Awesome checklist never thought to do this but it does make sense as like you I’ll do Astro and be tired the next day and forget to reset a lot of things
great concept, have to try it out next time im in little more under pressure situation because thats where the real magic of this probably plays out. I mean you have all these things you have to keep in mind , plus you might even have some technical difficulties maybe with the lights or whatever and so this simple hack might definitely save you from a later on headache. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching, Albert! I'm glad you found the concept helpful. And don't worry, we've all been in those pressure situations where things don't go according to plan. That's why having some simple hacks up your sleeve can make all the difference. Good luck with your next shoot!
Thanks for the check list. I have done that several times in the past. I like your camera setup. I have the D850 also. I am shopping a round for a good ball head. I like the one you have in the video. what brand is it?, if you don't mind sharing.
It has happened more than one time I can assure you. Me standing behind the camera and swearing why not my focus button is working and of course again I have forgotten to switch back the Manual button to AF on the camera or the lens or both.
Every shoot is different and needs different setup. If you've been to different shoot and using same camera and lens for sometime then everything comes automatic with brain and muscle memory. No need for a checklist like a pilot for takeoff and landing.😊
I really like your FIRMWARE checklist. I have been burned the same as you. I seldom use my remote shutter release, and seldom have used exposure compensation (though I have been playing with it more). So, I will need to come up with a different accronym that will fit my style of shooting. Great video.
I use BBF, I focus where ever and it's done. I use M, not P, A or S. If my camera were in one of those modes, I'd spot it pretty damn quickly, adjusting exposure wouldn't' work. I use histogram, blinkies (my Olympus cameras do blinkies before making the shot) and zebras. I have been caught out on too-high ISO.

I think we have all done it at some stage!
Hi Ben, I’m off on holiday tomorrow - just done my FIRMWARE checklist. Cheers!

Hi Todd. It is a BH55 from Really Right Stuff.
@@On3legs Thanks a lot,

Yes, I have had that happen too.

I guess the thousands of people downloading it think otherwise ;-)
