Yes it helps a lot! You can hear that Mark played it with a capo on the studio version. Check out the isolated bass track, you can find it on RUclips. I didn't add any bass parts in this cover, I just tried to copy what Mark did. I added some synth, strings, piano and acoustic guitar tho. Thank you and as always, nice to hear from you!

It's an Ampeg BA 115 amp. The treble and middle knob was at like 8 and the bass knob was in the middle. I recorded two signals. One from the mic and the other one from the line output. I also used some EQ, compression, saturation and chorus in my daw. Thank you! I tried really hard to play it exactly like Mark (in the studio version)

Because then I'm able to play notes at the 9th, 7th and 6th fret on the D string and the B note at the 2nd fret on the A string at the same time, which would be impossible without a capo. I could play the B note on the E string at the 7th fret instead, but it doesn't sound as good and it's a lot harder to play this way. I listened carefully to the isolated bass track and noticed that Mark used a capo to play this riff. He doesn't use a capo live tho. He just plays a simpler version of the riff.
On the amp it was like Bass 5 Middle 8 Treble 8. I recorded it with a mic and also from the line output. Then I blended it together and I did a couple of things to it in the DAW software. Sorry for such a delayed answer!
