you have a SD card lying around. You'll find video files to download in the video description :) so you don't need to buy the software if it doesn't work on your car.
