Hey Everyone! So first off welcome to House of Ashes. This was recommended by a few of you a while back and in all honesty I wasn't sure we would like it ..... we were wrong! This was brilliant and totally surprised me with how the story played out AND what we were up against! Unfortunately Fisks recording failed but I managed to keep the story in line with what he was doing so you guys can all hear etc. If you enjoyed the A Way Out series then I am sure you will love this! A few historical notes for the intro: This takes place in Akkad, a time that far predates Xerxes. The Akkadian Empire, that took over Sumer reigned between 2334 to 2154 BC. To put in perspective, Xerxes reigned in 486-465 BC. The mask the King wears identifies him as Naram-Sin, the son of Sargon of Akkad, one of the earlier kings(Lugal in Sumerian) in the entire human history. The writing you see is not hieroglyphic, but Cuneiform, specifically Sumerian cuneiform, although the text is probably in Akkadian(Akkad did not have it's own system of writing, so they used the Sumerians).

Watching this after going through both The Devil In Me and The Query videos you did with Fisk (it took me a few days) and I am absolutely living for it. I don’t care if you guys make all the wrong choices or get half the characters to die, it’s honestly part of the fun to not know what to expect. And it’s so damn great to hear you guys going through your thinking process behind each decision. Plus, the best horror movies are the ones where you want to scream the louder at the protagonists when you think they make the wrong choices. You did an amazing job with this, really. I’m looking forward to you guys trying more games with this gameplay.
Remember that in the beginning the narrator has said that decisions will bear consequences and I hope it doesnt happens but I feel like continuous refusal of Eric's kind gestures might put a risk to the survivability rate of both Rachel and eric as the relationship between them might deteriorate cause of that, which might affect the choices that u will get in the future.(like if suppose there comes a situation where one might have to save the other the choice to 'save' might not be there cause of the relationship status between the two)
I don't think they understand what picking "afraid" & such means. It's not juat what they say, it's how they're feeling/handling the situation Like fooster suffocating that guy because he kept "succeeding" at the checks. I'm pretty sure he would've lived if he backed off (could be wrong, though)

Second, nobody said they can't but my comment was I don't think they understood at the time how those dialogue choices were being perceived. It's not that the game didn't make that clear, more or less, and making potentially subpar decisions due to a lack of understanding sucks Maybe before judging people you should try to understand their perspective because I don't think anyone here commented with negative intentions

Might have said this before, but these graphics are so beautiful. You can the lights and shadows and also these expressions of the characters. Also I'm really happy that you're playing with fisk and like having two stories✌️
I've seen the gameplay of this game. I mean it's basically an interactive movie, but the developers absolutely nailed it. Every single part and detail of it. The mystery, the story, the location and situations, enemies was kinda credible or realistic, man it was perfect. If they ask me, I'll give 10 out of 10 of this game. Absolutely perfect.
That was Epic! I got home after work, around 2200, saw this and thought... hell yeah! Sat myself comfortably, poured a rum and chilled, whilst watching you guys making life changing decisions! Thanks for the entertainment as always, I look forward to the next installment... Stay safe
I have already watched a lot of this game through another playthrough. But you guys have the best gaming chemistry ever. I'm going to watch it all the way to the end this time.
I love that you guys are playing this game together. You're not supposed to tell each other what you're doing or what you're seeing. You could of gone the whole time with him not knowing you're cheating and seeing that other guy. Makes for a better storyline you guys not knowing what the other person seeing and doing.
Started watching a few playthroughs of this and never made it past the first 10 or 15 minutes. Fooster and Fisk to the rescue, watched every second of this one! Can’t wait for Part 2
I loved your guys' playthrough of A Way Out, it was perfect fit for you and Fisk. I don't know if you finished this game already but if not then yea, they didn't lie when they said it gets really weird. With the next game in the series, Quarry, I have to say I missed the host but for what they were going for I can see why they replaced the character. If you haven't played it you'll find out why if and when you do, I won't explain because it'd be going into spoiler territory, it's part of the main story. Anyway, enjoying the gameplay Fooster, can't wait to see the rest.

Yeah the music was fantastic , better than the games one I bet! It even synced perfectly with the mysterious blokes close up of him looking and the guy walking all aflame. It was a really cool bit of non copyright music!

This story is really good. The only thing so far that trips me up is that a generator from the 40's would probably not work with a spark plug and duct tape... Not to mention the fuel would have gone bad 3 to 4years after the fuel was left there in the 40's... But the story is incredibly entertaining..
Fisk, Fooster, there is another amazing looking game with a similar type of gameplay like this and was also recently developed. It's called The Quarry and it's a cinematic horror game. where you control the fates of nine camp counselors during the last few days of summer camp as their party unravels into a night of horror. There are also choices that need to be made and they will have good or bad consequences. From what I've seen from it so far, it's great. You guys would love it too, I'm sure and that would make it fun for us too.

Btw, if you enjoyed playing HoA, you should take a look on the other two games out yet of The Dark Picture Anthology ( they're planning to release eight games (!!!) in total for the series ). The names are : TDPA: Man of Medan ( the first released ) and TDPA: Little Hope ( the second ). The games are not directly related but there's some cool easters eggs. I'm sure you guys are gonna fall in love with this series. Ho before i forget, the one you actually playing is the first one of the series in the chronology of the *stories*, won't say more 😉. Can't wait for the fourth one ( TDPA : The Craven Man ) !!
A two person game like Until Dawn seems like so much fun! Playing with another person that can affect the outcome and having to guess what they're going to choose would be awesome! They can literally decide your fate and vice versa! I _need_ somebody to play this with. 😂
Dark Pictures have a few games like that. I remember one about diving party coming across an half sunken WWII ship. Totally haunted. Great games. Staggering graphics

This looks really good, but I think Fisk made a mistake cutting Rachel loose like that. The way the RG Captain smirked at Eric before walking away felt like foreshadowing to me.
This was beyond hilarious. Absolute quackery and fun. Thank you for the early morning laughs. Watching this, sleep deprived beginning at 4am on a Monday morning is a very questionable way to begin a week. Good times indeed.

I watched an entire cinematic walkthrough of this game with the "happy ending" last year. Honestly, it was one of my favorite "movies" of 2022.
I have already watched a lot of this game through another playthrough. But you guys have the best gaming chemistry ever. I'm going to watch it all the way to the end this time.

Btw, if you enjoyed playing HoA, you should take a look on the other two games out yet of The Dark Picture Anthology ( they're planning to release eight games (!!!) in total for the series ). The names are : TDPA: Man of Medan ( the first released ) and TDPA: Little Hope ( the second ). The games are not directly related but there's some cool easters eggs. I'm sure you guys are gonna fall in love with this series. Ho before i forget, the one you actually playing is the first one of the series in the chronology of the *stories*, won't say more 😉. Can't wait for the fourth one ( TDPA : The Craven Man ) !!

A two person game like Until Dawn seems like so much fun! Playing with another person that can affect the outcome and having to guess what they're going to choose would be awesome! They can literally decide your fate and vice versa! I _need_ somebody to play this with. 😂

Dark Pictures have a few games like that. I remember one about diving party coming across an half sunken WWII ship. Totally haunted. Great games. Staggering graphics

@@caydenbekker2470 Yes! That's the one! First ever game i played with such mechanics of decision making etc. It was over Christmas as well, whole family was sucked into it, those games are so cinematic, it feels like watching a film. Really well made.
